  • In electric motor coaches, the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a re-adhesion control algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force using load torque disturbance observer. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the re-adhesion control is performed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.

  • In this paper suggested methods for current control in active filter are using the triangular carriers which were composed of independently generated threefold carriers and controllable current source which compensates the harmonics generated independently from the types of the load with instantaneous amplitude adjusting from the maximum magnitude of the compensating currents. And the 2-nd order high pass passive filter connected to the source finally supplies pure sinusoidal waves by suppressing the residual harmonics which cannot removed by the active filter. As the typical load which generates the harmonics, a rectifier was set and the system was also designed by simulations and implementations.

  • This paper examines the application of high voltage static var compensator(SVC) with cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI). A new switching scheme is developed for the SVC system. To improve the unbalanced problem of the DC capacitor voltages, the rotated switching scheme of fundamental frequency is newly used. The optimized fundamental switching pattern with low switching frequency is adapted to be suitable for high application. The selective harmonic elimination method(SHEM) allows to keep the total harmonic distortion(THD) low in the output voltage of multilevel inverter. The SVC system is modeled using the d-q transform which calculates the instantaneous reactive power. This model is used to design a controller and analyze the SVC system. Simulated and experimental results are also presented and discussed to validate the proposed schemes.

  • Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) in single-phase to interface distributed renewable energy resources is investigated in this paper. Mathematical models and numerical analysis are utilized to illustrate the features of the VSG. Enhanced control strategy is presented to ensure the performance of the VSG. Besides, a second order generalized integer (SOGI) is employed to calculate the instantaneous output power of the VSG in virtual ${\alpha}{\beta}$ frame. By the means of a phase-locked loop based scheme, the VSG can seamlessly transform between islanded and grid-tied modes, which can meet the requirements of micro-grid. At last, the validation and the proposed approach are verified by the simulated results using PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • A new scheme to estimate machine inertia in low speed is proposed in this paper. It is necessary to consider the machine parameter of low speed instantaneous observer to precise control in servo system, which has frequent load variation and speed change. To estimate machine parameter, especially the moment of inertia, Reduced-Order Extended Luenberger Observer (ROELO) is applied. The effectiveness of the proposed ROELO is showed by simulation.

  • It is difficult to determine the static axle weight of a vehicle with weigh-in-motion systems which in absence measure instantaneous axle impact forces. The difficulty in determining a static axle weight results from dynamic effects induced by vehicle/road interactions. One method to improve the problem is to quantify a statistical confidence level for measured axle weight. The quarter-car model is used to simulate vehicle motion, Also, the road input to vehicle model can be characterized in statistical terms by PSD (power spectral density) of appropriate amplitude and frequency contents other than an exact spatial distribution. The confidence levels for the measured axle weight can be obtained by the random process analysis using both vehicle model and road input.

  • 본 논문은 특정 주파수 대역에서 큰 이득을 갖는 PR 제어기를 이용한 단상 PWM 컨버터의 전류 제어 기법에 대해 제안한다. 고속전철 주전력변환장치는 단상 PWM 컨버터와 3상 인버터로 구성되며, 단상 PWM 컨버터는 단위 역률 제어와 가선전류 고조파 저감을 위하여 빠른 동특성을 갖는 순시 전류 제어 방법이 필요하다. 일반적으로 순시 전류 제어를 위해서 사용되는 동기 좌표계 PI 제어기는 연산 량이 증가하고, 정지 좌표계 PI 제어기는 정상상태 오차가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 보완할 수 있는 순시 전류 제어 방법을 시뮬레이션과 시험을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • 팬(fan), 펌프(pump), 블로어(blower), 전기 자동차(electric/hybrid vehicle), 전동차와 같은 다양한 분야에서 3상 전동기의 고속 운전에 대한 요구가 증대되고 있다. 일반적으로 3상 전동기가 정격 속도 이상의 고속에서 운전하기 위해서는 회전자 자속(rotor flux)의 크기를 운전 상황에 따라 감소시키는 약자속(flux weakening) 제어가 필수적이다. 유도 전동기의 회전자 자속 기준 벡터 제어 시의 약자속 운전은 자속 성분 전류의 크기를 제어하여 유도 전동기의 고속 운전을 가능하게 하는데, 이러한 전류 제어 기반의 약자속 제어는 그 구조가 복잡하고, 제어기 이득 선정에 따른 동특성(dynamic)이 영향울 받는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 개선하기 위한 순시적 약자속 제어 방법을 제안하고 3.7kW 유도 전동기를 이용한 실험을 통하여 제안된 방식의 성능을 검증한다.

리플전압을 이용한 병렬아크 사고 감지기 개발 (Development of Parallel Arc Fault Detector Using Ripple Voltage)

  • The major causes of electrical fire in low-voltage distribution lines are classified into short-circuit fault, overload fault, electric leakage, and electric contact failure. The special principal factor of the fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with such electric faults. This paper studies the development of an electric fire prevention system with detection and alarm of that in case of parallel arc fault occurrence in low-voltage distribution lines. The proposed system is designed on algorithm sensing the instantaneous voltage drop of line voltage at arc fault occurrence. The proposed detector has characteristics of high-speed operation responsibility and superior system reliability from composition using a large number of semiconductor devices. A new sensing control method that shows the detection of parallel arc fault is sensed to ripple voltage drop through a diode bridge full-wave rectifier at electrical accident occurrence. Some experimental tests of the proposed system also confirm the practicality and validity of the analytical results.

펄스방사선에 대한 전자장비 방호용 모듈구현 및 기능시험 (Implementation of the Radiation Protection Module for Electronic Equipment from Pulsed Radiation and Its Function Tests)

  • The electronic equipment which is exposed to high level pulsed radiation is damaged by Upset, Latchup, and Burnout. Those damages come from the instantaneous photocurrent from electron-hole pairs generated in itself. Such damages appear as losses of a power in military weapon system or as a blackout in aerospace equipment and eventually caused in gross loss of national power. In this paper, we have implemented a RDC(Radiation detection and control module) as a part of the radiation protection technology of the electronic equipment or devices from the pulsed gamma radiation. The RDC, which is composed of pulsed gamma-ray detection sensor, signal processors, and pulse generator, is designed to protect the an important electronic circuits from the a pulse radiation. To verify the functionality of the RDC, LM118s, which had damaged by the pulse radiation, were tested. The test results showed that the test sample applied with the RDC was worked well in spite of the irradiation of a pulse radiation. Through the experiments we could confirm that the radiation protection technology implemented with the RDC had the functionality of radiation protection for the electronic devices.
