Studies on the Preparation of Organic Compounds Labelled by $^{38}Cl$.(I) - Inorganic Yields of $^{38}$ Cl in Szilard Chalmer Reaction of Aromatic Chloro Derivatives

  • In order to clarify an effective procedure of labelling organic chloro compounds by $^{38}$ Cl, phenyl chloro derivatives(7 kinds), chloro nitrobenzenes(6 kinds), chloro anisoles(2 kinds), chloro anilines(3 kinds), chloro toluenes(3 kinds), benzyl cholorides(4 kinds), and other comparing samples(3 kinds) were irradiated in the TRIGA Mark-II research reactor and the inorganic $^{38}$ Cl yields were compared with the irradiation times after extracting the inorganic portion with an aqueous solution of alkali. It was found that the relative change between the inorganic $^{38}$ Cl yield and the irradiadiation time depends a great deal on the state of the sample, and a solid sample gave a lower and steady inorganic yield. The inorganic $^{38}$ Cl yield was decreased in the order of phenyl chloro derivatives < chloro tol uene$^{38}$ Cl yield of homo functional compounds and the number of chlorine atoms on the benzene ring. Generally, poly chloro substituted derivatives could give a higher yield than those of less chloro substituted. The results were discussed and the feasibility of these results for labelling purpose was criticized.

  • IDOD (Immediate Dissolved Oxygen Demand) is a value of the oxygen demand after 15 minute of inoculation by inorganic reducing salts. Industrial development and urban enlargement are bringing water pollution deeply, and industrial waste waters are the source of the inorganic reducing salts. Author investigated the IDOD value change according to the inorganic salts and gained the following results: 1. IDOD value influenced by $Na_{2}SO_3$ is 81.4 ppm. 2. Generally sulfur compounds are highly effecting on IDOD. 3. The nitrite salt had little influence on IDOD.

  • This study is concerned with the development of the SL inorganic floor covering. First, volatile organic compounds, inorganic test profile on the SL through the flooring is environment-friendly inorganic noncombustible floor finishes the event of fire toxic gases (such as volatile organic compounds) emissions have been identified as not at all. Second, SL-breathable material, the concrete floor to prevent aging, long life, which are three levels of noise, shock-absorbing function was decreased. Third, SL economic analysis of mineral flooring terrazzo tile floors compared with the normal material. On a terrazzo tile cost 13,500 won ~ 24,500 won, but It have found that, in terms of labor SL 36,899 won ~ 38,899 won flooring mineral balance. Occurs in the total amount when compared with terrazzo tile floors and 25,399 won 3T, 5T and economical analysis concludes that the original 12,399 won.

  • This paper deal with vehicle fire caused by damage of diesel particulate filter (DPF) on diesel passenger vehicles. In order to reduce particulate matters included exhaust gases, a DPF in the exhaust system were installed diesel vehicles. A DPF was broken by excessively trapped particulate matters, regeneration error with a malfunction of ECU and defect of suction system such as swirl valve. If the DPF was broken, hot exhaust gases was released to the bottom of vehicle and released hot exhaust gases lead to occur the fire through combustible materials around the exhaust system. When a fire happened in the diesel vehicle caused by damage of DPF, silicate inorganic compounds were attached to the exhaust ventilation pipe and muffler. The silicate inorganic compounds were created by DPF combustion consisting of raw material ceramics. If the silicate inorganic compounds attached to the tail pipe in the diesel passenger vehicles, its fire cause will be assumed damage of DPF.

A Selective Determination Method of Inorganic and Organic Mercury (무기수은과 유기수은의 선택정량)

  • A method of selective determination of inorganic and organic mercury compounds has been described. The $CHCl_3$ solution of a high molecular quaternary alkylammonium salt, Aliquat 336 was used for the simultaneous preconcentration of both inorganic, $Hg^{2+}$ as its thiocyanate complex, and organic mercury compounds, $CH_3HgCl$ and $C_2H_3O_2$ $HgC_6H_5$ by extraction from their aqueous solution. Selective separation of the inorganic mercury from the extract was followed by stripping with 3 M $HClO_4 $ solution for the subsequent determination by CVAAS. Organic mercury was also determined by CVAAS after removal of $CHCl_3solvent$ from the extract and decomposition of the residue with 4% $KMnO_4 $-1 MH_2$S0_4$. The mixtures of inorganic and organic mercury compounds contained 1.0 $\mug$ as Hg in 50 mL of sample solution(0.02 ${\mu}gHg/mL$) were analysed within ${\pm}6%$ by absolute errors.

Effect of Eco-friendly Inorganic Flame Retardants on Mechanical and Flame-Retardant Properties of EPDM Compound

  • In this study, the mechanical and flame-retardant properties of ethylene-propylene-diene-termonomer (EPDM) based rubber compounds and various other environmentally friendly inorganic flame retardants were investigated. Alumina trihydrate (ATH) and magnesium hydroxide (MDH) were used as inorganic flame retardants. The mechanical properties after thermal oxidation aging and the flame-retardant properties of the EPDM compounds were measured using a moving die rheometer, a universal testing machine, a compression set, and a UL 94 V flammability test. We focused on how the properties were affected by the type and amount of flame retardants. The results demonstrated that the optimal mechanical and flame-retardant V-0 grade properties were obtained at an ATH content of 200 phr.
