Switching system can be regarded as the key node of Integrated Services Digital Networks(ISDN) because it plays the Important role in realization of ISDN. As ISDN is evolved from the telephony Integrated Digital Network(IDN), the switching system for ISDN will be evolved from the function and structure of telephony digital switching system. At near future, ISDN switching system is expected to implement the integrated access and transparent switching functions for both voice and data. As final goals of switching system, advanced switching methods for information having various traffic characteristics such as voice, data, text and image should be considered. This paper considered. This paper will show some of the fundamental design challenges and architectural trends in ISDN switching system.

본 논문에서는 기지국과 단말기간의 전파지연이 비교적 짧은 마이크로셀 환경의 패킷 CDMA망에서 음성과 데이터를 통합 서비스하기 위한 MAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 프로토콜을 위한 시스템의 상향링크 채널은 프레임들 구성하는 타임 슬롯과 각 슬롯별 확산코드에 의하여 제공된다. 지연에 민감한 음성 트래픽에 더 높은 우선순위를 부여하여, 음성 트래픽인 경우에는 발음구간 동안 임의의 확산코드를 예약하여 서비스된다. 반면, 데이터 트래픽은 매 패킷이 발생할 때마다 기지국으로부터 수신한 현재 슬롯의 예약 상태 정보를 기반으로 서비스된다. 성능분석의 결과, 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 음성과 데이터 패킷간의 충돌이 전혀 발생하지 않으므로 주어진 패킷 누락률 범위 내에서 수용 가능한 최대 음성 단말기 수를 증가시킬 수 있었다.

본 논문에서는 cut-through 스위칭 방식으로 음성과 데이터를 집적하였을때, 그 성능을 분석하고 패켓 스위칭 방식과 비교하였다. 우선 음성과 데이터 패켓이 네트웍 내의 한 node를 cut-through할 확률을 유도하고, 각각의 네트웍 delay의 Laplace transform을 구했다. 분석결과로 부터 cut-through 스위칭 방식이 패켓 스위칭 방식보다 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있다.

본 논문에서는 음성호 및 데이타호를 동시에 서비스하는 계층구조를 가지는 CDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 트래픽 특성을 고려한 효율적인 채널 할당 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안된 채널할당 알고리듬은 신규호나 핸드오프호가 마이크로셀에 접속을 시도하고 만약 여유채널이 존재하지 않으면 상위계층인 매크로셀로 오버플로우(Overflow)되는 방식을 Birth-Death Process를 이용한 Stochastic Model로써 모델링한다. 특히, 이 모델에서는 핸드오프 전용채널을 두고 이 핸드오프 전용채널의 수에 따른 블록킹확률을 구한다. 이 결과를 이용하여 적정한 서비스품질(QoS)을 만족하는 핸드오프 전용채널의 수를 결정한다.

How to promote students interest is very important in undergraduate engineering education. One of the techniques for achieving this is select appropriate projects and to integrated them with regular courses. In this paper, a voice recognition system for autonomous robots is proposed as a project to educate students about microprocessors efficiently. The proposed system consists of a microprocessor and a voice recognition processor that can recognize a limited unmber of voice patterns. The commands of autono-mous robots are classified and are organized such that one voice recognition processor can distinguish robot commands under each directory. Thus. the proposed system can distinguish more voice commands than one voice recognition processor can. A voice com-mand systems for three autonomous robots is implemented with a microprocessor Inter 80CI196KC and a voice recognition processor HM2007. The advantages in integrating this system with regular courses are also described.

본 논문에서는 음성과 데이타를 통합 서비스하기 위한 패킷 CDMA 망에서 확산코드 감지기법과 예약 기법을 적용한 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하고, 이에 대한 성능을 분석했다. 지연에 민감한 음성트래픽에 더 높은 우선순위를 부여하여 음성 트래픽인 경우에는 발음구간 동안 예약되지 않은 임의의 확산코드를 예약하여 서비스된다. 반면, 데이타 트래픽은 매 패킷이 발생할 때마다 음성 단말기가 사용하지 않는 임의의 확산코드를 선택하여 패킷을 전송한다. 성능분석의 결과, 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 음성과 데이타 패킷간의 충돌이 전혀 발생하지 않기 때문에 수용 가능한 최대 음성 단말기 수를 증가시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 데이타 트래픽인 경우에는 음성 트래픽보다 낮은 우선순위로 인하여 음성 트래픽의 부하에 상당히 민감한 성능을 나타냈지만, 채널의 수를 증가시킴에 따라 비교적 안정적인 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

We analyze a voice/data integrated traffic model of the cellular mobile communication system with hybrid guard channels for voice and handoff calls. In a multi-service integrated wireless environment, quality of service guarantee is crucial for smooth transportation of real time information. Real time voice traffic requires a guaranteed upper bounded on both delay and packet error rate, whereas data traffic does not. Voice traffic has high transmission priority over data packets. Thus one of the important problems is the design of admission control schemes which can efficiently accommodate the differential quality of service requirements. In this paper, a hybrid guard channel scheme is considered in which arriving calls are assigned channels as long as the number of busy channels in the cell is below a predetermined first threshold. When the number of busy channels reaches the first threshold, new originating data calls are queued in the infinite data buffer. Then reaches second threshold, only handoff calls are assigned the remaining channels and new originating voice calls are blocked. We evaluate the system by a two-dimensional Markov chain approach and generating function method and obtain performance measures included blocking probability and forced termination probability.

현재 통신 시스템은 무선화와 멀티미디어화의 두 방향으로 진행되고 있으며 이전 시스템에 비해 커다란 전송 용량을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 통신 서비스는 서로 다른 전송률과 특징을 가지는 두 개의 다른 서비스 형태로 존재한다. 예를 들어 음성/비디오 서비스는 약간의 오류를 허용하나 실시간 전송이 돼야 하고, 데이터는 실시간성은 떨어지나 하나의 비트 오류라도 재전송을 해야 한다. 음성/데이터 혼합 트래픽의 갑작스러운 증가에 대해 오류가 허용되는 실시간 음성/영상 데이터에 대해 우선 전송하고 지연이 허용되는 일반 데이터는 BER이 낮아진 후에 전송하면 높은 쓰루풋을 갖게 될 것이다. 이 논문에서는 비동기 unslotted ALOHA CDMA 시스템을 가정하여 이 시스템에 대해 혼합된 음성/영상 및 컴퓨터 데이터가 전송될 때 트래픽 용량의 계산식을 유도하였으며 그 결과를 제시하였다. 이를 이용하면 시스템의 트래픽 분석과 변화하는 트래픽에 대해 이론적 해석이 쉬워지리라 본다.

이 연구에서는 음성과 데이터가 통합된 트래픽에 대하여 Expressnet과 FDDI의 성능을 비교하였다. 모든 시뮬레이션 결과에서 FDDI가 더 많은 음성 스테이션을 지원하는 것으로 나타났다. Expressnet에 비하여, FDDI가 파일전송형 데이타 트래픽에 대하여 높은 throughput을 보였으나 대화형 트래픽에 대해서는 긴 지연 시간을 보였다.

버스形 데이터/音聲 共用 LAN에서 채널使用을 데이터와 音聲傳送區間으로 分離하고 데이터는 CSMA/CD로, 音聲은 TDM으로 傳送하되 音聲　止期間을 檢出하여 이를 감안한 실질 音聲負荷에 따라 데이터와 音聲傳送 區間을 適應制御할 수 있는 CSMA/CD-TDM/SD方式을 提案하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 旣存의 方式들보다 데이터의 傳送性能 및 最大許容음성링크數의 改善을 볼 수 있었다.
