The submerged floating tunnel (SFT) is tethered by mooring lines anchored to the seabed, therefore, the structural integrity of the anchor should be sensitively managed. Despite their importance, reaction forces cannot be simply measured by attaching sensors or load cells because of the structural and environmental characteristics of the submerged structure. Therefore, we propose an effective method for estimating the reaction forces at the seabed anchor of a submerged floating tunnel using a structural pattern model. First, a structural pattern model is established to use the correlation between tunnel motion and anchor reactions via a deep learning algorithm. Once the pattern model is established, it is directly used to estimate the reaction forces by inputting the tunnel motion data, which can be directly measured inside the tunnel. Because the sequential characteristics of responses in the time domain should be considered, the long short-term memory (LSTM) algorithm is mainly used to recognize structural behavioral patterns. Using hydrodynamics-based simulations, big data on the structural behavior of the SFT under various waves were generated, and the prepared datasets were used to validate the proposed method. The simulation-based validation results clearly show that the proposed method can precisely estimate time-series reactions using only acceleration data. In addition to real-time structural health monitoring, the proposed method can be useful for forensics when an unexpected accident or failure is related to the seabed anchors of the SFT.

Recent advancements in Alzheimer's disease treatment have focused on the elimination of amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaque, a hallmark of the disease. Monoclonal antibodies such as lecanemab and donanemab can alter disease progression by binding to different forms of Aβ aggregates. However, these treatments raise concerns about adverse effects, particularly amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA). Careful assessment of safety, especially regarding ARIA, is crucial. ARIA results from treatment-related disruption of vascular integrity and increased vascular permeability, leading to the leakage of proteinaceous fluid (ARIA-E) and heme products (ARIA-H). ARIA-E indicates treatment-induced edema or sulcal effusion, while ARIA-H indicates treatment-induced microhemorrhage or superficial siderosis. The minimum recommended magnetic resonance imaging sequences for ARIA assessment are T2-FLAIR, T2* gradient echo (GRE), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). T2-FLAIR and T2* GRE are necessary to detect ARIA-E and ARIA-H, respectively. DWI plays a role in differentiating ARIA-E from acute to subacute infarcts. Physicians, including radiologists, must be familiar with the imaging features of ARIA, the appropriate imaging protocol for the ARIA workup, and the reporting of findings in clinical practice. This review aims to describe the clinical and imaging features of ARIA and suggest points for the timely detection and monitoring of ARIA in clinical practice.
Nuclear containment building is used as second blockage to protect us from a radiation leakage caused by the natural disaster or any accidents, so it's safety is important and must be kept with continuous surveillance. In this study, we measured the strain of a nuclear containment building's wall by using FBG sensor and investigated the structural safety of a nuclear containment building. 50 FBG strain sensors and 18 FBG strain sensors were attached on the side wall and upper dome of a nuclear containment building, respectively. We measured the strains of the outside concrete wall during the Structural Integrity Test (SIT) of a nuclear containment building. The strain of an upper dome was larger than that of a side wall, about $200{\mu}{\varepsilon}$. And the very small strain was measured at vertical direction of a side wall. These experimental results were used to evaluate the structural health of nuclear containment building.

