분말 혼합 공정으로 만들어진 은계 삽입금속의 특성 (Characterisrics of the Ag System Insert Metal Produced by Powder Mixing Process)

  • Ag계 분말 삽입금속을 볼 밀링법으로 제조하였다. 밀링공정의 변수들은 밀링시간을 제외하고는 일정하게 하였고 밀링 시간은 24, 48, 72시간들로 정하였다. 밀링에 의해 제조된 삽입금속들은 SEM관찰, DSC분석, 퍼짐성, 젖음성 시험을 통해 평가하였다. 삽입금속들의 브레이징부 특성은 상용금속에 비하여 우수하였다. 48시간 동안 밀링한 삽입금속이 퍼짐성과 젖음 특성이 가장 우수한 조건임을 나타냈다. 또한 브레이징부는 작은 양의 기공을 포함하고 있지만 안정적인 미세조직을 보였고 미세경도는 138VHN으로 나타났다.

  • The change of microstructure in the bonded interlayer and tensile properties of joints were studied for liquid phase diffusion bonding using STS-310 and Incoloy-825 as base metal and base metal+B alloy as insert inetal. Main experimental results obtained in this study are as follows. 1) The optimum amount of B addition into the insert metal was found to be about 4mass%. 2) When isothermal solidification was completed, the microstructure in the bonded interlayer was the same with that of the base metal because of the grain boundary migration in the bonded interlayer. 3) All of the tensile specimen fractured at base metal and joints bonded at optimum condition exhibited tensile properties in excess of base metal requirements. 4) It was determined that fine car-borides and bordes such as M$_{23}$(C,B)$_{6}$, Cr$_{2}$B, and CrB in STS-310S and TiB in Incoloy-825 exist at the grain boundary around bonded interlayer. These precipitates almost disappeared after homogenizing treatment at 1373K for 86.4ks.s.

  • Rene80 superalloy was liquid phase diffusion bonded by using boron(B) as an insert material, where B has high diffusivity and higher melting point as an insert material. Bonding procedure and bonding mechanism of Rene80/B/Rene80 joint were investigated. As results, liquid metal was produced by solid state reaction between base metal and insert material on bonding zone. The liquid metal was produced preferentially at the grain boundary. Except for production of liquid metal, other bonding procedure was nearly same as TLP(Transient Liquid Phase) bonding. Bonding time, however, was reduced compared to prior result of TLP bonding. By bonding S.4ks at l453K, Ren80/B/Rene80 joint was isothermally solidified and homogenized where thickness of insert material was 7.5.mu.m.

  • This study accompanied with the friction welding of a spheroidal graphite cast iron bar and 2024 Aluminium alloy bar with A1050 insert metal and investigated between conditions of friction welding faces and welded joint strength. This principal results of the experimental investigation could be summarized as follows: If the optimum friction welding is selected, the aspect of the spheroidal graphite cast iron and 2024 Aluminium could be welded with a pure Aluminium insert metal.

  • Face milling is required to study cutting process with a view of multipoint cutter. This experimental study mainly deals with the single and multi-insert cutting characteristics using coated tool. Because metal cutting of the single and multi-insert has a large relation to the improvement of productivity, the economic cutting process can be achieved by the analysis of proper metal cutting mechanism. Therefore, machining characteristics of face molling in this paper has been studied by investigating the role of different insert number which is concerned with mean cutting force, the RMS values of AE(acoustic emission) signal, tool life and surface roughness in milling SS 41 and SUS 304. The cutting force and AE signal are monitored to make an analysis of cutting process. The surface roughness of the specimens machined by inserts of different numbers is measured at different speeds, feeds and depth of cut. The width of flank wear is also observed.

일방향응고 Ni기초내열합금 GTD-111의 천이액상확산접합(I) (Transient Liquid Phase Bonding of Directionally Solidified Ni Base Superalloy, GTD-111(I) - Bonding Phenomena and Mechanism -)

