  • 뉴럴넷 기술이 발전과 힘께 다양한 분야에서 획기적인 성능 향상이 이루어지고 있다. 이미지 압축 분야에서도 기존의 전통적인 툴 제인 구조의 압축 방식에서 벗어나 종단간(end-to-end) 뉴렬넷 기반의 이미지 압축 기술에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히 최근 네트워크를 통해 변환된 피쳐 데이터의 엔트로피를 최소화하는 방식에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으며, 이에 기반한 최근의 연구는 VVC 화면 내 코딩 기술보다 우수한 코딩 효율성을 제공하고 있다. 그러나 변환된 피쳐 데이터에 대한 특성 분석은 부족한 실정이며, 이에 본 논문에서는 엔트로피 최소화 기반 종단간 이미지 압축 네트워크의 피쳐 공간 데이터에 대한 공간적 (spatial) 상관관계와 채널간(inter-channel) 상관관계(correlation)를 분석하고, 나아가 최근 제안된 종단간 이미지 압축 네트워크의 문맥 기반 예측 기능을 통해 잔존하는 데이터 중복성이 효과적으로 제거됨을 보인다.

Combination of Array Processing and Space-Time Coding In MC-CDMA System

  • The transmission capacity of wireless communication systems may become dramatically high by employ multiple transmit and receive antennas with space-time coding techniques appropriate to multiple transmit antennas. For large number of transmit antennas and at high bandwidth efficiencies, the receiver may become too complex whenever correlation across transmit antennas is introduced. Reducing decoding complexity at receiver by combining array processing and space-time codes (STC) helps a communication system using STC to overcome the big obstacle that prevents it from achieving a desired high transmission rate. Multi-carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) allows providing good performance in a channel with high inter-symbol interference. Antenna array, STC and MC-CDMA system have a similar characteristic that transmit-receive data streams are divided into sub-streams. Thus, there may be a noticeable reduction of receiver complexity when we combine them together. In this paper, the combination of array processing and STC in MC-CDMA system over slow selective-fading channel is investigated and compared with corresponding existing MC-CDMA system using STC. A refinement of this basic structure leads to a system design principle in which we have to make a trade off between transmission rate, decoding complexity, and length of spreading code to reach a given desired design goal.

  • Spatial Multiplexing techniques, which is a kind of Multiple antenna techniques, provide high data transmission rate by transmitting independent data at different transmit antenna with the same spectral resource. OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is applied to MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) system to combat ISI (Inter-Symbol Interference) and frequency selective fading channel, which degrade MIMO system performance. But, orthogonality between subcarriers of OFDM can't be guaranteed under high-mobility condition. As a result, severe performance degradation due to ICI is induced. In this paper, both ICI and CAI (Co-Antenna Interference) which occurs due to correlation between multiple antennas, and performance degradation due to both ICI and CAI are analyzed. In addition to the proposed CIR (Channel Impulse Response) estimation method for avoiding loss in data transmission rate, HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) approach for guaranteeing QoS of MIMO-OFDM receiver is proposed. We observe the results on analytical performance degradation due to both ICI & CAI are coincide with the simulation results and performance improvement due to HIC are also verified by simulation under SCM-E Sub-urban Macro MIMO channel.

A Design of Initial Cell Searcher for 3GPP LTE Downlink System (3GPP LTE 하향링크 시스템을 위한 초기 셀 탐색기 설계)

  • In 3GPP LTE downlink system, initial cell search is essential for mobile station to connect to base station. In order to obtain information of the base station, the mobile station detects frame timing, frequency offset, and cell identification using primary synchronization channel(PSC) and secondary synchronization channel(SSC), which are defined in downlink OFDMA specification. In this paper, we analyze various detection algorithms in practical environment of inter-cell-interference, frequency offset, and multi-path fading channel and propose the optimal algorithm. Simulation results show that partial correlation method (for PSC acquisition) and interference cancellation method (for SSC detection) are the most superior algorithms among the applicable algorithms. Employ these two algorithms for receiver design, initial cell search is performed with 99% probability within 70ms in the channel environment considered.

Performance of 8SQAM System in a Nonlinearly Amplified Channel Environment (비선형 증폭 채널 환경에서 8SQAM 시스템의 성능)

  • A new Modem technique - 8SQAM(8-state Superposed Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) - for use in power and bandwidth limited digital communication system is proposed. 8SQAM is free of inter-symbol interference(ISI) and generates output signals which have a smooth and continuous phase transition and a reduced envelope fluctuation by keeping correlation between amplitudes and phases of two subsequent symbols. Accordingly, 8SQAM, as compared with a conventional 8PSK, is influenced a little by ISI and inter-modulation(IM) caused by nonlinear distortions. In this paper, the performance of the 8SQAM system, in a nonlinearly amplified channel impaired by additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN), ISI and IM, is analyzed via computer simulation. The simulation result shows that 8SQAM outperforms 8PSK with roll-off value of $\alpha$=0.25 by 2.5dB in CNR to maintain BER=1$\times$10$^{-4}$ when input back-off(IBO) of HPA is 3dB.

