  • To obtain high quality component with thixoforming process, it is important that the homegeneous distribution of solid particles without liquid segregation. In closed-die semi-solid forging process, liquid segregation is strongly affected by injection velocity than any other process variables because the material has to travel relatively long distance to fill the cavity through a narrow gate before solidification begins. The optimal injection velocity and die temperature were investigated to fabricate near-net-shape compressor component called Al frame.

  • In this study, feasibility of expansion of BFL equivalence ratio are examined with change of injection location of hydrogen gas in intake pipe, coolant temperature, spark timing and amount of residual gas. As the results, BFL equivalence ratio is increased when injection location has some distance from intake valve. And it is decreased in accordance with increasing of coolant temperature and advance of spark timing. The amount of residual gas has little effect on BFL equivalence ratio.

  • In this paper, experimental study on the wan impingement spray of the common-rail diesel injector is performed. To examine the effect of various factors on the development of spray impinging on the wall, experiments were conducted at the various injection pressures. ambient pressures, wan distances from the injector tip, wall temperatures, and angles of wall inclination. The behaviors of the impingement spray ate visualized by using laser sheet methods and a ICCD camera. It is shown that the spray path penetration of the wall impingement spray increases with the increase of injection pressure, wall distance. wall temperature, wall angle. On the other hand the spray path penetration of the wan impingement spray decreases with the increase of ambient pressure.

  • This study suggested the occurrence source of weld-defects and its solution methods in a welding of Electrolyte injection hole by pulsed Nd:YAG laser. In experiment, the ramp down was used in order that solidification crack was removed. Furthermore. shrinkage stress and heat input were reduced by changing of weld trajectory and defocused distance. As a results of a experiment, a sound weld bead shape and crack-free weld bead can be obtained. In conclusion this show that the welding stability is greatly affected by modulation of laser pulse shape for the same laser energy and welding parameters.

  • In a water treatment process a complete and homogeneous dispersion of the coagulants in the raw water could be most important factor. This research was performed to evaluate coagulation performance of the in-line-orifice mixer which was recently introduced as a rapid mixing device. The test was to determine the actual coagulant dispersion distribution on the overall cross-section at a distance of 1.6~3D from the chemical injection point by measuring zeta potential. From the results of zeta potential test, it was shown that the coagulant dispersion within the in-line orifice mixer was occurred very unevenly. The results have confirmed that it is necessary to increase the velocity of coagulants injection or pressurized water rates, in order to reduce nonuniform distribution of chemicals.

  • GaN deposition equipment and processes for the fabrication of white LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) using MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) were numerically modeled to analyze the effects of a reactive gas introduction strategy. The source gases, TMGa and $NH_3$, were injected from a shower head at the top of the chamber; the carrier gases, $H_2$ or $N_2$, were introduced using two types of injection structures: vertical and horizontal. Wafers sat on the holder at a radial distance between 100 mm and 150 mm. The non-uniformity of the deposition rates for vertical and horizontal injection were 4.3% and 3.1%, respectively. In the case of using $H_2$ as a carrier gas instead of $N_2$, the uniform deposition zone was increased by 20%.

  • The main objective of this work is to investigate the effect of ambient conditions on the spray behavior and spray characteristics of high-pressure fuel injector. For this purpose, the effects of ambient pressure and temperature on the spray characteristics have been studied by applying the analysis of visualization system and phase Doppler particle analyzer. In this experiment, the visualization of spray behavior was performed under various ambient gas conditions and injection parameters such as gas temperature, ambient pressure, injection pressure of injector, and axial distance from the nozzle tip. Based on the investigation results, the spray tip penetration and spray width decrease with the increase of ambient gas pressure in the spray chamber. The effects of the spray parameters on the microscopic characteristics of gasoline spray were discussed.

  • As a representative method for mass production, a multi-cavity type mold capable of simultaneously molding products of the same shape can be applied. It has the advantage of improving the productivity from several times to several tens of times, but it may cause disadvantages which is the quality deviation with each cavity. This study, therefore, has tried to increase the cavity filling balance by using a melt flipper and a flow distance control part in the runner part of the mold. Along with this, the design and manufacturing of air vents during injection molding have been verified through experimental methods to achieve a higher level of multi-cavity filling balance and dimensional accuracy.

  • This paper analyzes changes in the external radiation dose rate of PET-CT test patients as a part of providing basic materials for reduction of radiation exposure to PET-CT test patients. In theory the measurement of external radiation dose rate of PET-CT test patients shows that the further the distance from the patient injected with radioactive pharmaceutical and a longer time elapsement from the injection leads to a smaller amount of radiation. Particularly, the amount of radiation marked the highest in the chest was at 4.17 minutes immediately after the intravenous injection and in the head after 77.47 minutes after urination in advance to the PET-CT test. As in the generalized information, it is desired to keep distance between the patient and caretakers or professionals to reduce the amount of radiation exposure from PET-CT test patients and to resume contact the patient after the time when the radiation has reduced. If contact is unavoidable, it is desired to keep at least 200cm from the patient. In addition, the amount of radiation reached the highest in the chest at first and then in the head from 77 minutes after injection. Accordingly, it would be helpful in achieving the optimization if contact is made based on the patient's physical characteristics. This study is significant as it measures changes in radiation the dose rate by; distance from the PET-CT test patient, time elapsed, and specific parts of body. Further studies based on the findings in this paper are required to analyze changes in radiation dose rate in accordance with individual characteristics unique to PET-CT patients and to utilize the results to reduce the amount of radiation patient, caretakers and professions are exposed.
