일체형 PM/NOx 동시저감장치의 최적 설계에 대한 기초 연구 (A Basis Study on the Optimal Design of the Integrated PM/NOx Reduction Device)

  • 대기오염물질과 온실가스 배출량을 저감 시키기 위한 배기 후처리 장치에 대한 연구는 활발히 진행 중이지만 그 중 선박용 입자상물질/질소산화물(PM/NOx) 동시저감 장치에서는 엔진에 미치는 배압 및 필터 담체 교체에 대한 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 PM/NOx를 동시저감 할 수 있는 일체형 장치의 최적 설계를 위해 장치 내부 유동과 입·출구 압력을 통한 배압의 변화를 연구하여 적절한 기준을 제시하였다. Ansys Fluent를 활용하여 디젤미립자필터(DPF) 및 선택적촉매환원법(SCR)에 다공성 매체 조건을 적용하였고 공극률은 30 %, 40 %, 50 %, 60 % 및 70 %로 설정하였다. 또한, 엔진 부하에 따른 Inlet 속도를 경계 조건으로 7.4 m/s, 10.3 m/s, 13.1 m/s 및 26.2 m/s로 적용하여 배압에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. CFD 분석 결과, 장치의 입구 온도 보다 입구 속도에 따른 배압의 변화율이 크고 최대 변화율은 27.4 mbar였다. 그리고 모든 경계 조건에서의 배압이 선급 기준인 68 mbar를 초과하지 않았기 때문에 1800 kW 선박에 적합한 장치로 평가되었다.

통계적 방법을 이용한 Lactobacillus plantarum과 Lactobacillus reuteri 의 유효 배지 성분의 탐색 (Screening of Effective Medium Composition for the Cultivation of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus reuteri Using Statistical Methods)

  • 본 연구는 가축용 생균제로서 이용성이 우수한 $Lactobacillus$ $plantarum$$Lactobacillus$ $reuteri$의 대량생산을 위한 경제적 최적 배지조성을 도출하기 위하여 수행되었다. 두 균주의 배양을 위한 배지성분 요인들은 유산균 배지로 알려진 MRS broth를 기준으로 하여, sucrose, glucose, molasses, yeast extract, corn steep liquor, soy peptone, dipotassium phosphate, manganese chloride, magnesium chloride, tween 80, sodium chloride, sodium acetate, ammonium citrate, sodium sulphate 및 ferrous sulphate 등 총 15가지를 선택하였다. 각 배지성분들이 각 균주들의 세포성장에 미치는 요인분석은 20개의 실험으로 구성된 Plackett-Burman design 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 $L.$ $plantarum$의 성장에 있어서는 sucrose, glucose, molasses, yeast extract, corn steep liquor, soy peptone, sodium acetate, ammonium citrate 등이 긍정적인 효과(positive effect)를 나타내었다. $L.$ $reuteri$의 경우, yeast extract, soy peptone, $K_2PHO_4$, tween 80에서 수준간의 격차가 큰 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 두 가지 균주들에서 얻어진 표준화된 통합적 효과의 주 효과를 분석한 결과, sucrose, yeast extract, soy peptone에서 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 최종적으로 $L.$ $plantarum$$L.$ $reuteri$ 두 균주에 공통적으로 적용할 수 있는 유효 배지 성분들로 sucrose (20.0 g/l), glucose (5.0 g/l), soy peptone (11.0 g/l), yeast extract (5.0 g/l), $K_2PHO_4$ (0.2 g/l), $CH_3COONa$ (2 g/l) 및 $MgCl_2$ (0.02 g/l)를 선택하였다.

