밀리미터파 대역 제2고조파 출력 발진기의 주입동기 특성 (Injection Locked Synchronization Characteristics of a Millimeter Wave Second Harmonic Oscillator)

  • A second harmonic millimeter wave oscillator utilizing sub-harmonic injection-synchronization is presented. A 8.7GHz oscillator with MES-FET is designed, and is driven as a harmonic output oscillator at 17.4GHz by means of sub-harmonic injection-synchronization. The oscillator operates as a multiplier as well as a oscillator in this scheme. Adopting this method, a high sable, high frequency millimeter wave source is obtainable even though self-oscillating frequency of an oscillator is relatively low. The range of injection-synchronization is about 26MHz, and is proportional to the input sub-harmonic power. The spectrum analysis of the 2nd harmonic output frequency shows remarkably decreased the phase noise level.

The Site of Administration of PGF$_2$ $\alpha$ Affects Estrous Synchronization and the Subsequent Pregnancy Rate

  • Two trials were conducted in a commercial dairy farm on heifer synchronization with PGF$_2$ $\alpha$. Animals showing estrus following the first injection were bred and animals not showing estrus were given the second injection 10 days later. In the first trial, the injection sites were rump and rump. In the second trial, the injection sites were rump and shoulder. Estrous detection was peformed 24 h after injection. Animals were bred by the same technician. In the first trial, the response rate for the first injection was 51.4% and the subsequent pregnancy rate of these animals was 60.0%. The response rate in the second injection was 57.1% and the pregnancy rate was 50.0%. In the second trial, the response rate in the first injection on the rump was 48.7% and the subsequent pregnancy rate was 70.6%. The second injection was given on the shoulder and the response rate was 60.0% and the subsequent pregnancy rate was 25.0%. The data suggests that the site of PGF2 $\alpha$ administration was critical to achieve success in estrous synchronization and pregnancy rates.

  • We theoretically studied synchronization of chaotic oscillation in semiconductor lasers with chaotic light injection feed-back induced chaotic light generated from a master semiconductor laser was injected into a solitary slave semiconductor laser. The slave laser subsequently exhibited synchronized chaotic output for a wide parameter range with strong injection and frequency detuning within the injection locking scheme. We also analytically examined chaos synchronization based on a linear stability analysis from the view point of synchronization based on a linear stability analysis from the view point of modulation response of injection locked semiconductor lasers to chaotic light signal.

Effects of Days Open on the Subsequent Reproductive Performance Following to CIDR-Based Estrus Synchronization in Lactating Dairy Cows

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of days open on subsequent reproductive performance following to estrus synchronization in the 114 lactating dairy cows. The animals were divided into two groups according to the time of estrus synchronization; viz, ${\leq}$ 85 days, and > 85 days postpartum, respectively. The estrus synchronization protocol consisted of insertion of a controlled internal drug release (CIDR) device containing 1.9 g progesterone with an injection of 250 ${\mu}g$ gonadorelin (Day 0), an injection of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ and removal of the device on Day 7, an injection of 250 ${\mu}g$ GnRH on Day 9, and TAI 17 h later. Pregnancy diagnosis was determined at 30 to 60 days after TAI using both ultrasonography and rectal palpation. The body condition score (BCS) gradually increased over the postpartum period. In estrus synchronized cows until 85 days, conception rate on first service, number of service per conception, interval from estrus synchronization to conception, and interval from calving to conception were not significantly different among two farms (P>0.05). In estrus synchronized cows after 85 days postpartum, conception rate on first service, number of service per conception and interval from calving to conception were significantly different ($P{\leq}0.05$) between herds A and B (26.8 vs 50.0%; $2.1{\pm}1.35$ vs $1.37{\pm}0.54$ times, $237.3{\pm}97.8$ vs $164.7{\pm}69.3$ days, respectively). In estrus synchronized cows after 85 days postpartum interval from estrus synchronization to conception was greater (P<0.01) in herd B than in herd A ($63.6{\pm}57.4$ vs $26.1{\pm}24.9$). These results indicate that the time of estrus synchronization for maximized the reproductive performance is before 85 days postpartum and feeding and management is important factor for high reproductive performance.

