This paper reports a means of improving the abnormal noise of light tactical vehicles (LTVs) by applying a vehicle fitting type generator (hereinafter called generator). LTVs are classified as having generators, and there are no differences in the noise level. On the other hand, quality improvement was performed in response to unpleasant noise felt by the user (hereinafter called abnormal noise) during vehicle operation. To improve the quality, the generator mounting structure and the phenomenon of the vehicle in the problem were identified. Through this, it was confirmed that the noise caused by the generator installation was the rattle noise. Rattle noise at the engine driving system is normally caused by the transfer of irregular torque generated by the engine power stroke and the backlash by the spline-serration fitting structure between the engine coupler and rotor assembly in a generator. Therefore, this study established an improvement plan to apply a damper coupler to solve the cause of the abnormal noise. Regarding the improved establishment method, the improvement effect was confirmed from the influence of the irregular torque of the engine, noise level, dynamic characteristics analysis, and the endurance test of the parts.

In a climate change environment where heat damage and drought occur during a rainy season such as in 2018, a vegetation-based LID system that enables disaster prevention as well as environment improvement is suggested in lieu of an installation-type LID system that is limited to the prevention of floods. However, the quantification of its performance as against construction cost is limited. This study aims to present an experiment environment and evaluation method on quantitative performance, which is required in order to disseminate the vegetation-based LID system. To this end, a 3rd quartile huff time distribution mass curve was generated for 20-year frequency, 60-minute probable rainfall of 68mm/hr in Cheonan, and effluent was analyzed by recreating artificial rainfall. In order to assess the reliability of the rainfall event simulator, 10 repeat tests were conducted at one-minute intervals for 20 minutes with minimum rainfall intensity of 22.29mm/hr and the maximum rainfall intensity of 140.69mm/hr from the calculated probable rainfall. Effective rainfall as against influent flow was 21.83mm/hr (sd=0.17~1.36, n=20) on average at the minimum rainfall intensity and 142.27mm/hr (sd=1.02~3.25, n=20) on average at the maximum rainfall intensity. In artificial rainfall recreation experiments repeated for three times, the most frequent quartile was found to be the third quartile, which is around 40 minutes after beginning the experiment. The peak flow was observed 70 minutes after beginning the experiment in the experiment zone and after 50 minutes in the control zone. While the control zone recorded the maximum runoff intensity of 2.26mm/min(sd=0.25) 50 minutes after beginning the experiment, the experiment zone recorded the maximum runoff intensity of 0.77mm/min (sd=0.15) 70 minutes after beginning the experiment, which is 20 minutes later than the control zone. Also, the maximum runoff intensity of the experiment zone was 79.6% lower than that of the control zone, which confirmed that vegetation unit-type LID system had rainfall runoff reduction and delay effects. Based on the above findings, the reliability of a lab-level rainfall simulator for monitoring the vegetation-based LID system was reviewed, and maximum runoff intensity reduction and runoff time delay were confirmed. As a result, the study presented a performance evaluation method that can be applied to the pre-design of the vegetation-based LID system for rainfall events on a location before construction.

This study conducted a field experiment to estimate the characteristics of the rain garden installed at the site near Haman, also proposed a one-dimensional model to simulate the infiltration and runoff from the rain garden. This model was used to evaluate the rain garden using the rainfall data after the installation and during the last 10 years. Also, this model was applied to the annual maximum rainfall events to quantify the size of the impervious area that the rain garden can offset the adverse effect. The results are summarized below. (1) Hydraulic conductivity of the rain garden was estimated to be about 0.0188 m/hr by the variable-stage experiment. Also, the simulation experiment using the last 10 years rainfall data over the entire roof area showed that the infiltration amount is about 90.38% out of the total rainfall. (2) Infiltration simulation of the annual maximum rainfall events during last 10 years showed that the rain garden can offset the impervious area with its size about 30 times of the rain garden surface.