Efficiency Algorithm of Multispectral Image Compression in Wavelet Domain (웨이브릿 영역에서 다분광 화상데이터의 효율적인 압축 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we proposed multispectral image compression method using CIP (classified inter-channel prediction) and SVQ (selective vector quantization) in wavelet domain. First, multispectral image is wavelet transformed and classified into one of three classes considering reflection characteristics of the subband with the lowest resolution. Then, for a reference channel which has the highest correlation and the same resolution with other channels, the variable VQ is performed in the classified intra-channel to remove spatial redundancy. For other channels, the CIP is performed to remove spectral redundancy. Finally, the prediction error is reduced by performing SVQ. Experiments are carried out on a multispectral image. The results show that the proposed method reduce the bit rate at higher reconstructed image quality and improve the compression efficiency compared to conventional methods. Index Terms-Multispectral image compression, wavelet transform, classfied inter-channel prediction, selective vetor quantization, subband with lowest resolution.

Fractal Analysis of Tidal Channel using High Resolution Satellite Image (고해상도 위성 영상을 이용한 조류로의 프랙털 분석)

  • Tidal channel development is influenced by sediment type, grain size, composition and tidal current. Tidal channels are usually characterized by channel formation, density and shape. Quantitative analysis of tidal channels using remotely sensed data have rarely been studied. The objective of this study is to quantify tidal channels in terms of fractal dimension and compare different inter-tidal channel patterns and compare with DEM (Digital Elevation Model). For the fractal analysis, we used box counting method which had been successfully applied to streams, coastlines and others linear features. For a study, the southern part of Ganghwado tidal flats was selected which know for high dynamics of tidal currents and vast tidal flats. This area has different widths and lengths of tidal channels. IKONOS was used for extracting tidal channels, and the box counting method was applied to obtain fractal dimensions (D) for each tidal channel. Yeochari area where channels showed less dense development and low DEM had low fractal dimenwion near $1.00{\sim}1.20$. Area (near Donggumdo and Yeongjongdo) of dendritic channel pattern and high DEM resulted in high fractal dimension near $1.20{\sim}1.35$. The difference of fractal dimensions according to channel development in tidal flats is relatively large enough to use as an index for tidal channel classification. Therefore we could conclude that fractal dimension, channel development and DEM in tidal channel has high correlation. Using fractal dimension, channel development and DEM, it would be possible to quantify the tidal channel development in association with surface characteristics.

A Study on the Transaural Filter Implementation for 5.1 Channel Speaker System (5.1채널 스피커 시스템에서 트랜스오럴 필터 구현에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis deals a method to deliver more realistic sound by cancelling the cross-talk which is inherent to the 5.1 channel speaker system. The acoustical model for cross-talk cancellation is the free field model. This model minimizes distortion of sound. I used the bark scale sound quality compensation which based on psycho-acoustic. For the surround channels, band-limited sound quality compensation is performed in the frequency domain. I also performed the sound quality assessment test on the traditional 2 channel stereo and 5.1 channel system. This test is performed in the test chamber which satisfies the ITU-R specifications. I uses the IACC (Inter-Aural Cross-Correlation) to determine the preferences of the amateur and the golden ear experts to asses the trans-aural filter. According to the result from the proposed method, I got more the 38 dB separation rates with the Dolby standard speaker array. The results on the diffusion by the subjective test with the experts shows 0.4 point increased then before.

Limited Feedback Performance Aanlysis of Regularized Joint Spatial Division and Multiplexing Scheme (정규화된 결합 공간 분할 다중화 기법의 제한된 피드백 환경에서 성능 분석)

  • The massive MIMO system, which is a core technology of 5G communication systems, has a problem that it is difficult to implement in a frequency division duplex system based on limited channel feedback because a large amount of channel information is required at the transmitting end. In order to solve this problem, the Joint Spatial Division and Multiplexing (JSDM) technique that dramatically reduces the channel information requirement by removing interference between the user groups using channel correlation information that does not change for a long time has been proposed. Recently, a regularized JSDM technique has been proposed to further improve performance by allowing residual interference between the user groups. However, such JSDM-related studies were mainly designed to focus on inter-group interference cancellation, and thus performance analysis was not performed in a more realistic environment assuming limited feedback in the intra-group interference cancellation phase. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the JSDM and regularized JSDM techniques according to the number of groups and users in a limited feedback environment, and through the simulation results, demonstrate that the regularized JSDM technique shows a more remarkable advantage compared to the existing JSDM in a limited feedback environments.

  • Spatial Audio Coding 방법 중 하나인 Binaural Cue Coding 방법은 다채널 다객체 오디오 신호를 모노나 스테레오로 다운 믹스한 신호와 spatial 큐를 전송해 디코더에서 복원하는 기술로 작은 비트 율로 다채널 오디오 신호를 전송 복원해 내는 기술이다. 본 논문은 BCC 코딩 방법에서 채널 상관도를 나타내는 ICC 파라메터에 따라 spatial cue 종류를 달리함으로써 전송되는 부가정보의 비트 율을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다.
