This study proposes a single-stage light-emitting diode (LED) tube lamp driver with input-current shaping for T8/T10-type fluorescent lamp replacements. The proposed AC-DC LED driver integrates a dual-boost converter with coupled inductors and a half-bridge series-resonant converter with a bridge rectifier into a single-stage power conversion topology. This paper presents the operational principles and design considerations for one T8-type 18 W-rated LED tube lamp with line input voltages ranging from 100 V rms to 120 V rms. Experimental results for the prototype driver show that the highest power factor (PF = 0.988), lowest input current total harmonic distortion (THD = 7.22%), and highest circuit efficiency (η = 92.42%) are obtained at an input voltage of 120 V. Hence, the proposed driver is feasible for use in energy-efficient indoor lighting applications.

In this paper, tunable transconductor shows good linearity over a wide input voltage range are proposed. The proposed transconductor employ operating in the nonsaturation(ie., linear) region to improve circuit simplicity and tunability and 6.8V$\_$p-p/ wide input range. Also the circuit employ source-coupled differential pair to provide true differential input and can achieve both positive and negative transconductance values. The proposed circuits are implemented using a 1.2 $\mu\textrm{m}$ single poly double metal n-well CMOS technology. The THD characteristic of proposed circuit is less than 1% for a differential input voltage of up to 6V$\^$p-p/ when supply bias condition is V$\_$DD/=-V$\_$ss/=5V, I$\_$B/=20, 40${\mu}$A, and frequency of input signal is 1KHz.

In this paper, a receiver for wireless power transfer is proposed. The receiver consists of a 100 W rectifier in 1.8 MHz frequency band, and a constant current charger. In particular, two kinds of protection circuits are installed in the rectifier. They are a over-voltage protection circuit which block the input voltages greater than 30 V and a active-dummy load which maintains the receiver input impedance by automatically consuming the remaining input power. The constant current charger is designed to charge the battery with a charging current of up to 1 A. A wireless charging system is fabricated using the proposed receiver. The system is composed of a 130 W transmitter, two magnetic resonator, and proposed receiver for charging a 48 V Li-Ion battery using the coupled magnetic resonance method. By the measurement result, the system efficiency is about 54 %.

There are critical drawbacks in fabricating MMIC transversal filters because the length of the conventional transversal filter structure is much longer than the width. In order to solve this structural problem, a transversal filter using multiple-coupled-line directional couplers which can achieve tight coupling is proposed. The length of the proposed transversal filter can be made short using multiple-coupled-line couplers so that the structure of the proposed filter is applicable to MMIC technology. Because of the dielectric and conductor losses, the excited signal at the input port becomes smaller when it progresses through each directional coupler. Therefore, the strength of the coupled signals at the latter directional couplers becomes smaller than the designed one and this, in turn, gives rise to performance aggravation. A modified coupling coefficient formula to prevent frequency characteristic degradation is introduced. The proposed filter structure and the design method are verified by the calculated result and 3D full-wave analysis.
High-gain DC/DC converters have become one of the key technologies for the grid-connected operation of new energy power generation, and its research provides a significant impetus for the rapid development of new energy power generation. Inspired by the transformer effect and the ripple-suppressed ability of a coupled inductor, a double-coupled inductor high gain DC/DC converter with a ripple absorption circuit is proposed in this paper. By integrating the diode-capacitor voltage multiplying unit into the quadratic Boost converter and assembling the independent inductor into the magnetic core of structure coupled inductors, the adjustable range of the voltage gain can be effectively extended and the limit on duty ratio can be avoided. In addition, the volume of the magnetic element can be reduced. Very small ripples of input current can be obtained by the ripple absorption circuit, which is composed of an auxiliary inductor and a capacitor. The leakage inductance loss can be recovered to the load in a switching period, and the switching-off voltage spikes caused by leakage inductance can be suppressed by absorption in the diode-capacitor voltage multiplying unit. On the basis of the theoretical analysis, the feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by test results obtained by simulations and an experimental prototype.

