This paper suggests an integrated method for discovering knowledge from a large database. Our approach applies an attribute-oriented concept hierarchy ascension technique to extract generalized data from actural data in databases, induction of decision trees to measure the value of information, and knowledge reduction of rough set theory to remove dispensable attributes and attribute values. The integrated algorithm first reduce the size of database for the concept generalization, reduces the number of attributes by way of elimination condition attributes which have little influence on decision attribute, and finally induces simplified decision rules removing the dispensable attribute values by analyzing the dependency relationships among the attributes.
Maintenance equipments, tools, manuals and documents are needed to maintain the weapon systems. At the time, a lot of technical materials are maintained and used individually at a various places and organizations. Thus, maintenance engineers can not get the necessary informations quickly and the efficiency of maintenance was low. In this paper, first we analyze the maintenance processes in weapon systems and define the total measure to evaluate the maintenance efficiency of weapon systems. Second, we propose a implementation procedure to integrated maintenance system.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce two integrated urban development projects in Japan that take full advantage of flood-control reservoirs: the Tetsugakudo Park Collective Housing Development Project and the Koshigaya Lake Town Project. The former project - implemented cooperatively by the Tokyo metropolitan government in charge of river management, Shinjuku and Nakano wards (in Tokyo) responsible for park management, and the Urban Renaissance Agency, a housing project developer - set a significant precedent for three-dimensional river use by realizing the three-dimensional integrated development of a flood control reservoir, a park, and collective housing. The Koshigaya Lake Town Project, launched as a drastic storm water management measure for a low-lying area often plagued by flooding, has achieved a sustainable coexistence between the waterfront environment and the urban living environment, with an artificial flood-control reservoir as the core for urban development. This project is fully committed to environmental coexistence through the optimal use of local environmental resources, with the cooperation of the central government, Saitama Prefecture and Koshigaya City.
The atmospheric meteorology parameters of the earth, such as temperature, pressure, and humidity, strongly influence the propagation of signals in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs). The propagation delays associated with GNSS signals can be modeled and explained based on the atmospheric temperature, pressure, and humidity, as well as the locations of the satellites and receivers. In this paper, we propose an optimized and simplified low cost GNSS base weather station that can be used to provide a global estimate of the integrated water vapor value. Our algorithm can be used to measure the zenith tropospheric delay based on the measured propagation delays in the received signals. We also present the results of the data measurements performed at our station located in the Tlemcen region of Algeria.
For General Purpose Inverter dedicated in Motor drive, this market is blood market due to low market price. So, developing engineer must consider the cost reduction plan and do action. This inverter always needs to measure current and shunt solution can be one of cost reduction solution.
The main purpose of this study was to identify the effects of integrated stress management program on the stress symptoms of psychophysiological patients. especially patients with peptic ulcer. The study employed a quasi-experimental design using two different experimental groups. The samples in the integrated stress management program participated in autogenic training with biofeedback. discussions on effective coping method. cognitive. behavioral, and emotional management. They were also provided with an educational booklet on stress management and an tape on progressive muscie relaxation. Each session lasted one hour and the program consisted of seven sessions over four weeks. The other group was only given an tape on progressive muscle relaxation. The data were collected from May 20 to september 25, 1996. A total 47 patients from one university hospital located in Seoul participated, experiment group 1(integrated stress management training) had 23 subjects and experiment group 2(progressive muscle relaxation training) had 24 subjects. The effects of these programs were measured by the stress symptom scale developed by Kogan(1991) which was translated by Lee(1992) and the healing status of the ulcer evaluated by a physician. The data were analyzed using Chi-square test, t- test, ANOVA, repeated measure ANOVA. The result are as follows : 1. The integrated stress management group reported a significantly lower stress symptom score than the group given the progressive muscle relaxation only. 2. The integrated stress management group showed a significantly improved ulcer status as compared to the group given a progressive muscle relaxation only. In conclusion, it was found that the integrated stress management program was more effective in decreasing self-reported stress and physiological symptoms among patients with peptic ulcer as compared to the progressive muscle relaxation group. Based on this finding, the following suggestions can be made. 1. It is necessary to broaden the scope of nursing practice for psychophysiological patients so nurses can include stress management as part of patient care. 2. It is necessary to develop stress management program for other patients whose symptoms are known to be related to stress. 3. It is necessary to replicated this study with a larger sample in different settings.

Since the optimized use of sonar systems for target tracking is a practical problem for naval operations, the measure of mission achievability is needed for preparing efficient sonar-maneuver tactic. In order to quantify the mission achievability or Measure Of Effectiveness(MOE) for given sonar-maneuver tactics, we developed and tested a simulation algorithm. The proposed algorithm for tracking is based on Measure Of Performance(MOP) for localization and tracking system of sonar against target. Probability of Detection(PD) using steering beam patterns referenced to the aspect angle of sonar is presented to consider the tracking-performance of sonar. Also, the integrated software package, named as Optimal Acoustic Search Path Planning(OASPP) is used for generating sonar-maneuver patterns and vulnerability analysis for a given scenario. Through simulation of a simple case for which the intuitive solution is known, the proposed algorithm is verified.

The optimal use of sonar systems for detection is a practical problem in a given ocean environment. In order to quantify the mission achievability in general, measure of effectiveness(MOE) is defined for specific missions. In this paper, using the specific MOE for detection, which is represented as cumulative detection probability(CDP), an integrated software package named as Optimal Acoustic Search Path Planning(OASPP) is developed. For a given ocean environment and sonar systems, the discrete observations for detection probability(PD) are used to calculate CDP incorporating sonar and environmental parameters. Also, counter-detection probability is considered for vulnerability analysis for a given scenario. Through modeling and simulation for a simple case for which an intuitive solution is known, the developed code is verified.
The loss of connectivity and fragmentation of forest landscapes are seriously hindering dispersal of many forest-dwelling species, which may be critical for their viability and conservation by decreasing habitat area and increasing distance among habitats. For understanding their environmental impacts, numerous spatial models exist to measure landscape connectivity. However, general relationships between functional connectivity and landscape structure are lacking, there is a need to develop landscape metrics that more accurately measure landscape connectivity in whole landscape and individual patches. We reviewed functional and structural definition of landscape connectivity, explained their mathematical connotations, and applied representative 13 indices in 3 districts of Seoul having fragmented forest patches with tits, the threshold distance was applied 500m by considering the dispersal of tits. Results of correlation and principal component analysis showed that connectivity indices could be divided by measurement methods whether they contain the area attribute with distance or not. Betweenness centrality(BC), a representative index measuring distance and distribution among patches, appreciated highly stepping stone forest patches, and difference of probability of connectivity(dPC), an index measuring including area information, estimated integrated connectivity of patches. Therefore, for evaluating landscape connectivity, it is need to consider not only general information of a region and species' characteristics but also various measuring methods of landscape connectivity.
