The Development of sub-event Information interface for Integrated management of underground pipelines (통합 서비스를 위한 지하매설관 하부 이벤트 정보전달 인터페이스 개발)

  • In this study, for the integrated information management of underground pipelines, each information management server software must have it's inter-operability. So Many kinds of smart-city integrated platform softwares were surveyed and the best platform software was selected. The interface software modules developed in this study was installed at the test system. Through this test system, when a sub system transfers an event message to the upper integrated server system, the inter-operability test between the upper system and a sub operating system was performed and its operability was resolved.

  • H.323 proposes to use Mobile IP and H.323 ad hoc conference signaling to provide Handoff function to a mobile terminal. But H.323 ad hoc conference signaling has a drawback. It requires an H.323 endpoint to do a complex conference signaling which makes inter-operability between H.323 endpoints difficult and takes the longer signaling time. In this paper, we propose an Handoff signaling using H.323 rerouting(Third party initiated Pause and Rerouting). H.323 rerouting signaling only requires an H.323 endpoint to do H.323 basic signaling in reestablishing media channel, and makes inter-operability more easier and provides the faster Handoff. To do this, our H.323 GK has derived H.245 control channel using tunneling for all H.323 calls including the fast connect calls which enable endpoints communicate each other if they don\`t have H.245 control channel. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed signaling, we have conducted an experiment that compares a call transfer signaling using H.323 rerouting with ad hoc conference signaling in inter-operability and signaling delay. The results of our experiment shows that the call transfer signaling can inter-operate with four H.323 endpoints among five H.323 endpoints of other vendors and reduces the signaling delay average 1.4 sec.

  • Web GIS (Geographic Information Systems) service systems provide the various GIS services of analyzing and displaying the spatial data with friendly user-interface. These services are expanding the business domain and many users want to access the distributed various spatial data. But, it is difficult to access diverse data sources because of different spatial data format and data access methods. In this paper, we design and implement web GIS services based on the inter-operability and GML (Geography Markup Language) of OGC(Open GIS Consortium) in web distributed environment. Inter-operability provides unique accessing method to distributed data sources based on OLE DB technology of Microsoft. In addition, GML support web GIS services based on XML. We design these GIS services as components using UML (Unified Modeling Language) of an object-oriented modeling language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software system. In addition, they also were developed in object-oriented computing environment, and it provides the interoperability, language-independent, easy developing environment as well as re-usability.

An IBC and Certificate Based Hybrid Approach to WiMAX Security

  • Worldwide inter-operability for microwave access (WiMAX) is a promising technology that provides high data throughput with low delays for various user types and modes of operation. While much research had been conducted on physical and MAC layers, little attention has been paid to a comprehensive and efficient security solution for WiMAX. We propose a hybrid security solution combining identity-based cryptography (IBC) and certificate based approaches. We provide detailed message exchange steps in order to achieve a complete security that addresses the various kind of threats identified in previous research. While attaining this goal, efficient fusion of both techniques resulted in a 53% bandwidth improvement compared to the standard's approach, PKMv2. Also, in this hybrid approach, we have clarified the key revocation procedures and key lifetimes. Consequently, to the best of knowledge our approach is the first work that unites the advantages of both techniques for improved security while maintaining the low overhead forWiMAX.

  • The existing SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system software is usually developed to suitable for the specific hardware platforms. However, as per rapid improvement of computer performance and development of network technology, it is required to support scalability and inter-operability in existing different SCADA systems. In order to meet such requirements, in this paper, we propose a new type of SCADA testbed using Java for electric distribution applications. The system consists of three modules; development support tools, client and server modules. The basic architecture of the proposed SCADA system is similar to existing one, however, we improve the function of MTU and MMI interface to facilitate LAN and WAN environment. Also, the proposed system can deals with alarm and history data by using heterogeneous DBMS. Since the system is built in Java environment, the development cost is cheap and it can support sacalability and portability. Our experience can be utilized to develop next generation of small and medium size of SCADA system.

  • Currently broadcasting and telecommunication has integrated, And IPTV Service has appeared who called TPS(Triple Play Service) which integrated with broadcasting, telecommunication and Phone Service. IPTV provide broadcasting service and VOD(Video on Demand) service, and it must be satisfied digital content security. For this condition, IPTV Forum working on standardization of interface for digital content security. The Security solution for broadcasting and VOD are CAS (Conditional Access System) and DRM(Digital Rights Management). But these solutions manufactured by many vendors, so there is no inter-operability. And after finished standardization of interface for CAS and DRM system, the problem of inter-operability with them will be issued. For this reason, Rights management system which possible to operate independently with platform is necessary. In this paper, To protect multimedia digital content, we designed and implemented Conditional Access Management System.

  • R&D Personnel information is constructed locally based on the needs of each institute and therefore is distributed over different databases. It does not support inter operability which makes it difficult to access and update that leads to the problem of ineffective usage. In this study, we have categorized the lower level information that forms the domestic S&T Personnel and defined the relationship between each type of information to suggest a standard for the data elements that guarantee the access to specific information in order to support inter operability. We have analyzed the human resource information database of domestic and foreign research institutes for the data modeling. We have also made reference to the standard metadata and database of other types that can be linked with the human resource information in designing the data elements. ISO/IEC 11179, the international standard for the metadata registry(MDR), was adopted to apply the object, attribute and expression to be described to the name of the data element.

  • With the widely applications of tactical radio networks, end-to-end secure speech communication in the heterogeneous network has become a very significant security issue. High-grade end-to-end speech security can be achieved using encryption algorithms at user ends. However, the use of encryption techniques results in a problem that encrypted speech data cannot be directly transmitted over heterogeneous tactical networks. That is, the decryption and re-encryption process must be fulfilled at the gateway between two different networks. In this paper, in order to solve this problem and to achieve optimal end-to-end speech security for heterogeneous tactical environments, we propose a novel mechanism for end-to-end secure speech transmission over ultra high frequency (UHF) and public switched telephone network (PSTN) and evaluate against the performance of conventional mechanism. Our proposed mechanism has advantages of no decryption and re-encryption at the gateway, no processing delay at the gateway, and good inter-operability over UHF and PSTN.

  • The subsystems of HSR train control system in each country has developed and operated till early 2000, however 2001/16/EC ERTMS is issued for inter-operability among European train control systems in 2001. So it is trend that ERTMS/ETCS has been applied to not only low-speed train system but high-speed train system over 300km/h in many countries of Europe. According to the government policies of the Honam HSR, metropolitan HSR and test lines, incoming on-board signal control system has been required caused by speed limit to 160km/h on the ground signal system. As ETCS-Level 1 system has applied in our railways from 2003, so our train control system has depended on foreign technologies. In this paper, we analyzed to localize train control system for being ready to protect foreign policies and obtaining core technologies of HSR train control system for instance ETCS-Level2.

  • In this paper we design and evaluate Hybrid Wireless Mesh Networks on IEEE 802.11-based network. So we analysis the CWMNs and BWMNs to integrate them. The CWMNs of Ad hoc Mode cannot be directly connected to the BWMNs of Infrastructure Mode because they have different frame types.