유비쿼터스 에코시티 평가지표 개발 및 적용 연구 (Development of Indicators to Assess the Quality of Ubiquitous-Ecological Cities)

  • 유비쿼터스 에코시티(U-Eco City)는 첨단 IT기술을 도시공간과 접목시킨 유비쿼터스 도시(U-City)와 지속가능한 생태도시(Eco-City)의 개념이 융 복합된 새로운 도시패러다임이다. 하지만 국내외적으로 처음 시도되고 있기 때문에 U-Eco City에 대한 개발목표, 계획안, 실시설계안, 기술 및 서비스 요소 등이 혼재하여 명확히 정립되지 않고 있다. 무엇보다도 U-Eco City의 무엇을 어떻게 평가해야 하는가에 대한 구체적인 논의가 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 U-Eco City의 도시 질과 환경을 평가하기 위한 지표체계를 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 국내외에서 논의가 미흡했던 U-Eco City에 대한 개념을 정립하여 지속가능한 도시의 질을 달성하기 위한 개념적 틀을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 U-Eco City의 개념은 기존도시의 경제적 발전과 성장위주 개발방식에서 도시의 질적 환경과 지속성 차원의 복합적인 영향을 종합적으로 파악해야 한다는 점을 제시하고 있다. 이 같은 연구 성과는 향후 도시개발에서 관리체계의 근거로 활용될 수 있다. 둘째, 개발된 평가체계는 의식조사를 통해 평가지표로서의 완성도를 높였다. 전문가 및 이해관계자를 대상으로 설문조사한 결과, 도시의 질적 측면은 안전성이 상대적으로 중요한 요소로 도출되었다. 도시의 지속성 측면에서는 사회, 환경, 경제 모두 중요도가 유사하게 나타났으나 그 중에서 환경요소가 높게 나타났다. 이는 과거 도시개발시 우선요소로 안전성과 경제성을 둔 반면 현대에 들어 환경문제의 심각성을 인식하고 '저탄소 녹색성장'과 같은 각종 정책이 영향을 미친 것으로 해석된다. 마지막으로 평가체계를 기반으로 사례대상지역을 선정하였으며 실시설계안을 중심으로 평가를 실시하였다. 평가결과, '안전성'과 '경제성' 부문이 높게 평가되었으며, 이는 의식조사에서는 환경적 지속성이 중요시 된 반면 설계안에서는 아직까지 경제성장 위주의 개발계획이 우선적으로 이루어진 것을 보여준다. 따라서 향후 도시개발시 환경적 측면의 보완이 필요하며, 경제성장과 환경적 지속성간의 연계방안도 제시되어야 할 것이다.

설비공학 분야의 최근 연구 동향: 2014년 학회지 논문에 대한 종합적 고찰 (Recent Progress in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Research: A Review of Papers Published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering in 2014)

  • This article reviews the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering during 2014. It is intended to understand the status of current research in the areas of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, and indoor environments of buildings and plant facilities. Conclusions are as follows. (1) The research works on the thermal and fluid engineering have been reviewed as groups of heat and mass transfer, cooling and heating, and air-conditioning, the flow inside building rooms, and smoke control on fire. Research issues dealing with duct and pipe were reduced, but flows inside building rooms, and smoke controls were newly added in thermal and fluid engineering research area. (2) Research works on heat transfer area have been reviewed in the categories of heat transfer characteristics, pool boiling and condensing heat transfer and industrial heat exchangers. Researches on heat transfer characteristics included the results for thermal contact resistance measurement of metal interface, a fan coil with an oval-type heat exchanger, fouling characteristics of plate heat exchangers, effect of rib pitch in a two wall divergent channel, semi-empirical analysis in vertical mesoscale tubes, an integrated drying machine, microscale surface wrinkles, brazed plate heat exchangers, numerical analysis in printed circuit heat exchanger. In the area of pool boiling and condensing, non-uniform air flow, PCM applied thermal storage wall system, a new wavy cylindrical shape capsule, and HFC32/HFC152a mixtures on enhanced tubes, were actively studied. In the area of industrial heat exchangers, researches on solar water storage tank, effective design on the inserting part of refrigerator door gasket, impact of different boundary conditions in generating g-function, various construction of SCW type ground heat exchanger and a heat pump for closed cooling water heat recovery were performed. (3) In the field of refrigeration, various studies were carried out in the categories of refrigeration cycle, alternative refrigeration and modelling and controls including energy recoveries from industrial boilers and vehicles, improvement of dehumidification systems, novel defrost systems, fault diagnosis and optimum controls for heat pump systems. It is particularly notable that a substantial number of studies were dedicated for the development of air-conditioning and power recovery systems for electric vehicles in this year. (4) In building mechanical system research fields, seventeen studies were reported for achieving effective design of the mechanical systems, and also for maximizing the energy efficiency of buildings. The topics of the studies included energy performance, HVAC system, ventilation, and renewable energies, piping in the buildings. Proposed designs, performance performance tests using numerical methods and experiments provide useful information and key data which can improve the energy efficiency of the buildings. (5) The field of architectural environment was mostly focused on indoor environment and building energy. The main researches of indoor environment were related to the evaluation of work noise in tunnel construction and the simulation and development of a light-shelf system. The subjects of building energy were worked on the energy saving of office building applied with window blind and phase change material(PCM), a method of existing building energy simulation using energy audit data, the estimation of thermal consumption unit of apartment building and its case studies, dynamic window performance, a writing method of energy consumption report and energy estimation of apartment building using district heating system. The remained studies were related to the improvement of architectural engineering education system for plant engineering industry, estimating cooling and heating degree days for variable base temperature, a prediction method of underground temperature, the comfort control algorithm of car air conditioner, the smoke control performance evaluation of high-rise building, evaluation of thermal energy systems of bio safety laboratory and a development of measuring device of solar heat gain coefficient of fenestration system.

