A Study on Simulator for Computing Demand Rate Considering a Transformer Capacity (변압기 용량을 고려한 수용률 산출 시뮬레이터 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the method of computing demand rate with respect to a transformer capacity is proposed and addressed to predict a future demand rate. The simulation data are taken from switchgears of a real medium voltage transformer. Data taken from the electrical instrument at 22.9 kVY power receiving panels are employed to evaluate the correlation between demand rate and power usage of transformer. It is verified a usefulness with respect to an proposed index of demand rate for transformer by using a least square error of regressive modeling, As a result of investigation and simulation on the spot to a few buildings, it is considered that there is necessity to make a partial amendment of demand rate being applicable currently for electrical energy saving in domestic.

The Safety Survey Analysis and Consideration of Small Transformer (소형 변압기 안전성 실태 분석 및 고찰)

  • In this paper, safety certification products and safety condition of small transformer is analyzed in industries field and educational facilities. In transformer of 50places, absolute majority is step down transformer to measure of instrument. Most transformers were below 5kVA and 1~3kVA capacity was the mainstream. In industries field, 5 transformers were found without safety certification according to the Electrical Appliances Safety Control Act as cheap product prefer and lack of safety consciousness. Mark & number, voltage, date of manufacture of safety certification must show item of certification. However date of manufacture showed in product of 18%, 9places. As result of thermal imaging camera, running temperature of transformer was showed in below of target temperature. However as a narrow space of transformer and wall, power cable was touched on a ventilating flue in transformer. It was simple carelessness case that surface fouling and temperature ageing of transformer accelerate. Power poor connection, neglect of transformer in production equipment, fall damage by setup incongruity and ground omission were found in case of illogicality item of transformer.

  • In this paper, the content to carry out the modal testing and to analyze the data as the target of the main transformer installed on KTX is mentioned. The main transformer for KTX is a structure which is over 10 Ton. For the possibility to occur a stress concentration phenomenon exists, the dynamic durability of the system is experimentally needed to understand. To do this, we obtained the vibration data using an accelerometer, an impact hammer, a measuring instrument and gained the frequency response function of the main transformer based on the acquisition data. In this content, when the theoretical model for structural analysis should be established, we think it will be used for the property verification of analytical model. Also, we expect that the measured and analysed data will offer basic research material to maintain the system and diagnose the condition by monitoring the natural frequency of the main transformer for KTX periodically.

  • In this paper, response characteristics by applying impulse into transformer windings in order to precaution diagonosis of power electric instrument are studied. A sample oilless transformer, an aging transformer and a good transformer are slected for models. The experimented results show that for testing the windings distortion and impedanced change of transformer the LVI method are suitable. Also, variation characteristic of output waveforms at time and frequency domain in order to efficient analysis is discussed. The results response that waveforms at frequency domain is very higher resolution at time domain.

  • This paper describes an instrument for the detection and geometric location of partial discharge (PD) source in transformers. This instrument measures electric current pulses and ultrasonic pulses simultaneously, counts the number of electrical pulses and determines the geometric location of PD in transformers. It was found that there is a relationship between partial discharge magnitude and pulse repetition rate when the applied test voltage and oil temperature were varied. Through the laboratory test using model transformer, it was clarified that this detector could be used for detecting and locating PD in the transformer.

  • An iron-cored voltage transformer(VT) is usually used to obtain the standard low voltage signal for protection and measurement. Generally, the iron-cored transformers have errors due to the hysteresis characteristics of the iron-core. An error compensating algorithm for iron-cored instrument transformer can improve the accuracy of conventional voltage transformers. This paper describes the iron-cored electronic voltage transformer having the error compensating algorithm. The innovative product composes an iron-cored VT and an intelligent electronic device(IED) having the error compensating algorithm. The test results of the iron-cored electronic voltage transformers in Korea Electro-technology Research Institute(KERI) are presented.

  • This paper describes an nstrument for the detection and geometric location of partial discharge(PD) sources in transformers.   • In this paper, characteristic tests for current transformers with maximum mA secondary current of 250 mA is performed. The purpose of this paper is not only to test the mA current transformers by following the IEEE Draft Standard for Current Transformers with Maximum mA Secondary Current of 250mA, but also to take into consideration certain applications in the use of the mA CTs for billing purposes.
