The Role of Authenticity and Value Similarity for Live-commerce Sellers (라이브 커머스 판매자의 진정성과 가치 유사성의 역할)

  • Purpose Live commerce, a real-time product promotion method using portable hardware, is experiencing significant growth. This approach involves product experts or celebrities endorsing products, providing consumers with valuable information to mitigate uncertainty. This research underscores the significance of the seller's authenticity and their value similarity with consumers in live commerce. The study's first objective enhance the seller's authenticity and elucidate the mechanism that influences purchase intention. The second objective is to demonstrate the interactive effect of value similarity and the seller's authenticity on positively influencing purchase intention. Design/methodology/approach This research utilized previous studies to develop models and hypotheses, focusing on adults experienced in live commerce product purchasing. The study tested the research hypothesis using 330 samples. The study analyzed the path from seller authenticity to purchase intention via structural equation modeling (AMOS 22.0), and also explored the interaction between value similarity and seller authenticity using the Process 3.1 macro. Findings The research validates that the seller's channel activities and external perception amplify the seller's authenticity, influencing purchase intentions. It also affirms that value similarity fosters seller authenticity and interactive effects, thereby boosting purchase intentions. These findings provide insights for devising seller management strategies on live commerce platforms.

  • The emergence of knowledge-sharing live streamers provides more diversified content to the live streaming platform. Analysis of the factors affecting the intention to use knowledge sharing live streaming users can allow the live streaming platform to understand better the adoption characteristics of users who follow this type of content. Help platform operators provide better services and help live streaming platforms innovate. Based on the TAM model, this research uses questionnaire surveys and structural equation models to construct a conceptual model of the influencing factors of users' intentions in the knowledge sharing live streaming and conduct an empirical analysis on the influencing factor models. The results of data analysis show that a significant influence of users' attitudes of knowledge sharing live streaming is perceived usefulness, followed by flow experience; perceived value has a positive impact on users' attitudes and intention to use, and the positive influence of users attitude significantly affect the user's intention.

A Study on the Effects of Chinese Live Commerce Service Quality Characteristics on Users' Continuous Use Intention (중국 라이브 커머스 서비스 품질 특성이 이용자의 지속이용의 도에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze users' continuous use intentions using the characteristics of live commerce in China. Design/methodology/approach - Social presence, influence of information source (Wang Hong), convenience, marketability, reliability, personal innovativeness, and social influence were selected as elements that affect the perceived value of users, and an assumption that perceived value would affect continuous use intention was set. 515 samples were obtained from Chinese consumers through a Chinese online questionaire survey. IBM SPSS 26 and AMOS was used for statistical testing. Findings - First, social presence, Wang Hong, convenience, marketability, and reliability, which are the quality characteristics of live commerce services, affect the perceived value of users and user's continuous use intention. Second, the perceived value of users plays a mediating role between the quality characteristics of live commerce service and the continuous use intention. Third, personal innovativeness plays a moderating role in the effect of live commerce service quality on the perceived value of e-commerce users. Fourth, among the relative effects of the service quality characteristic variables, the relative effect of reliability is the greatest followed by that of convenience, marketability, and Wang Hong, in order of precedence, and the effect of social presence is the smallest. Research implications or Originality - South Korean government's plan to support for advancing into live commerce in China were presented as strategic implications for exporting South Korean products to China through online services including live commerce.

The Influence of Internet Word of Mouth Information on Consumers' Purchase Intention in E-Commerce Live Broadcast (인터넷 구전 정보가 전자상거래 생방송에서 소비자 구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • In recent years, Internet Word of Mouth (IWOM) as an important way for internet consumers to obtain product information, it has become a key factor influencing consumers purchase intention. However, does IWOM also affect consumers' willingness to buy in the E-commerce live broadcast environment? What online IWOM can make a difference? And how? This study establishes a theoretical model of the impact of IWOM on consumer purchase intention in Chinese E-commerce live broadcast. Questionnaire data were collected from 204 people through the internet, with the model and the hypotheses are tested by SPSS 21.0 software. The research results show that: Firstly, the influencing factors of IWOM in the E-commerce live broadcast are different from those in general E-commerce. Secondly, anchor traits, word of mouth quantity, and product involvement have a positive impact on consumers purchase intentions, but the strength of relationship, word of mouth quality and Word of mouth timeliness do not have significantly direct effect on consumers' purchase intentions. Finally, conclusion with theoretical references and practical suggestions for E-commerce live broadcast merchants that may enter the Chinese market.

Effects of Perceived Relational Benefits in Live Commerce on Consumer Trust and Purchase Intention (라이브커머스의 지각된 관계혜택이 소비자 신뢰 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study empirically investigated the relationship benefits perceived by consumers from a live commerce channel and verified effects on trust in seller/product relationship and purchase intention to establish a strategy for a live commerce channel. An online survey was conducted among 204 women residing in Korea who had watched a video on fashion products shown by the NAVER Shopping channel. The perceived relational benefits from the live commerce channel were extracted into four groups: psychological, social, economic, and customerization benefits. Psychological benefits were found to have a positive effect on trust in seller but not trust in product. Social benefits and customization benefits had a positive effect on both trust in seller and product, but economic benefits had no effect. Trust in seller and in product had positive effects on purchase intention. Understanding consumer response in relation to perceived relationship benefits in live commerce can contribute strengthen consumer behavior research on live commerce channels. These results can guide fashion companies as they develop live commerce marketing strategies.

