This study was motivated by the attempt to examine from versatile viewpoints the structural relationship between industrial environment, technology orientation and performances which are all factors related to technical innovation of small and medium-sized companies. In this regard, a survey was conducted to investigate the late industrial environment that could have direct and indirect impacts on the technology orientation of small and medium industry and, based on the survey, an analysis was carried out to determine the effects of its technology orientation on the performances in the technological innovation and management. The outcomes of the analysis could be summed up as follows: First, the factors of technology orientation turned out to have influence on those of industrial environment, which suggests the needs for the small and medium industry to consider the factors of industrial environment at multiple levels. Second, the technology orientation was found to influence the performances of technology innovation and management of small and medium industry in a structural manner, which signifies that the small and medium sized companies have to make strategic decision about the preference in the area of technology innovation and management performances.

The case company has driven the six sigma innovation programme company wide for the last seven years without any stop in spite of the CEO change. There was neither any benchmark nor the sufficient number of internal experts during the initial stage of driving six sigma. However, the company raised a lot of innovation experts such as MBB, BB and GB, thereby successfully changed the way of employees' doing work and reaped an enormous amount of either visible or invisible performances as a result of implementing the six sigma innovation programme. This paper deals with both main activities undertaken at each stage of the innovation life cycle of six sigma and their performances in a ICT (Information Communication Technology) industry. The performances are described from the four aspects of a balanced score card (BSC) and finally some strategic implications suggested.

The purpose of this study is looking for the effects of innovation on business performance in Korean SMEs. We were able to obtain participations of 169 questionnaire, and derived statistics by means of SPSS/PC version 15.0 and AMOS. In this study we found that employee's quality mind and organizational supports for company innovation activities are significant to product innovation and process innovation. The reason is easy to adoption and participation in the innovation for all the members of the staff. As a statistical result, the research conduced that both product innovation and process innovation largely affects the business performances increase.

본 연구는 국내 벤처기업들의 외부 협력이 그 협력의 대상 및 협력 내용별로 벤처기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 "벤처기업실태조사" 중 1,015개 벤처기업 자료를 활용하여 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 벤처기업과 연구기관 및 다른 중소 벤처기업간의 협력은 벤처기업의 혁신성과(지적재산권 보유 출원수)에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 대기업과의 협력은 중규모 이상의 벤처기업에서만 긍정적인 영향이 있었다. 또한 벤처기업과 대기업간의 협력의 경우, 공동기술개발 및 기술지도 이전 협력은 벤처기업의 혁신성과에 긍정적인 효과를 미친 반면, 직원교육 인적교류 및 공동마케팅 활동은 부정적인 효과를 미쳤다. 한편, 대기업과 거래관계에 있는 벤처기업이 공동기술개발 및 기술지도 이전 협력을 하는 경우에는 그 혁신성과 제고효과가 더 컸으며, 거래관계가 없는 대기업과 공동기술개발 및 직원교육 인적교류 협력을 하는 경우에는 오히려 혁신성과에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구의 결과는 벤처 기업의 외부협력은 벤처기업의 규모, 협력의 대상 및 그 협력활동의 내용과 거래관계의 유무 등에 따라 달라진다는 것을 보여주고 있어, 향후 대 중소기업간 협력정책 등 벤처기업의 외부협력 촉진정책 추진시에 고려해야 하는 요소들에 대한 시사점을 주고 있다.

Recently, in the bio-field success stories of ventures through a biosimilar technology is being excavated. but the growth of ICT industry has been stagnant since reaching a boom in the dissemination of early high-speed internet in 2000s. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors of change of business model and business strategy of ICT ventures and SMEs with the evolution of the digital ecosystem, and to drive the factors to be competitive on the global value chain. The researcher selected an entreprenuership, market-innovation orientation, technology-innovation orientation, and Administration-innovation orientation as internal factors influencing the global competence and healthiness of the ecosystem as external factors. The researcher applied samples of 94 ICT Venture and SMEs to a research model, and adopted 5 hypotheses. The researcher believes that only a few hypotheses were adopted because it takes time for overall innovation orientation of ICT Venture and SMEs to result in the real global competence as the their innovation orientation is still on the level of domestic market. And the researcher also thinks that only healthiness of the ecosystem affected management performances because the companies' performances of the last 3 years were so weak that the correlation between innovation orientation of each company and the performances were not big enough.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 제조 기업을 대상으로 기업조직의 재무성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치기 위해 CEO특성, 경영혁신, 경영통제시스템 간에 어떠한 적합성이 존재해야하며, 그리고 구체적으로 해당 변수들 간에 어떠한 인과관계가 존재하는지를 규명하고자 한다. CEO특성에는 위험감수성향, 성취동기로 측정하였고, 경영혁신은 제품혁신과 기술혁신으로 구분하였고, 경영통제시스템은 결과통제와 행동통제로 구분하여 측정하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 적용하여 적합성을 확인하고, 이 적합성이 재무성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 가를 실증 분석하였다. 적합성은 Ven de Ven and Drazin(1985)의 연구에서 적용한 세 가지 적합성(선택적 접근법, 상호작용 접근법, 시스템 접근법)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 세변수간의 상호작용 항이 재무성과에 유의적이 영향을 미치는 경우에 이들 간의 구체적인 인과관계를 파악하기 위해 경로분석을 이용하여 추가분석을 실시하였다

본 연구에서는 우리나라 제조업을 산업유형별로 나누어 제품혁신의 성과 및 기업특성에 따른 경쟁우선순위의 효과를 추정하고, 경쟁우선순위와 경영성과 간의 관계를 분석해 보았다. 이러한 분석을 통해 제조업 기업들의 효과적인 경쟁우선순위의 전략적 선택에 대한 유용한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 제품혁신의 성과에 따른 경쟁우선순위의 효과 분석 결과, 제품혁신 성과가 높을수록 경쟁우선순위의 효과가 증대되는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 경쟁우선순위와 경영성과와의 분석 결과에 있어서는 산업유형별로 경영성과에 유의적으로 영향을 미치는 경쟁우선순위가 각각 다른 것으로 추정되었다.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of business scope and technological capability on firm performance in SMEs. Existing studies on business scopes and technological capabilities have focused on the unilateral relationships with financial performances. This study examines the independent and interaction effects of business scopes and technological capabilities on financial performances of SMEs in capital industries. Based on 228 firm-level data, technological capabilities have positively significant impacts on performance. Business scope measured by product variety and number of buyers have been significantly positive relationships to financial performances. Also SMEs with technological capabilities can moderate the effects of business scope on their performances. However, the results show different relationships depending on measurements on business scope, technological capabilities and performance. The results provide interesting findings on strategic behaviors of SMEs when they pursue growth strategy through expanding business scopes and building technological capabilities.
