  • Welding technique is widely applied to general industry such as pressure vessel for chemical plant, pipe system, heavy industry, and automobile. There are some points which must be considered when robot system is used in welding automation process for productivity improvement. Welding quality is governed by heat input, and this quantity can be different according to shape, property, and thick of material . For desired heat input , weld input parameters such as welding voltage, current, and welding velocity must be determined with those consideration. Until now these parameters have been determined mainly by experience of operator. In this study, the size of welding zone was predicted by fuzzy rules were constructed from the relation between welding variables and weld pool size. Inverse model method which welding control input for welder is determined with optimum voltage and current by fuzzy controller is validatied by computer simulation.

  • Recently to increase the productivity and improve the quality in the industrial process, suppressing the residual vibration in motion control systems becomes the essential problem to solve. One of the methods to suppress the residual vibration is the input shaping technique. It is based on parameters of the system model; however, the parameters are usually difficult to obtain. This paper shows the effects of the residual vibration caused by the variation of the general velocity profile for the system with two vibration modes, and also shows the effects of the input shaping filter based on the parameters of system model. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed input shaping filter using an artificial immune algorithm is more effective for suppressing residual vibrations than genetic algorithm.

  • This paper deals with a fault detection algorithm for linear descriptor systems via unknown input PI observer. An unknown input PI observer is presented and its realization conditions is proposed by using the rank condition of system matrices. From the characteristics of unknown input PI observer, the states of system with unknown inputs are estimated and the occurrences of fault are detected, and its magnitudes are estimated easily by using integrated output estimation error under the step faults. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection algorithm.

  • In this study, transfer path identification and output estimation are simulated by multi-dimension spectral analysis method (MDSA). Multi -input/single-output system give expression the vehicle suspension which each inputs are correlated reciprocally. In case of correlating with inputs, the system needs separating the each input signal by MDSA. Main simulations are about finding effective input by coherent output spectrum and selecting optimal input's number by multiple coherence function. Also, by shielding transfer path of each input, transfer path characteristic is identified in terms of overall integrated contribution level.

  • Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dynamic matrix control (DMC) technique is applied to control steam temperatures in a large-scale ultrasupercritical once-through boiler-turbine system. Specifically, four output variables (i.e., outlet temperatures of platen superheater, finish superheater, primary reheater, and finish reheater) are controlled using four input variables (i.e., two spray valves, bypass valve, and damper). The step-response matrix for the MIMO DMC is constructed using the four input and the four output variables. Online optimization is performed for the MIMO DMC using the model predictive control technique. The MIMO DMC controller is implemented in a full-scope power plant simulator with satisfactory performance.

  • This paper deals with the trajectory tracking control of wheeled mobile robots with input constraint. The proposed method converts the trajectory tracking problem to the system stability problem using the control inputs composed of feedforward and feedback terms, and then, by using Taylor series, nonlinear terms in origin system are transformed into polynomial equations. The composed system model can make it possible to obtain the control inputs using numerical tool named as SOSTOOL. From the simulation results, the mobile robot can track the reference trajectory well and can have faster convergence rate of the trajectory errors than the existing nonlinear control method. By using the proposed method, we can easily obtain the control input for nonlinear systems with input constraint.

  • 2D input data have to be converted into 3D data by means of some functions and menu system in 2D input modeling system. But data in 3D input system for virtual spatial design can be directly connected to the 3D modeling data. Nevertheless, efficient surface modeling and deformation algorithm for the 3D input modeling system are not proposed yet. In this paper, problems of conventional NURBS surface deformation methods which can occur when applied in the 3D input modeling system are introduced. And NURBS surface deformation by 3D target curves, in which the designer can easily approach, are suggested. Designer can efficiently implement the virtual spatial sketching and design by using the proposed deformation algorithm.

  • Recently, development in information technology is mainly focused on mobile service, and most of mobile users are using various services based on wireless network. So the importance of system software or middleware, which enables such mobile services, is growing bigger and bigger, and one of those is character input/output system. This paper will introduce an alphabet input system, which decomposes a character to a series of strokes, by its formation principal. It is designed to make a person, who knows the character, to input characters in the way that he/she is actually writing down the character.

  • A system identification is to measure the output in the presence of a adequate input for the controlled system and to estimate the mathematical model in the basic of input output data. In the system identification, it is possible to estimate the true parameter values by the adjusted least squares method in the input-output case of no observed noise, and it is possible to estimate the true parameter values by the total least squares method in the input-output case with the observed noise. In recent the adjusted least squares method is suggested as a consistent estimation method in the system identification not with the observed noise input but with the observed noise output. In this paper we have developed the adjusted least squares method from the least squares method and have made certain of the efficiency in comparing the estimating results with the generating data by the computer simulations.
