In this paper, we propose a new type of RAKE receiver for complementary code keying (CCK) codes, which is suitable for the multipath channel with large delay spread. Our proposed system is based on channel matched filter (CMF) with decision feedback equalizer (DFE) and contains codeword DFE structure. In our system, inter chip interference (ICI) and inter symbol interference (ISI) generated due to multipath environments are calculated by using detected CCK codeword. Also it uses the error correcting capability of CCK codes, and it can remove ISI and ICI at the same time.

In this paper, a channel assignment technique to mitigate interferences due to ISI(Inter Symbol Interference) and ICI(Inter Carrier Interference) caused by TDoA(Time Difference of Arrival) among distributed MRs(Mesh Routers) in OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)-based WMN(Wireless Mesh Network) is proposed. The SINR(Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio) associated with the channel assignment for each MR is defined to minimize the effect of ISI and ICI due to TDoA in WMN, which is then used to propose an channel assignment technique considering fairness constraint. It is verified by computer simulation that the proposed channel assignment technique can improve the performance of BER(Bit Error Rate) in WMNs with compared to the conventional technique.

This paper proposes an advanced turbo receiver with joint inter-carrier interference (ICI) self cancellation and channel equalization for multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems over rapidly time-varying channel environment. The ICI caused by impairment of local oscillators and carrier frequency offset (CFO) is the major problem for MIMO-OFDM communication systems. The existing schemes (conjugate cancellation (CC) and phase rotated conjugate cancellation (PRCC)) that deal with the ICI cancellation and channel equalization can't provide satisfactory performance over time-varying channels. In term of error rate performance and low computational complexity, ICI self cancellation is the best choice. So, this paper proposes a turbo receiver to deal with the problem of joint ICI self cancellation and channel equalization. We employ the adaptive phase rotations in the receiver to effectively track the CFO variations without feeding back the CFO estimate to the transmitter as required in traditional existing scheme. We also give some simulations to verify the proposed scheme. The proposed schene outperforms the existing schemes.

In this paper, we propose a new symbol offset estimation technique for an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based wireless LAN. When both inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-channel interference (ICI) do not exist in an OFDM symbol, symbol offsets cause circular shifts in the estimated channel impulse response (CIR) by the amount of symbol offset. Also, the power delay profile of a typical multipath wireless channel can be modeled by exponentially decaying function, and most energy of multipath channel is concentrated at the beginning part of the CIR. Based on these properties, the proposed symbol offset estimation technique estimates the CIR, which is circularly shifted by the amount of symbol offset, and then calculates the partial mean power from the estimated impulse response by using a moving window with a finite length. And, symbol offset can be estimated from the index of a moving window having the maximal partial mean power. The proposed technique can reduce noise effect in the process of the CIR estimation, and remove ISI and ICI using repetitive training symbol structure in time-domain for minimum training overhead. The performances of the proposed symbol offset estimation technique in typical indoor channels are demonstrated by computer simulation.

Spatial Multiplexing techniques, which is a kind of Multiple antenna techniques, provide high data transmission rate by transmitting independent data at different transmit antenna with the same spectral resource. OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is applied to MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) system to combat ISI (Inter-Symbol Interference) and frequency selective fading channel, which degrade MIMO system performance. But, orthogonality between subcarriers of OFDM can't be guaranteed under high-mobility condition. As a result, severe performance degradation due to ICI is induced. In this paper, both ICI and CAI (Co-Antenna Interference) which occurs due to correlation between multiple antennas, and performance degradation due to both ICI and CAI are analyzed. In addition to the proposed CIR (Channel Impulse Response) estimation method for avoiding loss in data transmission rate, HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) approach for guaranteeing QoS of MIMO-OFDM receiver is proposed. We observe the results on analytical performance degradation due to both ICI & CAI are coincide with the simulation results and performance improvement due to HIC are also verified by simulation under SCM-E Sub-urban Macro MIMO channel.