In this paper, GPS signal anomaly generation software is proposed which can be used for the analysis of GPS signal anomaly effect and the design, verification, and operation test of anomalous signal monitoring technique. For the implementation of anomalous signal generation technique, anomalous signals are generated using a commercial signal generation simulator, and their effects and characteristics are analyzed. An error model equation is proposed from the result of analysis, and the anomalous signal generation software is constructed based on this equation. The proposed anomalous signal generation software has high scalability so that users can easily utilize and apply, and is economical as the additional cost for purchasing equipment is not necessary. Also, it is capable of anomalous signal generation based on real-time signal by comparing with the commercial signal generation simulator.
Radio waves including GPS signals, various TV communications, and radio broadcasting can be disturbed by a strong solar storm, which may occur due to solar flares and produce an ionospheric delay anomaly in the ionosphere according to the change of total electron content. Electron density irregularities can cause deep signal fading, frequently known as ionospheric scintillation, which can result in the positioning error using GPS signal. This paper proposes a detection algorithm for the ionosphere delay anomaly during a solar storm by using multi-reference stations. Different TEC grid which has irregular electron density was applied above one reference station. Then the ionospheric delay in zenith direction applied different TEC will show comparatively large ionospheric zenith delay due to the electron irregularity. The ionospheric slant delay applied an elevation angle at reference station was analyzed to detect the ionospheric delay anomaly that can result in positioning error. A simulation test was implemented and a proposed detection algorithm using data logged by four reference stations was applied to detect the ionospheric delay anomaly compared to a criterion.
Structural health monitoring (SHM) systems are necessary to achieve smart predictive maintenance and repair planning as well as they lead to a safe operation of mechanical structures. In the context of vibration-based SHM the measured structural responses are employed to draw conclusions about the structural integrity. This usually leads to a mathematically illposed inverse problem which needs regularization. The restriction of the solution set of this inverse problem by using prior information about the damage properties is advisable to obtain meaningful solutions. Compared to the undamaged state typically only a few local stiffness changes occur while the other areas remain unchanged. This change can be described by a sparse damage parameter vector. Such a sparse vector can be identified by employing $L_1$-regularization techniques. This paper presents a novel framework for damage parameter identification by combining sparse solution techniques with an Extended Kalman Filter. In order to ensure sparsity of the damage parameter vector the measurement equation is expanded by an additional nonlinear $L_1$-minimizing observation. This fictive measurement equation accomplishes stability of the Extended Kalman Filter and leads to a sparse estimation. For verification, a proof-of-concept example on a quadratic aluminum plate is presented.

It is well known that the reliability of materials of mechanical products is becoming more and more important not only for assurance of quality, but for international competition of products. In order to assure the reliability of materials or mechanical products nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques are playing more important roles. The existence of Internal defects in materials or mechanical parts is served as crack initiation site during the various loading condition. Historically, nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technique has been used almost exclusively for detecting microscopic discontinuities In materials or mechanical parts after they have been in service to expand the role of the NDE to include all aspects of materials production and application. Research efforts are being directed at developing and perfecting NDE techniques capable of monitoring (1) materials production processes (2) material integrity following transport, storage and fabrication and (3) the amount and rate of degradation during service. In addition, efforts are underway to develop technique capable of quantitative discontinuity sizing, permitting determination of response using fracture mechanics analysis, as well as techniques for quantitative materials characterization to replace the qualitative techniques used in the past. In this paper, the important role of NDE technology for reliability assurance of materials/mechanical parts is introduced.
The quality control of composite structure includes inspection, testing and monitoring in all processes from receiving inspection to part fabrication. The purpose of these activities is to ensure that the design objectives are consistently achieved. The quality factors include material, receiving inspection, storage and shelf-life control, environmental control, testing, inspection and record control. This paper presents the process verification method using destructive test and quality control method in composite structure of aircraft. And it is believed that the destructive test will be basis to obtain a reliability of non-destructive test in complex composite structure and to ensure the design requirements in composite part.

It is well recently recognized that quench is one of the serious problems for the integrity of superconducting magnets, which is mainly attribute to the rapid temperature rising in the magnet due to some extrinsic factors such as conductor motion, crack initiation etc. In order to apply acoustic emission(AE)echnique effectively to monitor and diagnose superconducting magnets, it is essential to identify the sources of acoustic emission. In this paper, an acoustic emission technique has been used to monitor and diagnose quenching phenomenon in racetrack shaped superconducting magnets at cryogenic environment of 4.2K. For these purposes special attention was paid to detect AE signals associated with the quench of superconducting magnets. The characteristics of AE parameters have been analyzed by correlating with quench number, winding tension of superconducting coil and charge rate by transport current. In addition, the source location of quench in superconducting magnet was also discussed on the basis of correlation between magnet voltage and AE energy.