  • The bonding phenomenon and mechanism in the transient liquid phase bonding(TLP Bonding) of directionally solidified Ni base superalloy, GTD-111 was investigated. At the bonding temperature of 1403K, liquid insert metal was eliminated by isothermal solidification which was controlled by the diffusion of B and Si into the base metal and solids in the bonded interlayer grew epitaxially from mating base metal inward the insert metal. The number of grain boundaries formed at the bonded interlayer was corresponded with those of base metal. The liquation of grain boundary and dendrite boundary occurred at 1433K. At the bonding temperature of 1453K which is higher than liquation temperature of grain boundary, liquids of the Insert metal were connected with liquated grain boundaries and compositions in each region mixed mutually. In Joints held for various time at 1453t phases formed at liquated grain boundary far from the interface were similar to those of bonded interlayer. With prolonged holding time, liquid phases decreased gradually and liquids of continuous band shape divided many island shape. But liquid phases did not disappeared after holding for 7.2ks at 1453k. Isothermal solidification process at the bonding temperature which is higher than the liquation temperature of the grain boundary was controlled by diffusion of Ti to be result in liquation than B or Si. in insert metal. 일방향응고 Ni기 초내열합금 천이액상화산접합부의 미세조직에 미치는 모재와 삽입금속 분말 혼합비의 영향 (The Mixing Ratio Effect of Insert Metal Powder and Insert Brazing Powder on Microstructure of the Region Brazed on DS Ni Base Super Alloy)

  • The mixing ratio effect of the GTD-111(base metal) powder and the GNI-3 (Ni-l4Cr-9.5Co-3.5Al-2.5B) powder on TLP(Transient Liquid Phase) bonding phenomena and mechanism was investigated. At the mixing ratio of the base metal powder under $50wt\%$, the base metal powders fully melted at the initial time and a large amount of the base metal near the bonded interlayer was dissolved by liquid inter metal. Liquid insert metal was eliminated by isothermal solidification which was controlled by the diffusion of B into the base metal. The solid phases in the bonded interlayer grew epitaxially from the base metal near the bonded interlayer inward the insert metal during the isothermal solidification. The number of grain boundaries farmed at the bonded interlayer corresponded with those of base metal. At the mixing ratio above $60wt\%$, the base metal powder melted only at the surface of the powder and the amount of the base metal dissolution was also less at the initial time. Nuclear of solids firmed not only from the base metal near the bonded interlayer but also from the remained base metal powder in the bonded interlayer. Finally, the polycrystal in the bonded interlayer was formed when the isothermal solidification finished. When the isothermal solidification was finished, the contents of the elements in the boned interlayer were approximately equal to those of the base metal. Cr-W borides and Cr-W-Ta-Ti borides formed in the base metal near the bonded interlayer. And these borides decreased with the increasing of holding time.

  • Powder type Ag system insert metals were manufactured by mechanical alloying method. Alloying method was the ball milling process using zirconia ball media, and all alloying variables were constant except the milling time. The milling times were selected 24, 48 and 72 hours. The insert metals made by milling method were observed using scanning electron microscope and x-ray analyses. And also, the evaluation of wettability and microstructures of the insert metals were conducted to investigate the characteristics of the brazed joint. The wettability of the insert metals made by milling of 48 hours, was the best condition. And the insert metals contained Cd shows good wettability, however, there was the oxides residue on the brazing test specimen. The microstructures of the manufactured and the commercial insert metals were almost same displaying the Cu- rich proeutectic and Ag-rich eutectic. Further, there were some porosities. The 48 hours alloyed insert metal was exhibited the most sound brazed joint without containing porosity due to the superior wettability and good alloying condition.

A2024 와 SM45C 마찰용접의 열전달 해석 (Heat Transfer Analysis of Friction Welding of A2024 to SM45C)

  • The hear transfer mechanism initiating the friction welding is examined and a transient three dimensional heat conduc-tion model for the welding of two dissimilar cylindrical metal bars is investigated. The cylindrical metal bars are made of materials made of A2024 and SM 45C. Numerical simulations of heat flow are performed using the finite volume method. Respectively. Commercial FLUENT code is used in the heat flow simulation and maximum temperature and distribution of temperature are calculated. Temperature of friction welded joining face is compared with the temperature distribution measured by experiment and numerical simulation. The maximum temperature of friction welded joining face is lower than melting point of A2024-T6 aluminum alloy using insert metal. The temperature distribution of friction welded join- ing face with insert metal is more uniform than that of without inset metal.

  • Friction welding of GCD45 spheroidal graphite cast iron and 2024 aluminum alloy has been studied, especially in terms of the joint faces and strength of friction welding. For appropriate results of the friction welding of GCD45 graphite cast iron and 2024 aluminum alloy, an insert of A1050 pure aluminum metal was used. The joint strength of the A1050 pure aluminum insert approached the maximum strength of 165.7Mpa, compared to 128MPa for the joint between GCD45 graphite cast iron and A1050 pure aluminum without the insert metal. Maximum strength, 165.7Mpa, was possible for the following optimum conditions: 20MPa for the friction pressure, P1, 60MPa for the upsetting pressure, P2, 1 second for the friction time, t1, 3000rpm for the rotation, N, and 0.3 seconds for the brake time, tB.
