Ubiquitous Service Platform using Contextual Information

  • Network infrastructure has spread to an unprecedented extent and is used in various computing devices, such as smart appliances, smart phones, and embedded devices with sensors, which have all been appearing in the computing environment. To accommodate this trend, for a more intelligent service environment, the service platform needs to have abilities that facilitate the operation between services, dynamically share distributed computing resources, and manage appropriate contextual information. We have simulated a service platform to provide intelligent services using contextual information after having implemented the context management service. The context management service gathers raw contextual information from sensors and stores these in the context database. For a consistent basis of contextual information, time and location are used as the key values of the contextual information. The context management service also performs normalization to provide computable contextual information to context-aware applications. In this paper, a service platform based on Jini technology is proposed for constructing an interoperable, dynamic, and . intelligent service environment using contextual information.

3D Ground Terrain Processing Platform for Automated Excavation System

  • Efficient management of the construction heavy equipment is required to reduce the rate of carbon emissions and on-site accidents. The intelligent excavation system (IES) will improve the construction quality and productivity through information technologies and efficient equipment operation, especially in large earthwork projects. Three-dimensional digitized ground data should be required for identifying the path of heavy equipment and work-site environment. Rapid development of terrain laser scanners (TLS) is more readily to acquire the digital data. This study suggests the '3D ground terrain processing platform (3DGTPP)' including data manipulating module and analyzing module of the scanned data for intelligent earthmoving equipment operation. The processing platform consists of six modules, including scanning, registering, manipulating, analyzing, transmitting, and storing. 3D ground terrain processing platform presented in this study will provide fundamental information for intelligent excavation system (IES), which will increase the efficiency of earthworks and safety of workers in significant.

Visual Attention Model Based on Particle Filter

  • The visual attention mechanism includes 2 attention models, the bottom-up (B-U) and the top-down (T-D), the physiology of which have not yet been accurately described. In this paper, the visual attention mechanism is regarded as a Bayesian fusion process, and a visual attention model based on particle filter is proposed. Under certain particular assumed conditions, a calculation formula of Bayesian posterior probability is deduced. The visual attention fusion process based on the particle filter is realized through importance sampling, particle weight updating, and resampling, and visual attention is finally determined by the particle distribution state. The test results of multigroup images show that the calculation result of this model has better subjective and objective effects than that of other models.

지능정보사회 노인층의 디지털 정보격차와 과제 (The Digital Divide and Challenges on the Elderly in Intelligence Information Society)

  • 시대적 디지털 환경변화를 반영하는 지능정보사회는 개인적인 삶의 변화 가능성으로 기대되는 반면, 지능정보기술에 익숙하지 않은 정보취약계층의 디지털 격차는 활용 불가능의 불편함을 넘어 지능정보사회에서 누릴 수 있는 사회적·경제적 불평등이 야기되는 현실이다. 본 연구는 지능정보사회의 디지털 포용 실현을 위한 노인 미디어교육 분야의 과제를 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 '제6차 국가정보화 기본계획(2018~2022)'과 '2022 교육정보화백서(2022)'를 통해 지능정보사회와 관련되는 국가정보화 비전, 목표, 전략 및 과제를 살펴보았으며, '2022년 디지털 정보격차 실태조사' 결과를 통해 취약계층으로 분류된 노인층의 디지털 격차 현황을 통하여 디지털정보화 역량(54.5%)과 디지털 정보화 활용수준(72.6%)은 낮은 것으로 파악하였다. 지능정보사회에서 노인층의 디지털 정보격차를 완화하기 위해서 노인 미디어교육 분야에서는 지능정보기술을 활용한 지능형 미디어교육 서비스 개발, 늘배움 온라인서비스 채널을 통한 노인 미디어교육 서비스 제공, 노인층을 위한 디지털 지능형 미디어 교육 지원 등이 필요할 것으로 여겨진다.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 관심지역이 배치된 센서들에 의하여 모두 관측되고 이의 데이터가 싱크노드까지 전달되는 동시에 네트워크의 수명을 최대화하도록 센서들을 배치하는 연구는 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 센서 에너지 소모의 균등화를 통해 네트워크 수명의 최대화를 이루기 위해 불균등 분포를 따르면서 네트워크의 기능이 올바르게 동작할 수 있도록 하는 센서의 배치 패턴을 제시한다.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 관심지역이 각 센서에 의하여 얼마나 잘 센싱되는지의 정도에 대한 커버리지(coverage)와 센서에 의하여 센싱된 데이터를 싱크노드까지 얼마나 잘 전달될 수 있는지의 정도에 관한 연결성(connectivity)은 중요한 연구 분야이다. 이와 관련하여 본 논문에서는 센서 네트워크에서 p-coverage와 q-connectivity ($q{\leq}6$)를 만족하는 최적의 센서 배치패턴 문제에 관한 연구 결과를 기술한다. 특히, 1-coverage의 경우 최적이라 알려진 삼각 격자 패턴에 대하여 p-coverage와 6-connectivity을 만족하도록 하는 배치 방법을 제시한다.