  • 최근 무선 통신 기술이 발달함에 따라 유비쿼터스 환경과 그와 관련된 실용화 기술에 대한 관심이 크게 고조되고 있다. 그리고 유비쿼터스의 개념이 기존 IT 분야에 접목되면서 유비쿼터스 환경을 근간으로 한 자동화 시스템의 필요성이 부각되고 있다. 또한, 환율 상승과 고유가로 인해 대형 건물과 공공 기관에서의 에너지 절약 방안 수립에 대한 필요성이 강력히 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RFID/USN 기술을 이용하여 에너지 절약을 위해 전등, 난방기 그리고 에어컨과 같은 건물 내 전자기기의 전력 소비를 효율적으로 관리하는 절전관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 USN을 이용하여 전자기기에 대한 중앙 관리 및 상태 정보를 감시하고, USN을 이용하여 주변 환경 및 전력 소비에 대한 실시간 정보를 수집한다. 특히, 제안하는 시스템은 실시간 수집 된 정보를 분석하여 최상의 절전 효과를 가지는 지능형 스케줄러를 제공한다. 마지막으로, 본 논문은 제안하는 시스템을 다양한 환경에서 실험해 보고 기존 시스템과의 차별성과 현실성을 보인다.

Target Identification for Metabolic Engineering: Incorporation of Metabolome and Transcriptome Strategies to Better Understand Metabolic Fluxes

  • Metabolic engineering is now a well established discipline, used extensively to determine and execute rational strategies of strain development to improve the performance of micro-organisms employed in industrial fermentations. The basic principle of this approach is that performance of the microbial catalyst should be adequately characterised metabolically so as to clearlyidentify the metabolic network constraints, thereby identifying the most probable targets for genetic engineering and the extent to which improvements can be realistically achieved. In order to harness correctly this potential, it is clear that the physiological analysis of each strain studied needs to be undertaken under conditions as close as possible to the physico-chemical environment in which the strain evolves within the full-scale process. Furthermore, this analysis needs to be undertaken throughoutthe entire fermentation so as to take into account the changing environment in an essentially dynamic situation in which metabolic stress is accentuated by the microbial activity itself, leading to increasingly important stress response at a metabolic level. All too often these industrial fermentation constraints are overlooked, leading to identification of targets whose validity within the industrial context is at best limited. Thus the conceptual error is linked to experimental design rather than inadequate methodology. New tools are becoming available which open up new possibilities in metabolic engineering and the characterisation of complex metabolic networks. Traditionally metabolic analysis was targeted towards pre-identified genes and their corresponding enzymatic activities within pre-selected metabolic pathways. Those pathways not included at the onset were intrinsically removed from the network giving a fundamentally localised vision of pathway functionality. New tools from genome research extend this reductive approach so as to include the global characteristics of a given biological model which can now be seen as an integrated functional unit rather than a specific sub-group of biochemical reactions, thereby facilitating the resolution of complexnetworks whose exact composition cannot be estimated at the onset. This global overview of whole cell physiology enables new targets to be identified which would classically not have been suspected previously. Of course, as with all powerful analytical tools, post-genomic technology must be used carefully so as to avoid expensive errors. This is not always the case and the data obtained need to be examined carefully to avoid embarking on the study of artefacts due to poor understanding of cell biology. These basic developments and the underlying concepts will be illustrated with examples from the author's laboratory concerning the industrial production of commodity chemicals using a number of industrially important bacteria. The different levels of possibleinvestigation and the extent to which the data can be extrapolated will be highlighted together with the extent to which realistic yield targets can be attained. Genetic engineering strategies and the performance of the resulting strains will be examined within the context of the prevailing experimental conditions encountered in the industrial fermentor. Examples used will include the production of amino acids, vitamins and polysaccharides. In each case metabolic constraints can be identified and the extent to which performance can be enhanced predicted

