  • The determination of the stress intensity factors is investigated by sur-face integral method around the crack tip of the nlass~vc: concrete structure. The surface integral met hod is naturally derived from the standal-ci path integral J. Howevcr. In the J integral method, pressure in the crack-face and body forces can not be considered, while this theory has advantage of ccmsidering many kind of forces, so t.his theory will be useful in investigating more accurate strt:ss states around crack tip. Furthermore. t h~s rrlethod can elerninate unntussary process of using singular elements and fine mesh around crack tip which is used 11; modelling the singularity around crack tip. A computer program for determming $K_I$, $K_{II}$ is tfcvulopcd by applying this theory. $K_I$, $K_{II}$ values usmg X noded isoparametric elements which was proved and variation of the stress intensity factor was investigated by application of darn structures.

  • This study was tested growth hormone and fatigue materials after eight-week high-intensity interval exercise to middle aged women (40's~50's women) who have been obesity without other disease. Two group of 20 candidates were randomly divided 10 persons as exercise group and control group. Exercise was conducted 8 weeks 4 days 35 minutes, before the study each group was checked vital sign for fatigue materials. It showed the following results. First, it has been increased growth hormone level after exercise program compared each group, significantly. Secondly, it has been decreased fatigue materials due to the high-strength interval workout for 8 weeks compared control as significantly. As a result, eight-week high-intensity interval exercise could be increased growth hormone levels by reducing fatigue and it might be preventing fatigue materials levels. We would suggest that high-strength interval workout for 8 weeks could have a positive effect for preventing and reducing fatigue and related disease, obesity.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Hallyu(Korean Wave) and marketing mix elements on brand equity based on the Korean cosmetic brand in China Market. It will provide the constructive suggestions to build Korea brand equity in overseas market through empirical research. At the beginning of this study, in order to analyze the effect of Hallyu and marketing mix elements on brand equity, we studied literature reviews on relationships between brand equity and marketing mix elements, culture, Hallyu and its influences on marketing. And then, we set up the research model, hypotheses and variables. The chosen variables to investigate are price premium, price deals, store image, distribution intensity, advertising, Hallyu, perceived quality, brand loyalty, brand awareness/associations, and brand equity. The results of the study reveal that Hallyu and advertising had a positive influence on perceived quality, brand loyalty and brand awareness/associations, but the other marketing elements had partial influence. All of perceived quality, brand loyalty and brand awareness/associations showed positive effects on brand equity. Additionally, theoretical and managerial implications of brand equity and Hallyu based on the results of this study are discussed. And limitations and future research issues are also presented.

  • Phosphor powders of zinc gal late added with Mg and rare-earth elements were prepared by sol id state reaction to improve luminescent properties. Green emitting $ZnMnGa_{2}O_{4}$ reached maximum intensity at Mn=0,005 mole$\%$ and further improvement was achieved by addition of $Mg^{2+}$. Tm, Mg-added zinc gallate phosphor exhibited a strong blue band emission, peaking at about 420 nm with the maximum intensity at the concentration of 0.003 mole$\%$ Mg and 0.015 mole$\%$ Tm. Deepening of the potential wells of the ground and excited states was suggested to be the cause for the enhancement in emission intensity at optimal doping of Mg and Tm.

  • This study is concerned with an application of the boundary element method on the crack problem. The stable and efficient analysis method of two dimensional elastostatic stress intensity factor on the mode I deformations is established from the result o stress analysis for the center cracked plates. In order to precisely analyse, The subelements of quadratic element, singular elements on the crack tip and interface and division into regions are applied to elastic stress. The usefulness of the method has been tested with a center cracked plates, a double edge cracked plate and a single edge cracked plate, and the results have turned out to be fairly satisfactory.

  • The two dimensional problem of a layered tribological system(TiN/Steel) containing a vertical surface breaking crack and subject to rolling contact is considered in this study. Using finite elements and stress extrapolation method, a series of preliminary models are developed. Preliminary results indicate that the extrapolation technique is valid to determine Modes I and II stress intensity factors for cracks. In the case of TiN/Steel medium, KI and KII were determined for variations in crack length, layer thickness, and load location. The results show that KII reaches maximum values when the contact is adjacent to the crack where Mode I stresses are compressive. KII values decrease with decreased crack length and significantly decrease for reduced layer thickness.

  • The present study examines the phonetic realizations of the unstressed weak vowel /e/ in English words produced by native and Korean ESL speakers. Traditionally, the stressed elements in utterance are considered to be prominent. In this sense, the unstressed weak vowel /e/ is predicted to be shorter in length, lower in pitch and intensity than the stressed vowels. The experiment shows that native English speakers correlate the unstressed weak vowel /e/ with both shorter duration and lower pitch; Korean ESL speakers correlate it with lower pitch only. We cannot find any significant statistical difference in intensity between /e/ and the stressed vowels in both cases. This study suggests it is important to acquire and produce the correct prosodic correlates of the unstressed weak vowel /e/ for Korean ESL speakers to command more natural English intonation, since /e/ is the most common vowel in English speech and consists of the English foot rhythm along with stressed vowels.

  • This paper presents the influence of incident angles of earthquakes on inelastic dynamic responses of asymmetry single story buildings under seismic ground motions. The dynamic responses such as internal forces and rotational ductility factor are used to evaluate the importance of the incident angles of ground motions in the inelastic range of structural behavior. The base shear and torque (BST) response histories of the resisting elements and of the building are used to prove that the shape of the BST surface of the building can be a practical tool to represent those of all resisting elements. This paper also shows that the different global forces which produce the maximum demands in the resisting elements tend to converge toward a single distribution in a definable intensity range, and this single distribution is related to the resistance distribution of the building.

  • Finite element analysis(FEA) is the most popular numerical method to simulate plasticity-induced fatigue crack closure and can predict fatigue crack closure behavior. Finite element analysis under plane stress state using 4-node isoparametric elements is performed to investigate the detailed closure behavior of fatigue cracks and the numerical results are compared with experimental results. The mesh of constant size elements on the crack surface can not correctly predict the opening level for fatigue crack as shown in the previous works. The crack opening behavior for the size mesh with a linear change shows almost flat stress level after a crack tip has passed by the monotonic plastic zone. The prediction of crack opening level presents a good agreement with published experimental data regardless of stress ratios, which are using the mesh of the elements that are in proportion to the reversed plastic zone size considering the opening stress intensity factors. Numerical interpolation results of finite element analysis can precisely predict the crack opening level. This method shows a good agreement with the experimental data regardless of the stress ratios and kinds of materials.