서브하모닉 주입동기에 의한 밀리미터파 대역 고조파 발진기의 고성능화 (High-Performance Millimeter Wave Harmonic Output Oscillator using Sub-Harmonic Wave Injection-Synchronization)

  • 서브하모닉파 주입동기에 의한 밀리미터파 대역 고주파원의 고성능화에 대하여 다루었다. MES-FET로 8.7GHz의 발진기를 구성하고 서브하모닉파의 주입동기 방식으로 구동하여 17.4GHz의 고조파를 발생시켰다. 이러한 시스템에서 발진기는 발진과 동시에 체배기의 기능을 수행하여 안정된 고조파 발생시킬 수 있다. 이 기술을 채택하면 자려발진주파수가 비교적 낮은 발진기로도 고안정, 고출력 고주파를 발생시키는 고조파출력 발진기를 실현할 수 있다. 실험의 결과, 주입 동기의 범위 26MHz 내에서 고출력 고조파가 관측되었으며, 서브하모닉파 주입전력에 비례하였다. 스펙트럼 분석기로 고조파 출력의 파형을 관측한 결과, 제2고조파 출력의 위상 안정성이 현저히 향상되었음이 확인되었다.

$PGF_2\alpha$의 투여부위가 젖소의 발정동기화율 및 수태율에 미치는 영향 (The Route of Administration of $PGF_2\alpha$ Affects Estrous Synchronization and the Subsequent Pregnancy Rate)

  • PGF$_2$$\alpha$의 투여부위가 젖소의 발정동기화율 및 그에 따른 수태율에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 하와이주의 대규모 농장에서 사육중인 미경산 젖소에 대하여 25mg Dinoprost trometamine을 투여한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 둔부(근육주사)-둔부(근육주사) 처리에 있어서 첫 번째 처리된 35두 중 18두 (51.4%)가 발정이 발현되었고 그중 9두가 수태되어 60.0%의 수태율을 나타내었다. 첫 번째 처리후 발정을 나타내지 않은 개체들에 대하여 10일후에 다시 둔부에 PGF$_2$$\alpha$를 처리한 결과 14두중 8두(57.1%)가 발정이 유기 되었고 그중 4두가 수태 되어 50.0%의 수태율을 나타내었다. 2. 둔부(근육주사)-어깨부위(피하주사) 처리에 있어서 첫 번째 처리된 39두중 19두 (48.7%)가 발정이 발현되었고 그중 12두가 수태되어 70.6%의 수태율을 나타내었다. 첫 번째 처리후 발정을 나타내지 않은 개체들에 대하여 10일후에 에께부위에 PGF$_2$$\alpha$를 처리한 결과 20두중 12두(60.0%)가 발정이 유기 되 었고 그중 3두가 수태되어 25.0%의 수태율을 나타내었다. 3. 둔부 처리의 경우 점액이 유출된 27두중 18두(66.7%)가 수태로 이어졌고 점액이 유출되지 않은 13두중 5두에서 수태로 이어졌다 어깨처리의 경우에는 점액이 유출된 2두중 1두(50.0%)가 수태로 이어졌고 점액이 유출되지 않은 10두중 1두(10.0%)만이 수태로 이어졌다.

Hormone induced recipients for embryo transfer in mice

  • Embryo transfer (ET) in the animal is an important procedure to generate genetically engineered animals and conserve genetic resources. For ET experiments in mice, pseudopregnant recipients are usually prepared with proestrus stage of females and vasectomized males. However, this conventional method is inefficient because the size of female colonies should be large to select only the proestrus stage in the estrous cycle and the surgical procedures are required to generate vasectomized males. In this study, we established a simple and efficient protocol to prepare ET recipients using the estrous synchronization with hormone injection and the mating with wild male mice. The delivery rate of ET recipients tended to be increased with estrous synchronization using hormone injection (100%) compared to the conventional method (71%). Further, natural pregnancy of the recipients, induced by mating with a wild male, significantly enhanced the birth rate of ET offspring than the conventional method (33% vs. 13%). Based on the results, we concluded that our new protocol using hormone injection to ET recipients and mating with wild males could be more efficient and simpler compared to the conventional method.