Advanced nonlinear effective stress constitutive models are started to be frequently used in one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) site response analysis for assessment of porewater generation and liquefaction potential in soft soil deposits. The emphasis of this research is on the assessment of the implementation of this category of models at the element stage. Initially, the performance of a coupled porewater pressure (PWP) and constitutive models were evaluated employing a catalogue of 40 unidirectional cyclic simple shear tests with a variety of relative densities between 35% and 80% and effective vertical stresses between 40 and 80 kPa. The authors evaluated three coupled constitutive models (PDMY02, PM4SAND and PDMY03) using cyclic direct simple shear tests and for decide input parameters used in the model, procedures are recommended. The ability of the coupled model to capture dilation as strength is valuable because the studied models reasonably capture the cyclic performance noted in the experiments and should be utilized to conduct effective stress-based 1D and 2D site response analysis. Sandy soils may become softer and liquefy during earthquakes as a result of pore-water pressure (PWP) development, which may have an impact on seismic design and site response. The tested constitutive models are mathematically coupled with a cyclic strain-based PWP generation model and can capture small-strain stiffness and large-strain shear strength. Results show that there are minor discrepancies between measured and computed excess PWP ratios, indicating that the tested constitutive models provide reasonable estimations of PWP increase during cyclic shear (ru) and the banana shape is reproduced in a proper way indicating that dilation and shear- strain behavior is well captured by the models.

An inductively coupled plasma source was prepared for the deposition of a-C:H thin film. Properties of the inductively coupled plasma source are investigated by fluid simulation including Navier-Stokes equations and home-made tuned single Langmuir probe. Signal attenuation ratios of the Langmuir probe harmonic frequency were 13.56Mhz and 27.12Mhz. Dependencies of plasma parameters on process parameters were accord with simulation results. Ar/CH4 plasma simulation results shown that hydrocarbon radical densities have their lowest value at the vicinity of gas feeding line due to high flow velocity. For input power density of 0.07W/cm3, CH radical density qualitatively follows electron density distribution. On the other hand, central region of the chamber become deficient in CH3 radical due to high dissociation rate accompanied with high electron density. The result suggest that optimization of discharge power is important for controlling deposition film quality in high density plasma sources.

This paper proposes the improvement of the etch rate of GaN using a magnetized inductively coupled $CH_4/H_2/Ar$plasma. The gradient magnetic field with the axial direction is investigated using Gauss-meter and the ion current density is measured using double Langmuir probe. The applied magnetic field changes the ion current density profile in the radial direction, resulting in producing the higher density in the outer region than in the center. GaN dry etching process is carried out based on the measurements of the ion current density. The each rate of 2000 /min is achieved with $CH_4/H_2/Ar$ chemistries at 800 W input power, 250W rf bias power, 10 mTorr pressure and 100 gauss magnetic field.

Two-dimensional steady state simulations of planar type radio frequency inductively coupled plasma (RFICP) have been performed. The characteristics of RFICP were investigated in terms of power transfer efficiency, equivalent circuit analysis, spatial distribution of plasma density and electron temperature. Plasma density and electron temperature were determined from the equations of ambipolar diffusion and energy conservation. Joule heating, ionization, excitation and elastic collision loss were included as the source terms of the electron energy equation. The electromagnetic field was calculated from the vector potential formulation of ampere's law. The peak electron temperature decreases from about 4eV to 2eV as pressure increases from 5 mTorr to 100 mTorr. The peak density increases with increasing pressure. Electron temperatures at the center of the chamber are almost independent of input power and electron densities linearly increase with power level. The results agree well with theoretical analysis and experimental results. A single turn, edge feeding antenna configuration shows better density uniformity than a four-turn antenna system at relatively low pressure conditions. The thickness of the dielectric window should be minimized to reduce power loss. The equivalent resistance of the system increases with both power and pressure, which reflects the improvement of power transfer efficiency.