Background: The association of biomaterial combined with repair factor-like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has prospective values. Bovine-derived xenograft has been identified as an osteoconductive and biocompatible grafting material that provides osseointegration ability. PRP has become a valuable adjunctive agent to promote healing in a lot of dental and oral surgery procedures. However, there are controversies with respect to the regenerative capacity of PRP and the real benefits of its use in bone grafts. The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of PRP combined with xenograft for the repair of peri-implant bone defects. Methods: Twelve rabbits were used in this study, and the experimental surgery with implant installation was performed simultaneously. Autologous PRP was prepared before the surgical procedure. An intrabony defect (7.0 mm in diameter and 3.0 mm deep) was created in the tibia of each rabbit; then, 24 titanium dental implants (3.0 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm long) were inserted into these osteotomy sites. Thus, a standardized gap (4.0 mm) was established between the surrounding bony walls and the implant surface. The gaps were treated with either xenograft alone (control group) or xenograft combined with PRP (experimental group). After healing for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 weeks, the rabbits were sacrificed with an overdose of KCl solution. Two rabbits were killed at each time, and the samples including dental implants and surrounding bone were collected and processed for histological analysis. Results: More newly formed bone and a better bone healing process were observed in control group. The histomorphometric analysis revealed that the mean percentage of bone-to-implant contact in the control group was significantly higher than that of the experimental group (25.23 vs. 8.16 %; P < 0.05, independent-simple t test, analysis of variance [ANOVA]). Conclusions: The results indicate that in the addition of PRP to bovine-derived xenograft in the repair of bone defects around the implant, PRP may delay peri-implant bone healing.
A field microplot(D 20cm, L 85cm) experiment filled with Bonryang sandy loam soil (Typic Udifluvents) was conducted to obtain quantitative information on the movement of applied nutrients under diffetent soil moisture regimes and ladino clover cultivation. Chloride moved rapidly with soil water. When soil moisture tension was maintained at loer than 0.2 bar most of the Cl appeared to move outside the microplot 4 month after the microplot installation. Regardless of soil moisture condition, Cl was not detected in the soil due to the fast movement of the Cl beyond the microplot after 5.5 months Although large amount of P and water were applied to the soil of high available P during the field experiment, movement of P was negligible and most of P remained in thc place where applied due to the low solubility of the fused and superphosphate. Phosphate in the soil extracted by Bray No.1 solution and taken up by plant increased with soil moisture. Under the condition of irrigation at 0.2 bar, plant took up 23% of the applied P, and 24% of the P was extracted by Bray NO.1 solution, while plant took up 14% and 13% of the P was turned out to be Bray No.1 P. at thc nonirrigated condition after final harvest.
Orthotropic steel decks are manufactured by welding thin plates therefore it is inevitable that there are abundant works of welding process. On connection of transverse rib web, crossing point of longitudinal rib, transverse rib and deck plate and cut-out parts of transverse rib are the significant position of stress concentration because of out of plane and oil-canning deformation caused by longitudinal rib distortion with shear force and distortion. At the current research, the crossing point where the orthotropic steel decks's effect of improving fatigue performance are high, not placing scallop and diaphragm which have same plane with transverse rib placed inside of longitudinal rib at the same time, the reduce effects of stress concentration at the cut-out section and the crossing are high. Especially the installation of the diaphragm causing great effects based on research results to stress concentration appearance reduce effects at the cut-out section, putting radius of curvature of the diaphragm's top and bottom as a target, as a result of carrying out the parametric analysis an optimal diaphragm form that has great effects in fatigue performance came to a conclusion. Also based on optimal diaphragm form, an advantage of the diaphragm optimal setting position for improvement of the fatigue performance came to a conclusion.
The study aims to suggest the direction of improvement in presenting the exhibition space by examining the current status quo of children's science exhibitions in order to enhance the educational effectiveness Children's Science Museum. For this purpose, the children's science museum exhibition and exhibition space were categorized into three themes largely according to the exhibition contents, and an analysis framework was developed to analyze exhibition media and exhibition space. For the research subjects, we selected 7 exhibition halls targeted at children in Korea, collected data via video-taping, and analyzed based on the framework of analysis. When analyzing the display situation in which the exhibits have the contents of 'body', 'peripheral things', and 'natural phenomena', we found that the exhibits are composed of too difficult contents to understand, which do not fit the children's developmental level, and the major media used are observational and explaining media. Additionally, concerning the exhibition space, there is a tendency to rely on the installation elements and color effect. It is also difficult to deduce the contents of the exhibits and the entire story. We suggest that the entire exhibition planning be carefully made from the beginning to improve the current status and enhance the educational effectiveness of the Children's Science Museum with the help of experts.

