인간 적응형 가전기기를 위한 거주자 심박동 기반 신체활동량 추정 (Metabolic Rate Estimation for ECG-based Human Adaptive Appliance in Smart Homes)

  • Intelligent homes consist of ubiquitous sensors, home networks, and a context-aware computing system. These homes are expected to offer many services such as intelligent air-conditioning, lighting control, health monitoring, and home security. In order to realize these services, many researchers have worked on various research topics including smart sensors with low power consumption, home network protocols, resident and location detection, context-awareness, and scenario and service control. This paper presents the real-time metabolic rate estimation method that is based on measured heart rate for human adaptive appliance (air-conditioner, lighting etc.). This estimation results can provide valuable information to control smart appliances so that they can adjust themselves according to the status of residents. The heart rate based method has been experimentally compared with the location-based method on a test bed.

  • A security robot system named EGIS-SR is a mobile security robot through one of the new growth engine project in robotic industries. It allows home surveillance through an autonomous mobile platform using onboard cameras and wireless security sensors. EGIS-SR has many sensors to allow autonomous navigation, hierarchical control architecture to handle lots of situations in monitoring home surveillance and mighty networks to achieve unmanned security services. EGIS-SR is tightly coupled with a networked security environment, where the information of the robot is remotely connected with the remote cockpit and patrol man. It achieved an intelligent unmanned security service. The robot is a two-wheeled mobile robot and has casters and suspension to overcome a doorsill. The dynamic motion is verified through $ADAMS^{TM}$ simulation. For the main controller, PXA270 based hardware platform based on linux kernel 2.6 is developed. In the linux platform, data handling for various sensors and the localization algorithm are performed. Also, a local path planning algorithm for object avoidance with ultrasonic sensors and localization using $StarGazer^{TM}$ is developed. Finally, for the automatic charging, a docking algorithm with infrared ray system is implemented.

A Personal Agent for Combining the Home Appliance Services and Its Learning Mechanism

  • In this paper, we propose a new personal agent for generating the combinational services from using history of appliances in the home network environment. In such environment, it is required that flexible services can be provided by combining services of appliances and unskillful users can use these services without knowledge. So, it is needed to satisfy following: (1) combinational services can be suggested automatically and (2) the increase of services can be followed. Then, we propose a new personal agent that suggests combinational services by learning the lifestyle. Its learning mechanism is based on Self-Organizing Map (SOM), and can follow the increase of services. We implemented the the agent, and use history of a user for two weeks was made to learn. As the result, we confirmed that the agent can extract services related with time or location and can suggest combinational services.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속의 이더넷 네트워크 기술을 이용한 하드웨어 통합 기술과 RT 미들웨어를 이용한 소프트웨어 통합 기술을 적용한 친환경 스마트 가전 기기들을 효과적으로 통합하고 운용하는 기술 방법에 대하여 제시한다. 또한 고속 이더넷을 이용한 분산 하드웨어 장치들의 통합 및 RT 미들웨어 기술을 이용한 소프트웨어 통합 기술을 기술하고, 고속 이더넷 기술과 RT 미들웨어 기술을 적용한 친환경 스마트 홈 가전기기의 통합 관리 시스템을 구현한다.

  • In the era of home automation, we need more context-aware and intelligent service applications than before. For these applications, a service gateway as a platform is required to bridge the gap between external data networks to internal home networks. Also, the sonics gateway enables customers to receive new classes of home services. The OSGi service platform is a good solution for the service gateway since it can deliver new applications dynamically from a broader network.   • 대부분의 가정이나 사무실에서 인테리어 또는 관상용으로 화분에 화초를 심어 기르고 있으나 바쁜 일상생활 및 전문지식 부족으로 인해 화분 관리에 어려움이 따르고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 화분관리의 어려움을 해결하기 위해 자동제어, 수동제어, 그리고 이동단말기와 PC를 통한 원격제어 및 모니터링 기능을 통해 효율적으로 화분을 관리할 수 있는 홈 네트워크 기반의 화분관리시스템을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다. 이를 위해 화분관리시스템의 구조, 정보 흐름, 동작 제어 흐름을 설계하고 설계된 내용에 기초하여 시스템을 구현하였다. 그리고 10가지 항목에 대한 기능 시험을 통해 구현된 시스템을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 기존의 관상용 화초관리 시스템 및 가전기기중심의 홈 네트워크 시스템에 비해 효율적으로 화분을 관리할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 최근의 IT산업에서 스마트폰 보급이 나날이 증가함으로써, 스마트폰을 이용하여 홈 네트워크 환경에 정보가전기기인 디지털 TV, 인터넷 냉장고, DVD, 디지털 비디오, 통신기기 등 지능형 단말을 융합한 차세대 네트워크 가전제품을 지칭하는 인터넷 가전으로 발전하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰(안드로이드)을 이용하여 댁내 정보가전기기 제어시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 누구나 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 스마트폰을 이용하여 언제 어디서든지 정보가전기기를 제어하기 위한 인터페이스를 설계 및 구현하고, 이를 통해 댁내의 정보가전기기를 제어하고 모니터링 한다.

  • Network human-robot interface is an important research topic. In home application, users access the robotic system directly via voice, gestures or through the network. Users explore a system by using the services provided by this system and to some extend users are enable to participate in a service as partners. A service may be provided by a robot, a group of robots or robots and other network connected systems (distributed sensors, information systems, etc). All these services are done in the network environment, where uncertainty such as the unstable network connection, the availability of the partners in a service, exists. Moreover, these services are controlled by several users, accessing at different time by different methods. Our research aimed at solving this problem to provide a high available level, flexible coordination system. In this paper, a multi-agent framework is proposed. This framework is validated by using our new concept of slave agents, a responsive multi-agent environment, a virtual directory facilitator (VDF), and a task allocation system using contract net protocol. Our system uses a mixed model between distributed and centralized model. It uses a centralized agent management system (AMS) to control the overall system. However, the partners and users may be distributed agents connected to the center through agent communication or centralized at the AMS container using the slave agents to represent the physical agents. The system is able to determine the task allocation for a group of robot working as a team to provide a service. A number of experiments have been conducted successfully in our lab environment using Issac robot, a PDA for user agent and a wireless network system, operated under our multi agent framework control. The experiments show that this framework works well and provides some advantages to existing systems.

  • Sensor network supports data delivery from physical world to cyber space Sensors get physical events then wireless network transfers sensor data to service server. We use sensor network technology to manage location information of asset. In ubiquitous computing environment, user localization is basic context for intelligent service. A lot of research group make effort to develop low cost localization technology. In this paper, we propose asset monitoring system using wireless sensor network. It is implemented using ad hoc network technology which can be adopted to smart home and this system can monitor the asset location and movement.

  • In this paper we implement a robot system consisted of mobile tole robot to be controlled by client through web browser Newly Internet is connected to all network of the whole world. If client uses the network like this, client can control direction of a robot that is selected in free place. In this study, system is embodied in using robot that can move freely in plan place and cod camera that can grab robot image. System transmit image data of cod camera to java server that is placed in web server of internet that is used by client. Java server display incoming data in home page using java applet. Then web browser offer robot image to client and client send remote control signal to robot. Control signal is transmitted to robot by java server and robot receiving signal moves toward direction wanted by client.