  • This study was intended to examine the effect of service quality on service failure and loyalty, and a survey was conducted online and offline with a focus on those in their 20s and 30s in Busan region. Specific details were as follows: First, service quality was found to have a statistically significant effect on live commerce loyalty(Hypothesis 1), live commerce service failure(Hypothesis 2), service failure of companies using the live commerce platform(Hypothesis 3), and repurchase intention of companies using the live commerce platform(Hypothesis 4). Second, service failure of live commerce companies had a significant effect on service failure of companies using the live commerce platform(Hypothesis 5), but did not have a significant effect on live commerce loyalty(Hypothesis 6) and repurchase intention of companies using the live commerce platform(Hypothesis 7). The service failure of companies using the live commerce platform did not have a statistically significant effect on loyalty of live commerce companies(Hypothesis 8), but had a statistically significant effect on repurchase intention of companies using the live commerce platform(Hypothesis 9). Finally, the repurchase intention of companies using the live commerce platform was found to have a statistically significant effect on live commerce loyalty(Hypothesis 10).

The Effect of Classic Live Streaming Performance's Service Quality on Viewer Satisfaction and Purchase Intention of On-site Performance (클래식 라이브 스트리밍 공연의 서비스 품질이 시청만족과 현장공연 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The recent surge in live streaming has also changed the market for classical performing arts. Now more than just recording live performances, content specific to live streaming platforms is being produced, and live streaming is emerging as a new alternative to promoting and enjoying classical performances. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed the effect of service quality factors of the classical live streaming performance on the viewer satisfaction and the purchase intention of the on-site performance over the data collected from 198 viewers. Results suggest that, among the service quality factors of the classic live streaming performance, video content, convenience, and price, except for real-time interaction, affected the viewer satisfaction, and viewer satisfaction in turn affected the purchase intention of the on-site performance. Thus the publicity effect of live streaming for classical performing arts seemed to be proved.

  • This study collected data from 301 men and women in their teens and 50s living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province to analyze the impact of gender, age, and experience in purchasing cosmetics through live commerce on purchasing satisfaction and continuous purchase intention. As a result, the purchasing experience through live commerce was classified as 'practical value', 'entertainment value' and 'trusted value', and purchase satisfaction and continuing purchase intention were presented in a single dimension. Depending on gender and age, the experience of purchasing cosmetics through live commerce has had a positive impact on purchasing satisfaction and continuous purchase intention. Depending on gender and age, purchase satisfaction affects continuous purchase intention. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for establishing marketing strategies that utilize live commerce by gender and age in the cosmetics industry.

Moderating Effect of Customer Involvement on the relationship of Live-commerce quality and intention to purchase (라이브커머스 품질특성과 구매의도와의 관계: 고객 관여도의 조절효과)

  • This study aims to explore the effect of quality factors and customer involvement on users' intention to purchase in the live-commerce context. For this purpose, statistical methods such as reliability test, factor analysis, ANOVA, regression analysis were carried out using the survey data from live-commerce users. The quality factors of live-commerce were classified into contents, system, service, and show host characteristics, and customer involvement was analyzed by dividing it into product involvement and service involvement. The results showed that each quality factor of live-commerce had a significant positive effect on the intention to purchase. On the other hand, customer product involvement had a significant moderating effect on content and system quality, service involvement had a significant moderating effect on service and show host characteristics. The degree of each quality factor on intention to purchase was higher as customer involvement was higher. Theoretical and practical implications were drawn from these findings.

A Study on Intention to live in Cohousing According to Housing Value (주거가치에 따른 코하우징 거주의사에 관한 연구)

  • This is a basic study to investigate possibility to application of cohousing model into Korea. Purpose of this study is to grasp respondents' housing value, and its influence on intention to live in cohousing. Research method used for this study was a social survey. Respondents were 214 married people residing in Seoul and its outskirts by accidential sampling. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program using frequency, mean, average, factor analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, multiple regression and legit analysis. Result of this study was as follows. Housing values were classified into three categories named as individualism oriented housing value, tradition oriented housing value, and economy oriented housing value. Housing values were different by respondents groups. For example, individualism oriented housing value showed difference according to age and housing area. Tradition oriented housing value showed difference according to sex, occupation, and period of residence, while economy oriented housing value showed difference according to housing type, and home ownership. In detail, men than women, single-income family than double-income family, and detached house resident than flat resident had higher tradition oriented housing value. The younger than the elder, and Seoul resident than outskirts resident had higher economy oriented housing value. Also home owner than tenant, and the higher tradition oriented group had stronger intention to live in cohousing than others.
