This paper describes the development of a new type of an integrated optical filter using the frequency characteristics of a directly-connected directional coupler with a Rib waveguide. It has been designed for multiplexing and demultiplexing light froups in different wavelength regions. Also, the effects of higher modes, couplings between input waveguides or output waveguides, and dispersion of material are considered.

Recently, RF lumped-element devices are demanded strongly in application of hand-held mobile communication equipments. Many workers have been reported RF integrated inductor as well as air cores. In order to achieve the high Q value, they removed backside of substrate by micro machining process [1] and also another MEMS-like approach such as levitated structure [2]. These approaches are capable of suppressing the parasitic effects, but low reproducibility and high cost problems remain. (omitted)

This paper presented a method of evaluting navigational safety of a ship by means of the integrated seakeeping performance index(ISPI). The ISPI is defined by measuring only any one factor through the medium of relative dangerousness of the other factors for evaluating seakeeping performance. This evaluation method can be applied to the ships for any types and loading conditions. In developing the practical evaluation system of navigational safety. it is expected to be useful for developing the optimum type of ship by applying at the initial design phase.

This paper proposes buck-type charging method using motor inductance, 3-phase inverter and bi-directional converter without an additional charger in plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The proposed system has advantages over the conventional system such as high charging efficiency, high power factor, and low total harmonic distortion. The validity of each methods are verified by theoretical analysis and simulation.

In this paper, for integrating of data on car parts we model information of parts that PDM system manages. Ontology of car parts applies existing ontology mapping research to integrate into car ontology. We propose a method for semantic integration of PLM object of MEMPHIS based on the integrated ontology. Through our method, we introduce C# ontology model to apply existing C# applications with ontology. We also classify ontology integration into three through examples and explain them. While semantically integrating PLM objects based on the integrated ontology, we explain the need for change of PLM object type and describe the process of change for PLM object type by examples.

In this paper, a CMOS integrated detection circuit for capacitive type fingerprint sensor signal processing is described. We designed a detection circuit of charge-sharing sensing scheme. The proposed detection circuit increases the voltage difference between a ridge and valley. The test chip is composed of $160{\times}192$ array sensing cells (12 by $12.7{\;}mm^{2}$). The chip was fabricated on a 0.35 m standard CMOS process. Measured difference voltage between a ridge and valley was 0.95 V.

This letter presents a crosstalk-enhanced polymer thermo-optic digital optical switch operating at a low power consumption. Modified radiation-type attenuators are integrated in a series with a conventional $1{\times}2$ digital optical switch. A low optical crosstalk of less than -45 dB is attained at a low applied switching power of 60 mW, and an insertion loss of about 1.1 dB is exhibited.

The application of photovoltaics into building as integrated building components has been paid more attention worldwide. Photovoltaics or solar electric modules are solid state devices, directly converting solar radiation into electricity; the process does not require fuel and any moving parts, and produce no pollutants. So, the purpose of this research is to present how to get PVIB which can be applied building facade and how to apply it. From the basis of these results this study will intend to develop an integrated for optimal design of PV System.

In acquiring the surface information of a part, two types of measuring machines have been used: contact type and non-contact type. Since each measuring device has the pres and cons, an integrated measuring system is proposed to acquire the optimal point data. In order to implement the integrated measuring system, the relationship of coordinate systems between each measuring device should be established. In this paper, a new datum fixture and a calibration method for the multiple-sensor measuring system are proposed. The datum fixture is designed to interface two machines, a CMM and a laser scanner. The position of the datum fixture is calibrated by the axis information off motorized rotation stage which is used for a part setup.
