The Smart Medicine Delivery Using UAV for Elderly Center

  • Medication safety and medicine delivery challenge the well-being of the elderly and the management of the elderly center. With the outbreak of COVID-19, the elderly in the care center were challenged by the inconvenience of the medication restocking. The purpose of this paper accentuates the importance of the design and development of an UAV-based Smart Medicine Case (UAV-SMC) to improve the performance of medication management and medicine delivery in the elderly center. The researchers came up with the design of UAV-SMC in the light of the UAV and IoT technology to improve the performance of both Medication Practice Management (MPM) and Low Inventory Detection and Delivery (LIDD). Based on the result, with UAV-SMC, the performance of both MPM and LIDD was significantly improved. The UAV-SMC improves the efficacy of medication management in the elderly center by 26.97 to 149.83 seconds for each medication practice and 9.03 mins for each time of medicine delivery in Subang Jaya Malaysia. This paper only investigates the adoption of UAV-SMC in the content of elderly center rather than other industries. The authors consider integrating the UAV-SMC with the e-pharmacy system in the future. In conclusion, the UAV-SMC has significantly improved the medication management and guard the safety of elderly and caretaker in the elderly in the post-pandemic times.

Influential Factors for COBIT Adoption Intention: An Empirical Analysis

  • In recent years, IT organizations are in the process of introducing IT Governance as the concept and measure of transparency, accountability and effectiveness of IT activities and control for managing governance processes. In this paper, the influential factors for IT organizations to adopt COBIT(The Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) which is a typical framework for effective IT Governance execution were classified and analyzed empirically into internal and external factors. Internal factors were designed based on influential factors in the theory of innovation diffusion, and external factors were designed based on influential factors from outside certification which were absent in COBIT and expertise support from the outside. The result of this study showed that understandability, transition and effectiveness which were internal factors had no effect on COBIT introduction, and only expertise support among certification and expertise support which were external factors had significant effects. This result shows that there are lack of COBIT supports and introduction in internal IT organizations. It is expected that the result of this study will allow strategic approach of COBIT adoption in future by verifying influential factors of COBIT introduction within IT organizations.

미국 대학 도서관에서의 웹 2.0 어플리케이션 확산에 관한 연구 (Diffusion of Web 2.0 Applications in Academic Libraries in the U.S.)

  • 본 연구는 111개 북미연구도서관협회 멤버 도서관들을 대상으로 RSS, 블로그, 태깅, 팟캐스트, 위키 등 다섯 가지 종류의 웹 2.0 어플리케이션의 수용 정도와 확산 속도를 조사하였고 확산과 관련한 기관 차원의 요인을 파악하였다. 결과적으로 웹 2.0을 수용한 전체 도서관 수와 확산 속도로 미루어 보아 웹 2.0 기술은 계속해서 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 위키를 수용한 도서관들은 수용하지 않은 도서관들에 비하여 대체로 대규모 사이즈의 대학에 속해 있고, 직원 수가 많으며, 전자 자료에 대한 수용도가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • 현재의 농업은 농촌인구 고령화 및 도시로의 인구유출로 인하여 심각한 노동력 부족을 경험하고 있으며, 다양한 경제적 문제를 안고 있다. 4G 통신의 보급으로 시작된 최근 발전 정보통신기술의 확산과 더불어 사물인터넷 기술이 새롭게 대두되며, 다양한 산업과 융합하여 혁신적인 가치를 창출하고 있다. 사물인터넷 기술과 농업의 융합으로 확장된 6차 산업으로 농업은 노동집약산업에서 IT기반의 고부가가치 융합산업으로 발전할 수 있게 되었다. 첨단 농업인 6차 산업의 핵심 구성요소인 스마트팜은 농장제어와 관련한 센서와 장치를 하나의 플랫폼으로 구성되어있으며, 최근 스마트팜은 단순한 농장제어가 아닌, 작물의 생육환경을 분석하고 환경에 맞는 생육환경데이터를 제공하는 방법으로 발전하였다. 본 연구에서는 전통적인 방법의 농업 문제점을 해결하고 생산성 향상 및 수익성 개선을 통한 농촌경제 활성화 방안으로서의 스마트 농업을 제안하고자 한다. 또한 최근의 첨단 정보통신기술이 어떻게 기업에 영향을 미칠 수 있는가에 대하여 스마트 농장을 구축하여 성공적으로 운영하는 사례 농가 인터뷰를 통하여 스마트 농업의 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • This paper provides an overview of the experiences of the people's housing process (PHP) in South Africa. The discussion is done against the backdrop of the different outcomes of the government public housing provision initiative, commonly known as the Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) that directly produced more than three million subsidized housing to formerly segregated and disadvantaged populations. Notwithstanding the huge success in providing the much needed accommodation to such previously marginalized communities, the over-reliance on direct provision has the PHP ostensibly less impactful in housing delivery. Against the backdrop of the soaring housing backlogs, concerns with housing quality and the financial difficulties as well as the shrinking fiscal space; the article recommends improved support of the PHP. This can be achieved by the adoption of innovations that make land and minimal infrastructure and services available to the urban poor and to support their initiatives of self-building.

