  • For designing the radar integrated data network, we construct the network structure with a spatial hieratchy decomposition scheme. The RIDN can be decomposed into several subent classes, those of which are composed of the several group classes of radar sites, In a group class. The communication nodes of a radar site are modeled by the software modules formulated with the statistical attributes of discrete events. And we get the analysis over the network through the separately constructed infra group level models which were coded with the C language. From the result of the simulation. We could findthe fact that the data integration system;s performance approaches to the theordtically calculated value after being stable. And also we could get the packet processing status of a communication module’s inner processor which is difficult to oberve through the mathematical calculation tin the subnet model of the integrated data network.

  • In this paper, an integrated network management agent has been proposed and implemented to support different network management protocols, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for Internet and CMIP (Common Management Information Protocol) for OSI networks. We used MOVI (Managed Object View Interface) concept to integrate the different network management systems. We reviewed three models to design the integrated network management agent and then selected a suitable model among them. The logical structure of an agent, the implementation method and the operation of each module have been shown in this paper. The osimis and ucd-snmp network management system have been used as the reference systems for implementing our system. The integrated network management agent can support the internetworking between Internet and OSI networks in the aspect of network management. Using MOVI concept, if a new management system is introduced, internetworking with this can be achieved by adding the new interface on the view interface of managed object.

  • KORDI(Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute) built a research vessel JANG-MOK with 40 G/T for a survey and observation of oceanographic environmental characteristics at coastal region in September 2005. This paper introduced the implementation for hardware and software of an integrated information network that loaded in JANG-MOK, and depicted the function of an integrated information network, such as an installation of ga-bit based network, RS232C serial & UDP network interface of instruments, a data logging software of measured data, Hawkeye II software for supporting the efficient survey works, and a real-time navigation viewer. In addition, we presents the another implementation method for an integrated information network of oceanographic research vessels.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to reduce mobile social network services (SNSs) traffic using a mobile integrated SNS gateway (MISG) to improve network communication performance between the mobile client and SNS servers. The gateway connects the client and SNS servers using the contents adapter and the web service adapter and helps to improve communication performance using its cache engine. An integrated SNS application, the user's client, communicates with the gateway server using integrated SNS protocol. In addition, the gateway can alert the client to new SNS contents because of the broker server implemented by the message queuing telemetry transport protocol. We design and develop the modules of the gateway server and the integrated SNS application. We then measure the performance of MISG in terms of content response time and describe the result of the experiment.

  • Wireless body area network (WBAN) is an emerging short-range wireless communication network with sensor nodes located on, in or around the human body for healthcare, entertainment and ubiquitous computing. In WBANs, energy is severely constrained which is the prime consideration in the medium access control (MAC) protocol design. In this paper, we propose a novel MAC protocol named Energy-efficient Relay MAC with dynamic Power Control (ERPC-MAC) to save energy consumption. Without relying on the additional devices, ERPC-MAC employs relaying nodes to provide relay service for nodes which consume energy fast. Accordingly the superframe adjustment is performed and then the network topology can be smoothly switched from single-hop to multi-hop. Moreover, for further energy saving and reliability improvement, the dynamic power control is introduced to adjust the power level whenever a node transmits its packets to the coordinator or the relaying node. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first effort to integrate relay, topology adjustment and power control to improve the network performance in a WBAN. Comprehensive simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance. The results show that the ERPC-MAC is more superior to the existing standard and significantly prolongs the network lifetime.

  • Future warfare is evolving with advanced science and technology, introducing a variety of unmanned and manned combat systems. These systems generate and exchange massive amounts of information, challenging current tactical communication systems as a foundation for future communication infrastructure. To analyze the information distribution capability of the Army TIGER corps, this paper examines four scenarios: standalone ground network operation, integrated network operation, load distribution, and error recovery. Utilizing M&S results, we highlight the potential of a multilayer integrated command and control network, incorporating ground, air, and space networks, to enhance the reliability and stability of the overall communication network.

  • Continuous multi-interval prediction (CMIP) is used to continuously predict the trend of a data stream based on various intervals simultaneously. The continuous integrated hierarchical temporal memory (CIHTM) network performs well in CMIP. However, it is not suitable for CMIP in real-time mode, especially when the number of prediction intervals is increased. In this paper, we propose a real-time integrated hierarchical temporal memory (RIHTM) network by introducing a new type of node, which is called a Zeta1FirstSpecializedQueueNode (ZFSQNode), for the real-time continuous multi-interval prediction (RCMIP) of data streams. The ZFSQNode is constructed by using a specialized circular queue (sQUEUE) together with the modules of original hierarchical temporal memory (HTM) nodes. By using a simple structure and the easy operation characteristics of the sQUEUE, entire prediction operations are integrated in the ZFSQNode. In particular, we employed only one ZFSQNode in each level of the RIHTM network during the prediction stage to generate different intervals of prediction results. The RIHTM network efficiently reduces the response time. Our performance evaluation showed that the RIHTM was satisfied to continuously predict the trend of data streams with multi-intervals in the real-time mode.

  • Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) algorithms play an important role in ensuring quality of service in an integrated HetNets (Heterogeneous Networks). The primary objective of this paper is to develop a multi-criteria vertical handoff decision algorithm (VHDA) for best access network selection in an integrated Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)/Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS)/Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) system. The proposed design consists of two parts, the first part is the evaluation of an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to decide the relative weights of handoff decision criteria and the second part computes the final score of the weights to rank network alternatives using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). SAW ranks the network alternatives in a faster and simpler manner than AHP. The AHP-SAW mathematical model has been designed, evaluated and simulated for streaming video type of traffic. For other traffic type, such as conversational, background and interactive, only simulation results have been discussed and presented in brief. Simulation results reveal that the hierarchical modelling and computing provides optimum solution for access network selection in an integrated environment as obtained results prove to be an acceptable solution to what could be expected in real life scenarios.

  • This study is conducted to examine the optimal integrated security policy based on network in case of attacks by implementing unique security policies of various network security equipments as an algorithm within one system. To this end, the policies conduct the experiment to implement the optimal security system through the process of mutually integrating the unique defense policy of Firewall, VPN(Virtual Private Network), IDS(Intrusion Detection System), and IPS(Intrusion Prevention System). In addition, this study is meaningful in that it designs integrated mechanism for rapid detection of system load caused by establishment of the security policy and rapid and efficient defense and secures basic network infrastructure implementation.