  • 의료 환경이 점차 변화함에 따라 효율적인 건강관리와 의료사고를 룰이기 위한 새로운 병원정보시스템의 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 지속적인 건강관리와 의료정보 공유를 위한 외래환자 Clinical Summary 시스템을 제안하였다. 환자진료에 필요한 core data set을 XML기반의 구조적 문서로 정의하고 이를 웹 서비스(Web Services)를 통해 여러 의료기관에서 활용할 수 있도록 함으로써 진료의 계속성을 높일 수 있도록 설계하였다.

Agent for Home Server Management in Intelligent Smart Home Network

  • The intelligent home network system integrates various devices in the home into one communication network to provide information sharing, control, and operation environment between devices. This intelligent home network system operates around a home server. Home appliances in the era of the 4th industrial revolution will have numerous home servers in logical areas as the intelligent home network in the home accelerates. Therefore, the need for systematic management of home servers is emerging. We propose an agent system for efficient intelligent smart home server management. The agent system monitors the home server and operating environment for home server management of the intelligent smart home network. By referring to this monitored information, the service module of the home server is managed, and the home server is dealt with whether it is normal or not. In addition, by referring to the information collected by the service agent created in the group management server while migrating the home server, it is possible to deal with integrated meter reading, crime prevention, and topics. And when a new service is applied to the home server, it is registered in the management server and distributed to the home server through the agent, so that the intelligent smart home network can be efficiently managed.

  • Query language has been widely used as a convenient tool to obtain information from a database. However, users demand more intelligent query processing systems that can understand the intent of an imprecise query and provide additional useful information as well as exact answers. This paper introduces a meta-database and presents a query processing mechanism that supports a variety of intelligent queries in a consistent and integrated way. The meta-database extracts data abstraction knowledge form an underlying database on the basis of a multilevel knowledge representation framework KAH. In cooperation with the underlying database, the meta-database supports four types of intelligent queries that provide approximately or conceptually equal answers as well as exact ones.

A many-objective optimization WSN energy balance model

  • Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a distributed network composed of many sensory nodes. It is precisely due to the clustering unevenness and cluster head election randomness that the energy consumption of WSN is excessive. Therefore, a many-objective optimization WSN energy balance model is proposed for the first time in the clustering stage of LEACH protocol. The four objective is considered that the cluster distance, the sink node distance, the overall energy consumption of the network and the network energy consumption balance to select the cluster head, which to better balance the energy consumption of the WSN network and extend the network lifetime. A many-objective optimization algorithm to optimize the model (LEACH-ABF) is designed, which combines adaptive balanced function strategy with penalty-based boundary selection intersection strategy to optimize the clustering method of LEACH. The experimental results show that LEACH-ABF can balance network energy consumption effectively and extend the network lifetime when compared with other algorithms.
