  • Errors included in solutions obtained by the boundary element method are generally larger than those by the finite element method in the case that the number of discreted elements is small. One of the reasons is supposed to be attributed to the error which will be produced in the numerical integration of the singular functions in two dimensional elastic problem. Then, treatment of analytical integration to reduce computing time and to decrease errors of boundary element method are proposed.

  • The objective of this study is to implement geological functions on the Internet such as the visualization, search and analysis of geological data. To improve their performance and reduce the cost during development, special concerns should be given to the dynamic integration and interoperability of them. XML Web Service technologies can be adopted and OpenGIS specifications should be considered for the integration of distributed GIS components and their interoperability. Because standard Internet protocols and XML Messages are used in the Web Service, it makes the integration among different hardware and software systems possible. OpenGIS specifications also enable users to get benefits from geographic information and services across any network, platform and application. A prototype of efficient Internet GIS applications has been suggested in this study.

  • The pattern of economic integration in the broiler industry can be grouped into three categories; 1) non-integration, 2) quasi-integration and 3) complete-integration. It is general to see that the non-integration is quite common under the market conditions of perfect competition, whereas the complete integration is more preferable in the imperfect competition. The quasi-integration, however, exists at all phases where the complete integration is not fully formed and implemented, but the non-integration has begun to alter its nature into integrated structure. The broiler industry in Korea has been characterized with the typically non-integrated independent operation, resulting in considerable price fluctuation and unstable industry as a whole. As a means of solving out the problem stemed from the non-integrated, growers and agribusinessmen involved in broiler industry have tended to develope the regular customer relationship prevailed between two parties. In fact, it has been practiced for years that most growers have been dealt with factor suppliers or processors on a regular basis for advantages of better price and quality, useful information, management help and so forth. Under the customary transaction, no formal contract has been made due to simple buyers and sellers relations, not like the one used to be performed in the form of contractual agreement. The broiler industry realizes the direction to go ahead toward the formal arrangement of integrated system from current regular transactions. As more Vowers, suppliers and processors recognize the necessity of it, the non-integrated industry appears to become the partially integrated by developing the existing customer relationship in such a way that functions of integrators are. further expanded and better organized. As a result, a type of quasi-integration started to show up by an integrator dominated in the field of hatching, feedmilling, dressing and by a grower's coop, It is concluded, therefore, that the evolution of quasi-integration in Korea's broiler industry is continuously taking place, implying the close approach to the completely integrated broiler production and marketing system.

  • This paper presents a new method for finding the Block Pulse series coefficients and deriving the Block Pulse integration operational matrices which are necessary for the control fields using the Block Pulse functions. In order to apply the Block Pulse function technique to the problems of continuous-time dynamic systems more efficiently, it is necessary to find the more exact value of the Block Pulse series coefficients and drives the related integration operational matrices by using the Lagrange second order interpolation polynomial.

  • Competition among enterprises has been more intensified as one among supply chains in the rapidly changing environment. This study investigated the influence of the supply chain integration factors, such as integration of functions inside an enterprise, integration of suppliers, and integration of customers, on the internal and external visibility, and non-financial and financial performances of enterprises. To test these relationships, the survey was conducted on suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors in Korea which have been implementing SCM. Eighty-one questionnaires were collected and used for this study. The study results using the covariance structure analysis are showed as follows. First, the integration of suppliers had a significant influence on both the internal and the external visibility of enterprises, while the integration of functions inside an enterprise had a significant impact on only the internal visibility of enterprises, and the integration of customers on only the external visibility. Second, the internal and external visibility of enterprises had significant impacts on non-financial performance of enterprises. However, the internal and external visibility of enterprises didn't give any direct or indirect influence on the financial performance of enterprises. Third, the non-financial performance of enterprises had a significant impact on financial performance of enterprises.

  • This study derives the characteristic functions of (multivariate/generalized) t distributions without contour integration. We extended Hursts method (1995) to (multivariate/generalized) t distributions based on the principle of randomization and mixtures. The derivation methods are relatively straightforward and are appropriate for graduate level statistics theory courses.

  • Frequency equation for clamped-free circular cylindrical thin shell is derived by the application of Rayleigh-Ritz method using the Sanders shell equation. The cubic frequency equation is solved for each axial and circumferential mode number. Integration of the beam characteristic funcitions was performed via Mathematica which results in more accurate integration of the beam functions that affect the accuracy of the frequency. The natural frequencies from this calculation are compared with existing results. It shows that this calculation predicts natural frequencies closer to the test results than existing results.

  • LTPS has potential capability to realize various kinds of circuit integrations on panel glass because of its relatively higher field effect mobility of around 100cm2/Vs. Recent progress of LTPS technologies and advanced technologies, which are generally called "System on Glass (SOG)," will be discussed. The technology includes circuit integration, photo-sensor integration for input functions, and display quality and performance improvement.

  • On a bus-based shared memory multiprocessing system, the system bus monitoring and analysis are crucial for system integration test and performance analysis. In this paper, the design and implementation of a bus monitoring instrument for the TICOM-III system are decribed. The instrument dedicated to TICOM-III, which is called the Bus Information Procssing Unit, analyzes the bus state and measures the bus utilization. It performs many useful functions to help debugging the system, and offers a simple user interface.
