고전압 절연재료의 결함진단을 위한 부분방전측정 (The Measurement of Partial Discharge to Diagnose Defects in High-Voltage Insulating Materials)

  • According to request of insulating materials for high-voltage, recently we make effort not only to develop diagnostic skills of aging state but also to discover defects in insulating material in the early. Especially, partial discharge has been actively studied as a non-destructive diagnosis technique and very useful method. Because the method of partial discharge measurement has damages less than other conventional diagnosis technique. In this paper, the characteristics of partial discharge was investigated and studied on many samples with voids. In order to adapt as a practical diagnosis technique, it is studied on the characteristics of partial discharge and insulation breakdown in the high voltage. We suggest that partial discharge measurement can be used in order to diagnose defects in high-voltage insulation materials.

The characteristics of mineral hydrate insulation material using activated cement prepared from pilot plant activation system

  • In this study, using the pilot plant activation system, the activated cement has been manufactured and then applied to the manufacturing process of mineral hydrate insulating material. The fineness of the activated cement is controlled at $5,000cm^2/g$ and $7,500cm^2/g$ and the features of mineral hydrate insulating material, using OPC and the activated cement for each degree of fineness, has been analyzed. As the result of analyzing the crystal habit of the manufactured mineral hydrate insulting material, it is analyzed that the main crystal phase of specimen is tobermorite and some quartz peak has been detected. As the degree of fineness of the activated cement increases, the height of bubble of slurry increases as well, whereas the tendency for the density character to decrease has been detected. Along with it, as the density character decreases, the compression strength has decreases, whereas the tendency for the thermal characteristic to increases has been detected. The main features of mineral hydrate insulating material, using the activated cement with the fineness of $7,500cm^2/g$, the compression strength of 0.36 MPa, and the thermal conductivity of $0.044W/m{\cdot}K$, presents the excellent features as insulation.

오염된 절연재료의 트래킹 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Tracking Characteristics of Contaminated Insulating Materials)

  • 본 실험은 오염된 절연재료의 트래킹 특성을 연구하였다. 오염된 절연재료의 트래킹에 의한 절연파괴 특성 분석은 IEC 60112를 통하여 수행하였다. 연구결과, 오염된 절연재료의 트래킹 특성은 다음과 같다. (a) 오염된 절연재료의 경우 정상시료 보다 비교트래킹지수(comparative tracking index, CTI)가 낮게 나타났다. (b) 오염된 절연재료의 최초 탄화흔 발생시간 및 탄화도전로 형성 시간이 정상시료 보다 빠르게 나타났다.

절연 바니시의 전기적특성 (Electrical Properties of Insulating Varnish)

  • In this study, we are studied the electrical conduction and dielectric breakdown properties of insulating varnish. In order to analyze the molecular structure and physical properties of insulating varnishs, FT-lR was used. As the result, it can be confirmed that the peak of alcoholic group appeared in wavenumbers 3452[cm$\^$-1], the peak of =CH appeared in 3080[cm$\^$-1] and the peak of -CH appeared in 2919[cm$\^$-1] respectively. The following results were obtained from electrical properties of insulating varnish. The amplitude of current density was decreased by thickness increasing and the current density was effected by the thermal energy from external due to temperature increasing. In study temperature dependence of dielectric strength, the specimen of 10[$\mu\textrm{m}$] thickness was measurement from room temperature to 180[$^{\circ}C$]. It is confirmed that the temperature regions below 60[$^{\circ}C$] is due to electron avalanche breakdown and the temperature regions over 60[$^{\circ}C$] is due to free volume breakdown which makes electron movements easy.

  • In establishing silent environment such as automobile and industrial instrument, the roles of the insulating materials are critical. The proper and effective positioning of insulating materials is essential in the field of noise as well as in designing silent automobile. In this paper, we proposed the systematic and efficient scheme for optimizing complete automotive interiors for noise control. In order to attain this purpose, following analysis has been carried out: First, measuring the Biot parameters of insulating materials and the transmission loss with reflecting the appropriate arrangement of insulating materials has been experimented. In addition, we made comparison among transmission loss by the tools of analysis and verification, experimental value under consideration of various situations of automobile and analysis by the SEA.

  • Energy losses through windows and doors are big problems in the construction industry. For glass only, it has takes the largest portion of mass from window assembly and it responsible for 24 ~ 45% of energy loss from total building energy loss. Insulating glass unit should maintain their basic functions during their working life in order to contribute positively for global warming issue. There have been many research works for improving insulating glass unit durability. But it is not easy job to fulfill the requirements because insulating glass units composed of many components. So, overall it is required to have right qualify control procedures starting from material selection to fabrication, shipping and installation to the customer site. In this report, we have reviewed the durability of insulating glass unit made from different grades of sealing materials based on globally accepted industry codes such as EN1279. ASTM E 2190 and Locally available code. KS L 2003. The result showed that there is a relationship between the mechanical properties of insulating glass 2nd sealant and the durability of the units.

Analysis of DC insulation and properties of epoxy/ceramic composites with nanosized ZnO/TiO2 fillers

  • A molded transformer is maintenance-free, which makes it unnecessary to replace the insulating material, like in an oil-filled transformer, because the epoxy, which is a molded insulating resin, does not suffer variations in its insulating performance for heat cycles over a long time, as compared to insulating oil. In spite of these advantages, a molded transformer may still be accessed by the user, which is not good in regards to reliability or noise compared to the oil transformers. In particular, a distrust exists regarding reliability due to the long-term insulating performance. These properties have been studied in regards to the improvement of epoxy composites and molded transformer insulation. There have nevertheless been insufficient investigations into the insulation properties of epoxy composites. In this study, it is a researching of the epoxy for insulating material. In order to prepare the specimens, a main resin, a hardener, an accelerator, and a nano/micro filler were used. Varying amounts of TiO2 and ZnO nano fillers were added to the epoxy mixture along with a fixed amount of micro silica. This paper presents the DC insulation breakdown test, thermal expansion coefficient, and thermal conductivity results for the manufactured specimens. From these results, it has been found that the insulating performance of nano/micro epoxy composites is improved as compared to plain molded transformer insulation, and that nano/micro epoxy composites contribute to the reliability and compactness of molded transformers.

  • We investigated photoreflectance of semi-insulating GaAs with respect to modulation sources, that is, modulation beam intensity, modulation frequency, temperature, and thickness of sample. PR spectra by each modulation source turned out to be signals of low electric field third differential, and band gap values of sample were fitted by least square root method for Aspnes' theoretical equation.

절연지의 기계적 및 전기적 물성에 대한 연구 (Study on the electrical and mechanical properties of insulating paper)

  • In order to elucidate the electrical and mechanical properties of insulating paper, it is desirable to study the performances of tensile strength, dielectric constant, dielectric strength. In this work, we constructed the characteristics depending on change of fabrication condition, and these specimens were manufactured by hot press method. As a result, tensile strength was about 75MPa and breakdown was above 5 kV/mm at the minimum value.

  • In order to evaluate insulating reliability in epoxy composites, breakdown data were experimented in the temperature range of 20[$^{\circ}C$]∼160[$^{\circ}C$]. From these data, various parameters which are used in Weibull distribution could be derived, and using them, the reliability on a breakdown probability was calculated.