The risk is expressed as consequence of damage multiplied by likelihood of failure. The installation of a protective system reduces the risk by reducing the likelihood of failure at the facility. Also, the protective system has different effects on the likelihood of failure according to the proof test cycle. However, when assessing risks in the Off-site Risk Assessment (ORA) system, the variation in risk was not reflected according to the proof test cycle of protective system. This study was conducted to examine the need for proof test and the importance of cycle setting by applying periodic proof test of the protective system to ORA. The results showed that the likelihood of failure and the risk increased with longer proof test cycle. The risk of a two-yearly proof test was eight times greater than that of a three-month cycle. From the results, the protective system needs periodic proof test. Untested protective system for a long term cannot be reliable because it is more likely to be failed state when it is called upon to operate. In order to reduce the risk to an acceptable level, it is effective to differently set the proof test cycle according to the priority. This study suggested a more systematic and accurate risk analysis standard than ORA. This standard is expected to enable an acceptable level of risk management by systematically setting the priority and proof test cycle of the protective system. It is also expected to contribute to securing the safety of chemical facilities and at the same time, will lead to the development of the ORA system.

This study proposes the difference of awareness and improvement plan of building-related landscape systems through a cognition survey of building owners, public officials, and experts. The main results are as follows. First, all three groups are highly aware of the need to secure urban green spaces. Even if private property rights are restricted, the level of awareness that green space should be secured for public benefit is high. The level of interest in the building-related landscape system was also surveyed to a greater degree. Second, the survey respondents, including the building owner group, answered that there is a need to strengthen the building-related landscape area standards. It can be seen that there is a need to revise the relaxation of the building-related landscape area standards through an amendment of the Building Ordinance in many local governments. Third, most municipalities are not equipped with an organizational system that can promote the work of building-related landscape. It is necessary to newly hire civil servants for landscape design, maintenance, and management specialization, or to expand co-working relationships with related departments. Fourth, building owners are interested in building-related landscape, but they do not know specific management methods and leave the landscape space. The municipality needs to offer guidance on landscape architectural design and construction methods that the building owners can easily follow and to support the voluntary landscape space management on the part of the local residents by supporting the trees. Fifth, in order to improve the building-related landscape system, it is necessary to verify the effect of the building-related landscape and spread a consensus. At the government level, in order to enable building owners to recognize the value of the landscape space in connection with an urban regeneration project, it is necessary to present an example of an excellent building-related landscape installation via a pilot project.
This study examined the effectiveness of and satisfaction of visitors with the Environmental Improvement Project on national parks' trail entry areas. A survey was conducted to improve the proposal framework based on the data. Data for the study were obtained from 6400 respondents who used 28 national park offices at 32 national park trail entry areas. The field research was collected in 3200 surveys, divided between pre- and post-implementation of the Environmental Improvement Project. The study variables consisted of socio-demographics, visitors' perceptions on the environmental improvement of trail entries, effects of the environmental improvement, and visitor satisfaction. Several important results were found. First, the environment of trail entries has a significant impact on the formation of images and user satisfaction of national parks. Second, the influence of the trail entry improvement showed that 71.8% of visitors rated the trail entry as environmentally friendly after the Environmental Improvement Project, compared to 48.5% of visitors rated the trail entry as environmentally friendly before the Environmental Improvement Project. The findings indicated that a top priority of environmental improvement of the trail entries needs to be the installation of convenience facilities such as rest areas, restrooms, and direction boards (pre: 34.5%, post: 32.6%). Third, functionality and the other nine variables were shown to enhance the effect of the environmental improvement of the trail entries at the 1% statistical significance level. Finally, results indicated that the overall satisfaction of the visitors with the park was significantly higher after the environmental improvement (t-value=25.741, p=.000), showing the satisfaction score was higher after the environmental improvement (pre: 3.51, post: 4.12), with a statistically significant difference at the 1 % level. This study helps to understand trail entries, which have influenced the image of the national park and satisfaction. These findings can be utilized to manage and design a national park as a public space.
