웨이퍼 연마용 지능형 연삭시스템 개발 (Development of the intelligent grinding system for wafer grinding)

  • In silicon wafer manufacturing process, the grinding process has been adopted to improve the flatness of wafer. The grinding of wafer is usually used by the infeed grinding machine. The infeed grinding machine has been depended on imports. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the infeed grinding machine because the demand of the infeed grinding machine is increasing more and more. This paper describes the technologies of infeed grinding machine and intend to introduce the studies in the development of the intelligent grinding system for grinding of wafer. The air bearing spindle for the infeed grinding machine was developed by domestic technologies and the grinding part design of the intelligent grinding system for wafer grinding was completed.

  • As consumer in optics, electronics, aerospace and electronics industry grow, the demand for ultra precision aspherical surface lens increases higher. To enhance the precision and productivity of ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens, the following specification of ultra precision grinding system is required: the highest rotational speed of the grinder is 100,000rpm and its turning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$, positioning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$. The development process of the grinding system for the ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens for optoelectronics industry is introduced. In the work reported in this paper, an intelligent grinding system for ultra precision aspherical surface machining was designed by considering the factors affecting the surface roughness and profiles accuracy. An aerostatic form was adopted to build the spindle of the workpiece and the spindle of grinder and ultra precision LM guide way was adopted in this system.

  • Today the demand of the optical communication components has been increased. Zirconia Ferrule has become the one of the most important elements because it determines transmission efficiency and quality of information in the optical communication system. Grinding is the major process in the ferrule manufacturing process which require high processing precision. In this reseach, specially designed spindle, chucking system, loading & unloading system and cooling system, as a supporting experimental equipment for development of an Intelligent Coaxial Grinding System (ICGS) for Zirconia Ferrule processing, is developed. We are also analized the adaptability of ICGS in practical use, through the way of evaluation for the performance of the each systems above.

  • In silicon wafer manufacturing process, the grinding process has been adopted to improve the flatness of water. The grinding of wafer is usually used by the infeed grinding machine. Grinding conditions are spindle speed, feed speed, rotation speed, grinding stone etc. But grinding condition selection and analysis is so difficult in grinding machine. In the intelligent grinding system based on knowledge many researchers have studied expert system, neural network, fuzzy etc. In this paper we deal grinding condition selection method, Taguchi method and Genetic Analysis.

  • An intelligent polishing robot automation system is developed. Automatic Tool Change System(A.T.C.), Tool Posture Angle Control, and Robot Program for Polishing Application are developed and integrated into a robotic system that consists of a robot, pneumatic finding tool, and finding abrasives (papers and special films). A.T.C. is specifically designed to exchange whole grinding tool set for complete unmanned operation. Tool Posture Angle Control is developed to give a certain skew angle rather than right angle to tools on the surface for best finishing results. A.T.C. and Tool Posture Angle Control is controlled by a PC and the robot controller. Also, there have been some considerations on enhancing the performance of the system. Some elastic material is inserted between the grinding pad and the holder for better grinding contact. The robot path data is generated automatically from the NC data of previous machining process.

  • The grinding process is very complex and relates many parameters to control the process. As this reason, a theoretical analysis and a quantitative estimation of the grinding process has not been well established. In this study, the in-process monitoring system was suggested by applying the neural network for monitoring and shooting the malfunction of cylindrical plunge grinding process. This system used the power signals from the electric power meter. This neural network was composed of processing elements [4-(5-5)-3] with 4 identified power parameters. Because sensitivity is blunted some minute vibration components, the simulation result of this system has appeared about 10% erroneous recognition in the uncertain pattern and the average success rate of the trouble recognition was about 90%. Consequently, the developed system, which applied to the power signals, can be recognize enough to monitor the grinding process as in-process.

  • In this paper, design of an automatic grinding robot system for car brazing bead is introduced. Car roof and side panels are joined using brazing, and then the brazing bead is processed so that the bead is invisible after painting. Up to now the grinding process is accomplished manually. The difficulties in automation of the grinding process are induced by variation of position and shape of the bead and non-uniformity of the grinding area due to surface deformation. For each car, the grinding area including the brazing bead is sensed and then modeled using a 2-D optical sensor system. Using these model data, the position and the direction of discrete points on the car, body surface are obtained to produce grinding path for a 6 degrees of freedom grinding robot. During the process, it is necessary to sense the reaction forces continuously to prepare for the unexpected circumstances. In addition, to meet the line cycle time it is necessary to reduce the required time in sensing, signal processing, modeling, path planning and data transfer by utilizing real-time communication of the information. The key technique in the communication and integration of the complex information is obtaining in-field reliability. This automatic grinding robot system may be regarded as a jump in the intelligent robot processing technique.

  • This paper introduces the control and measurement of a double parallel robot manipulator applied for unknown geometric surface grinding. A measurement system is developed to recognize a grinding path by a vision camera and to observe a grinding load by a current sensor. With the measured fusion information, an intelligent controller identifies the unknown geometric surface and moves the robot along the grinding path with a constant grinding load.

트래버스 연삭의 최적 제어시스템 (Optimal Control System of Traverse Grinding)

  • 본 논문에서는 DEA(Differential Evolution Algorithm)기법을 이용하여 트래버스 연삭의 최적 조건을 선정하기 위한 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 최적 연삭 조건 선정을 위한 가격함수는 가공 경비, 생산율 및 표면 거칠기 등의 다중 함수식을 이용하였다. 또한 연삭 조건에 대한 구속 조건으로 열 손상 효과, 가공 툴의 강성, 연삭 휠 마모 상수 및 표면 거칠기 등을 고려하였다. 알고리즘의 구현은 산업현장에서 널리 사용되는 LabView소프트웨어를 사용하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 GA알고리즘의 결과와 비교하여 검증하였다.

인산제조공정의 모사연구 (An Intelligent Simulation of a Phosphoric Acid Plant)

  • For the identification of the optimal operating conditions of phosphoric acid plant, an intelligent simulation was performed based on the dissolution reaction of phosphate rock. A phosphoric acid plant consists of three main processes : ball-mill grinding process, rock reaction process and slurry filteration process. The grinding and filteration processes are relatively simple processes and most of the simulation works are on the reaction process. The practical operation data of phosphoric acid plant at Namhae Chemical Corp. were utilized in the simulation. The operation of the phosphoric acid plant is highly dependent on the heuristics of operators and so the expert system technology was employed. The operation of phosphoric acid plant varies with the origin of phosphate rock. Results of the simulation showed the optimal values of major process variables and optimal operating conditions. The knowledgebase for the expert system was constructed based on the interview with the experienced plant operators.