공급자개발계획과 자산전용성을 통한 통합적 SCM성과형성모델에 관한 연구 (Study on the Integrated SCM Performance Formation Model through Supplier Development Project and Asset Specificity)

  • Purpose - This study aims to clarify through which process asset specificity and supplier development project (SDP) affect performance. Cooperation, partnership, the level of information exchange, and the importance of information sharing are considered significant variables as mediators related to the process. Finally, the performance formation model of the supply chain through asset specificity and supplier development project would be suggested as being a result of this study. Research design, data, and methodology - Data collection was as follows: questionnaires were distributed to 250 companies that have business ties with H Company. The empirical study to test our hypothesis was based on statistical analysis (using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 19.0). The hypothesis of this paper is that the asset specificity and supplier development project variables have positive effects on the following variables: mediators such as cooperation and partnership (reliability and dependence); and the cooperation and partnership variables have a positive effect on the following variables: level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and level of information sharing; the importance of information sharing has a positive effect on supply chain performance. We tested our hypothesized model utilizing path analysis with latent variables. Results - First, it was found that asset specificity has significant positive effects on cooperation (H1), reliability (H2), and dependability (H3). Second, it was proved that the level of comprehension on the purpose of SDP has positive effects significantly on cooperation (H4), reliability (H5), and dependability (H6). Third, the hypotheses related to cooperation were all significantly accepted. The relationships of cooperation with the level (H7) and importance (H8) of information sharing were significant. Fourth, the hypotheses related to reliability were all significantly accepted. The relationships of reliability with the level (H9) and importance (H10) of information sharing were significant. In terms of dependability, however, the hypotheses were partially accepted. The effect of dependability was significant on the importance of information sharing (H12), but insignificant on the level of information sharing (H11). Finally, the causal relationships from the level of information sharing to SCM performance (H13) and from the importance of information sharing to SCM performance (H14) were both significantly accepted. Conclusion - First, with rapid changes in the business environment, enterprises should acquire the right information to properly implement SCM. For successful SCM, firms should understand the supplier development project. Second, asset specificity and the level of comprehension on SDP have significant effects both on cooperation and partnership (reliability and dependability). Third, mediators such as cooperation, reliability, and dependability significantly affect the level and importance of information sharing. Fourth, the level and importance of information sharing have significant impacts on SCM performance. This paper makes a meaningful contribution to further the understanding of how SDP affects SCM performance. Finally, successful SCM performance is achieved by information sharing through a collaborative environment and partnership (confidence & dependence) rather than by investing only in setting up an information system.

  • The NISS (Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer for Star formation history) is the near-infrared instrument optimized to the Next Generation of small satellite series (NEXTSat). The capability of both imaging and low spectral resolution spectroscopy in the near-infrared range is a unique function of the NISS. The major scientific mission is to study the cosmic star formation history in local and distant universe. For those purposes, the main observational targets are nearby galaxies, galaxy clusters, star-forming regions and low background regions. The off-axis optical design is optimized to have a wide field of view ($2deg.{\times}2deg.$) as well as the wide wavelength range from 0.95 to $3.8{\mu}m$. Two linear variable filters are used to realize the imaging spectroscopy with the spectral resolution of ~20. The mechanical structure is considered to endure the launching condition as well as the space environment. The compact dewar is confirmed to operate the infrared detector as well as filters at 80K stage. The electronics is tested to obtain and process the signal from infrared sensor and to communicate with the satellite. After the test and calibration of the engineering qualification model (EQM), the flight model of the NSS is assembled and integrated into the satellite. To verify operations of the satellite in space, the space environment tests such as the vibration, shock and thermal-vacuum test were performed. Here, we report the test results of the flight model of the NISS.