Effect of Using Progesterone Releasing Intravaginal Device with Ovsynch Program on Reproduction in Dairy Cattle during Summer Season

  • Sixty postpartum lactating Friesian cows in 3 treatments at a commercial dairy farm were used to study the effect of using progesterone supplementation with GnRH and PGF2$\alpha$ synchronization with and without timed AI on fertility during summer. Cows in treatment1($Tr_1$) and treatment2 ($Tr_1$) were fitted with progesterone releasing intravaginal device (PRID) device and injected with 10 g GnRH agonist on $51{\pm}3$ d postpartum (pp). Seven days later, PRID was removed and cows received 25 mg PGF2$\alpha$. Two days later, $Tr_1$ cows received another injection of 10 g GnRH and timed AI 16-20 h later. Control cows received only 25 mg PGF2$\alpha$ $58{\pm}3d\;pp$. $Tr_2$ and control cows were AI at detected estrus. Serum progesterone for all cows was determined on days of injection, AI and 21, 23 and 28 d postinsemination. Pregnancy rates from first AI based on serum P4 concentrations on d 21, 23 and 28 postinsemination (50, 40 and 35%) and that based on rectal palpation 40-45 d postinsemination (30, 15 and 15% for $Tr_1$, $Tr_2$ and control cows, respectively) did not differ among the three groups. Whereas, pregnancy rate at 120 d pp for $Tr_1$ (65%) was higher (p<0.05) than that in $Tr_2$ (30%) or control (30%). The overall pregnancy rate was not significantly different (90, 90 and 75% for $Tr_1$, $Tr_2$ and control, respectively). Days open for cows in $Tr_1$ ($100.3{\pm}9$) was less (p<0.03) than that in $Tr_2$ ($130.9{\pm}9$) or control ($135.1{\pm}10$). Results indicate that using PRID device with Ovsynch program had significantly increased pregnancy rate and decreased days open compared to AI at detected estrus after synchronization with GnRH, PRID and PGF2$\alpha$ or synchronization with one injection of PGF2$\alpha$.

해석적 중복을 이용한 내연 기관 엔진의 동기화 처리 이상 진단 (A Method of Fault Diagnosis for Engine Synchronization Using Analytical Redundancy)

  • We consider a problem of application of analytical redundancy to engine synchronization process of spark ignition engines, which is critical to timing for every ECU process including ignition and injection. The engine synchronization process we consider here is performed using the pulse signal obtained by the revolution of crankshaft trigger wheel (CTW) coupled to crank shaft. We propose a discrete-time linear model for the signal, for which we construct FDI (Fault Detection & Isolation) system consisting residual generator and threshold based on linear observer.

고압 분사 디잴 인잭터의 노즐 형상이 분사 특성 및 분무 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of nozzle geometry on the injection characteristics and spray behavior)

  • This paper describes the characteristics of injection rate and macroscopic behavior of fuel spray injected from common-rail type diesel injectors with different nozzle geometries. The injection rates according to the nozzle geometries were measured at different energizing duration of the injector solenoid and injection pressure by using the Bosch's injection rate meter based on the pressure variation in the tube. The spray behaviors injected from the different nozzles were visualized using the spray visualization system composed of an Ar-ion laser, an ICCD camera, and a synchronization system at various injection and ambient pressures. It is revealed that VCO nozzle has higher spray tip velocity at the early stage of injection duration and wider spray cone angle than the mini-sac nozzles. Also the spray cone angle is increased with the increase of nozzle diameter.