This paper focuses on solving co-channel interference (CCI) issues arising in the open subscriber group (OSG) mode of heterogeneous networks (HetNets). Considering a general framework consisting of arbitrary number of picocells within a macro cell, where the inter-user interference (IUI) is the main CCI to macro user equipments (UEs), while the the inter-cell interference (ICI) is the major CCI to pico UEs. In this paper, three IA based transceiver design schemes are proposed. For macro cell, we uniformly use block diagonalization (BD) scheme to eliminate the IUI. And for picocells, three IA schemes are proposed to mitigate the ICI. The first scheme, named as zero forcing IA (ZF-IA) scheme, aligns the inter picocell interference onto an arbitrary sub-space of the cross-tier interference using ZF scheme. Considering the channel state information (CSI) of the desired channel of pico UEs, the second scheme, named as optimal desired sub-channel selected IA (ODC-IA) scheme, aligns the inter picocell interference onto a certain sub-space of the cross-tier interference, which guarantees the largest channel gain of the desired signal of pico UEs. The third IA scheme, named as maximum cross-tier interference selected IA (MI-IA) scheme, is designed for the system with less receive antennas. The inter picocell interference is aligned onto the space of the strongest cross-tier interference and only the interference on this space is nullified. The complexity analysis and simulations show that the proposed transceiver design schemes outperform the existing IA schemes in the OSG mode of HetNets, and the MI-IA scheme reduces the requirement of the receive antennas number with lower complexity.

In digital video broadcasting-terrestrial (DVB-T), which is the European digital terrestrial television standard, the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been adopted for signal transmission. The main reasons using OFDM are to increase the robustness against the frequency selective fading and impulse noise, and to use available bandwidth efficiently. However, channel variation within an OFDM symbol destroys orthogonality between subcarriers, resulting in inter-carrier interference (ICI), which increases an error floor in proportional to maximum Doppler spread. This paper provides an ICI analysis in both time and frequency domains while existing literatures analyze the ICI effects mainly in frequency domain and proposes the algorithms that estimate the channel impulse response and channel variation using least square (LS) algorithm which is the most simple channel estimation technique. And we propose adaptive channel estimation algorithm that estimates the velocity of terminals. The simulation results show that proposed algorithm has similar performance with about 1.5% computational complexity of noise and ICI reduction LS algorithm in low speed environments.
In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system (OFDM), rapid channel variation caused by fast moving receiver leads to a loss of subcarrier orthogonality which results in inter-carrier interference (ICI) and receiver performance degradation. In conventional receivers, performance is enhanced by estimating ICI and removing it from received signals. In this paper, an ICI reduction scheme using a time-domain mask and adding is proposed. The proposed scheme is applied to DVB-T receiver to prove the Doppler mobile performance enhancement.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-code division multiplexing access(OFDM-CDMA) systems without guard interval can enhance the bandwidth performance more efficiently than the systems with guard interval. In this paper, a new technique for an OFDM-CDMA system without guard interval, which can eliminate inter-symbol interference(ISI) and inter-channel interference(ICI), is presented. The proposed algorithm is a new demodulation technique, based on the Pseudo-Decorrelator, and it is named PD algorithm. Simulation results show that the PD algorithm can combat ISI and ICI efficiently for an OFDM-CDMA system without guard interval. The BER performance of the PD algorithm is much better than that of a conventional OFDM-CDMA system without guard interval.

In this paper, we investigate the degrees of freedom (DoF) of a multi-cell multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference broadcast channel (IBC) with non-cooperation distributed base stations (BS), where each BS serves users of its corresponding cell. When all BSs simultaneously transmit their own signals over the same frequency band in the MIMO IBC, the edge users in each cell will suffer the inter-cell interference (ICI) and inter-user interference (IUI) signals. In order to eliminate the ICI and IUI signals, a distributed space time interference alignment (DSTIA) approach is proposed where each BS has only limited access to distributed moderately-delay channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT). It is shown that the DSTIA scheme can obtain the appreciate DoF gains. In addition, the DoF upper bound is asymptotically achievable as the number of antenna at each BS increases. It is shown that the DSTIA method can get DoF gains over other interference alignment schemes with delayed CSIT in literature. Moreover, the DSTIA method can attain higher DoFs than the IA schemes with global CSIT for certain antenna configurations.