공개공지(公開空地) 효용성(效用性) 제고(提高)를 위한 설계지침(設計指針) 개선(改善) 방안(方案) (A study on the Improvement of Design Guideline for the Use Enhancement of Privately Owned Public Space)

  • In urban space, public space is publicly or privately owned space freely accessible by the public. Privately owned public space to the public hosts small-scale rest facilities to serve the public in buildings of certain purposes and sizes for the sake of pleasant urban environment. The Building Act and building ordinances formulate a set of criteria for management and easement of construction standards as well as the area. When creating privately owned public space, one can get incentives through the easement of floor space index and height limit. The purposes of this study were to investigate and analyze privately owned public open space, which is freely accessible by the public, and its adjacent streets and to propose plans to improve the regulations for securing privately owned public space for more rational and practical legal applications. The study then proposed some plans to help to increase the quality of privately owned public space including applying the coefficient to suggest the type of privately owned public space fit for the features of the streets and measure the appropriate utility level differently and distinguishing the mandatory items according to the facility regulations in privately owned public space from the ones qualified for additional points in case of installation. The types of privately owned public open space should be applied differently and the content of facilities intended should be different according to whether it will serve as a resting place or grant more importance on traffic by walking, depending on the features of its adjacent streets. The privately owned public space, the frontage space of building, and the adjacent sidewalks should become a whole and be regarded as one space from the integrated perspective. The results of the study claim further significance in that it investigated privately owned open space and roadside across Seoul. They will serve as useful data to solve the problems with the privately owned public space of the city, which destroys spatial continuity by focusing on the quantitative increase of privately owned open space and creating individual privately owned open spaces and builds high-rise buildings alienated from the existing spaces, and to increase the quality of future privately owned public space.

편대비행위성의 항법 및 궤도제어를 위한 실시간 Hardware-In-the-Loop 시뮬레이션 테스트베드 초기 설계 (A Preliminary Development of Real-Time Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Testbed for the Satellite Formation Flying Navigation and Orbit Control)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 편대비행위성의 항법 및 궤도제어를 위한 실시간 Hardware-In-the-Loop(HIL) 시뮬레이션 테스트베드를 개발하는데 있다. HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드는 실제와 비슷한 하드웨어 환경을 구성하여 주어진 편대비행임무 요구조건에 따른 새로운 개념의 알고리즘을 테스트할 수 있는 시뮬레이터이다. HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드는 실제의 인공위성 시스템 인터페이스와 최대한 유사하게 설계되었으며 환경 컴퓨터, GPS 시뮬레이터, GPS 수신기, 비행제어 컴퓨터, 시각화 컴퓨터 등 총 5개의 독립적인 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. Spirent Communication사의 GSS6560 다중패널 RF 시뮬레이터와, (주)세트렉아이에서 제작한 우주용 GPS 수신기를 사용하여 실제와 유사한 GPS 관측데이터를 사용한다. GPS 수신기로부터 획득한 관측데이터는 비행제어 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전송되고 이를 통해 편대비행위성의 절대위치 및 상대위치결정을 수행하였다. 또한 이 결과를 바탕으로 비행제어 컴퓨터 시스템은 궤도조정에 필요한 제어값을 계산하여 환경 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전송한다. 이렇게 5개의 독립적인 시스템을 유기적으로 통합하여 폐순환반복(closed-loop) HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드를 설계하였다. 이 논문에서는 편대비행 위성의 항법 및 제어 알고리즘 테스트를 위한 실시간 HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드의 전반적인 구성방법과 세부적인 구성요소에 대해 설명하였다 저궤도 편대비행위성의 편대유지 임무에 대한 가상의 시나리오를 설정하여 위성 편대비행의 항법 및 궤도제어 알고리즘을 실험적으로 검증하였다.