  • As the era of ChatGPT and generative AI technologies unfolds, the marketing industry stands on the precipice of a paradigm shift. Innovations such as GPT-4, DALL-E 2, and Mid-journey Stable Diffusion possess the capacity to dramatically transform the methods by which advertisers reach and engage with customers. The potential applications of these advanced tools herald a new age for the marketing and advertising sectors, offering unprecedented opportunities for growth and optimization. Nevertheless, the rapid adoption of generative AI within these industries presents a unique set of challenges, particularly for organizations that lack the necessary technological infrastructure and human capital to effectively leverage these innovations. As a result, a competitive crisis may emerge, exacerbating existing disparities between well-equipped enterprises and their less technologically adept counterparts. In this article, we undertake a comprehensive exploration of the implications of generative AI for the future of marketing, examining both its potential benefits and drawbacks. We consider the possible impact of these developments on the advertising and marketing industries at large, as well as the ways in which professionals operating within these fields may need to adapt to remain competitive in an increasingly AI-driven landscape. By providing a holistic overview of the challenges and opportunities associated with generative AI, this study aims to elucidate the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing evolution of the marketing and advertising sectors.

소비자의 라이프스타일 및 미디어 이용과 N스크린 서비스 수용 간의 관계 (The Relationships among Consumer Lifestyle, Media Usage, and Adoption of Nscreen Service)

  • 기존 미디어 서비스의 속성을 복합적으로 보유하면서도 서로 다른 단말기의 상호작용을 통해 새로운 가치를 제공하는 N스크린은 미디어와 콘텐츠, 그리고 소비자 간의 관계를 재구성하고 있다. 본 연구는 정보통신정책연구원의 2012년 한국미디어패널조사 통계조사에서 수집된 8,524명의 미디어 행태 자료 중 N스크린 이용을 중심으로 하여 서비스의 수용과 관련된 소비자 변수들과의 관계를 검증해 보고자 한다. 우선 N스크린 서비스 이용자와 비이용자 간에 인구통계변수, 미디어 이용 행태 중의 하나로서 온라인활동 참여, 라이프스타일 관련 활동 정도 및 제품구매성향, 기존 미디어 레퍼토리, 유료 콘텐츠 소비지출 등의 측면에서 차이가 나는지 각각 살펴보고 서비스 수용에 대한 다양한 변수들의 영향력을 종합적으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 소비자의 디지털 라이프스타일의 일부가 되고 있으며 미디어와 콘텐츠 소비 패턴의 변화를 주도할 것으로 예상되는 N스크린 서비스의 중요성에 주목하고, 서비스 수용과 관련이 있는 소비자들의 인구 통계학적, 사회심리학적 변수들과 미디어 행동 변수들을 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

건강 어플리케이션 비이용자에 관한 연구: 혁신확산이론을 중심으로 (An Analysis of Non-users of Mobile Healthcare Applications: Based on Diffusion of Innovations Theory)

  • 본 연구는 모바일 건강 어플리케이션의 사용을 방해하는 요인을 혁신확산이론에 따라 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 유의적 표집방법에 따라 비수용자(non-adopters)와 사용 중단자(rejecters)로 구성된 대학생을 모집하였다. 연구 참여자는 총 44명으로 남학생 32명과 여학생 12명으로 구성되었으며 서면인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 상대적 유익성, 복잡성, 시험가능성 및 관찰가능성 등과 같은 속성은 건강 어플리케이션의 채택이나 지속적 이용을 방해하는 심각한 요인으로 작용하지 않았으나, 상대적 불이익과 적합성은 커다란 방해요인으로 작용하는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 건강 어플리케이션이라는 혁신을 확산시키고 지속적 이용을 장려하기 위해서는, 상대적 유익성이나 복잡성을 개선하기 보다는, 상대적 불이익에 대한 인식을 재고하고 생활 적합성은 강화해야 한다는 점을 시사한다.

Factors affecting adoption of Internet Banking: A case study from India

  • The objective of this research is to find out the factors affecting adoption of Internet banking in India. The data is based upon a survey of 150 bank customers using a convenience sampling technique with the aid of a structured self-administered questionnaire. The research model was analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis. The recommended procedures have been tested which is measurement model and structural model. Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Risk, Image, Results Demonstrability, Perceived Behavioral Control and Subjective Norm were influence intention to use Internet banking. However, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Credibility and Computer Self Efficacy were not influence intention to use Internet banking. The findings of this study are expected to be of great use to the bank marketers. An understanding of the factors identified in this study allows bank managers to direct efforts and resources in the most effective and efficient way to increase bank business in the long run and encourage their bank customer's to adopt Internet banking. Moreover, this paper contributes to the empirical literature of diffusion of financial innovations, particularly Internet banking in a developing country, such as India.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore factors which influence adoption, implementation and continued use of tele-healthcare systems. Methods: Qualitative research was conducted by in-depth interviews with 17 professionals from various fields of organizations involved in developing and implementing tele-healthcare systems. Data were analysed thematically, using a conceptual model of diffusion of innovations. Results: The system users were reacted positively to the 3 attributes out of 9 which decided the adoption of innovation. In addition, it is required to redesign the tele-health care system simpler and easier so that the system users can access to the system much more easily regardless of space and time limitations. From the design stage on an individual level, it is necessary to conduct detailed needs analysis and listen to users who are at the center of innovation diffusion. On an organizational level, it is necessary to actively prepare for possible problems during system implementation, educate the users and build communication channels continuously. Conclusion: This study has identified the factors affecting the innovation of tele-health care systems and contributed to the understanding of the operation of tele-health care systems by the diffusion of innovation theory in community health posts.
