자동차용 시트백 커버의 저압사출성형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Low Pressure Injection Molding of Automotive Seat-back Cover)

  • In this paper, the injection molding process of automotive seat-back cover is analyzed in terms of simulation and of experiment. FE analysis was used to obtain molding conditions such as injection pressure, filling pattern, packing, shrinkage. Vacuum system for low pressure injection molding is developed in the experiment. Low pressure injection molded parts have been compared with conventional molded parts in terms of molding quality and mechanical properties. Based on the results, good product and the productivity improvement can be obtained in low pressure injection molding for automotive seat-back cover.

직접분사식 디젤엔진에서의 공해저감을 위한 전자분사 시스템에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Electronic Injection System for Pollutant Reduction in a DI Diesel Engine)

  • The pump-pipe-injector system is that most commonly used type of injection equipment for diesel engines. In this study, a new electromagnetic fuel injection system was designed and carried out the experiment of single cylinder direct injection(DI) diesel engine. This system do not need the cam shaft for fuel injection. The effects of the injection timing on the combustion process and emission were investigated. The results are that 1) atomization was improved, 2) combustion pressure was increased and ignition delay became shorter than before, 3) Low smoke level guarantee with more advanced injection timing without abnormal combustion but NOX concentration was increased as the injection time advanced.

  • In his study the simulation was carried out by simplifing and modeling dividing into fuel injectioin pump high pressure pipe and fuel injection valve in the fuel injection system of a low speed marine diesel engine. A computer simulation model was developed using the method of characteristics to analyze the unsteady flow in the fuel injection system considering cavitation and variation of fuel density and bulk modulus. Comparison was commenced between the calculated data and experimental data of pressure and injection quantity at the high pressure distributor in fuel injection system for the training ship "M/V hanara" the effects of the high pressure pipe length diameter plunger diameter nozzle openning pressure were also investigated by simulating results.g results.

  • In this study, the automatic packaging system for small injection molding product is developed. In most of injection molding company, many problems such as manpower problem, productivity decline and inferiority rate increase are occurred since processes after injection molding are executed by hands. The automatic system which is developed is for packaging small injection molding products as 6mm ball. Finally, many problems of injection molding process are resolved and the productivity will increase by applying developed system to field and this technique lays the groundwork for developing similar automatic system.

전자유압식 분사계에 의한 초고압 디젤분무의 입경분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Droplet Size Distribution of Ultra High Pressure Diesel Spray on Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System)

  • In order to investigate the droplet size distribution and Sauter Mean Diameter in a ultra high pressure diesel spray, fuel was injected with ultra high pressure into the environments of high pressure and room temperature by an Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System. Droplet size was measured with the immersion liquid sampling technique. The immersion liquid was used a mixture of water-methycellulose solution and ethanol. The Sauter Mean Diameter decreased with increasing injection pressure, with a decrease environmental pressure (back pressure) and nozzle diameter. Increasing the injection pressure makes the fuel density distribution of the spray more homogeneous. An empirical correlation was developed among injection pressure, air density, nozzle diameter and the Sauter Mean Diameter of spray droplets.

  • 고속회전 연료분사시스템의 분무특성을 연구하였다. 분무특성에 영향을 주는 직렬식 분무오리피스의 직경을 각각 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm와 분무오리피스 수를 3개, 6개, 12개로 변화시켜가며 분무특성 연구를 수행하였다. PDPA 측정 시스템을 이용하여 분무입자의 크기와 속도, 분무분포 등을 측정하였고, 고속카메라를 이용하여 분무가시화를 수행하였다. 실험결과, 분무오리피스로부터 분출된 단일 액주의 길이는 회전속도에 의해 제어되며, 분무입자의 크기(SMD)는 분무오리피스의 직경과 수가 증가함에 따라 작아지는 경향을 보였다. 결국 분무입자의 크기를 제어하는 기본 메커니즘은 분무 오리피스내의 액막의 두께에 의해 결정됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is used in spark ignition (SI) engines. Fuel injection rate of an injector is affected by fuel temperature and pressure in LPG liquid injection systems for either a multi-point-injection (MPI) or a direct injection (DI) engine. Even fuel injection conditions are varied, the air-fuel ratio should be accurately controlled to reduce exhaust emissions. In this study, a correction factor fur the fuel injection rate of an injector is derived from density ratio and pressure difference ratio. A compensation method of injected fuel amount is proposed for a fuel injection control system. The experimental results for the LPG liquid injection system in a SI engine show that this system works well fur a full range of engine speed and load condition, and the air-fuel ratio is accurately controlled by the proposed correction factor.

  • A computer simulation with predict the fuel injection rates and the fuel injection pressure behaviors in diesel engine fuel injection systems would by very useful in designing or improving fuel injection systems. In this paper we developed computer program in order to predict the behaviors of the fuel injection rate and the injection pressure for Electronic Hydraulic Ultra-High Pressure Fuel Injection System. We've applied the continuity and momentum equations for the hydraulic phenomena and the dynamics of individual components of the Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System. To solve all the equations numerically we've applied the Runge-kutta IV method. Water hammer equations were applied for the hydraulic pipe solution, and the method of characteristics was employed in our calculations. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results for: Accumulator pressure, Injection pressure and unjection rate. As a result, The simulation results agree very well with our experimental results. We found that a large accumulator and the high speed solenoid valve were required, and the compression volume of the fuel had to be as small as possible in order to acheive ultra-high pressure fuel injection.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation/Water Injection Experimental Results for NOx Emission Reduction in Diesel Engine

  • This paper presents the static characteristics of EGR-WI combined system. The water injection system was statically characterized by recording the engine exhaust outlet $NO_x$ emissions for comparison with baseline $NO_x$ emissions. Effects of the water injection system on CO and HC emissions and fuel consumption were examined. The research engine used for these experiments was a 103 kW turbocharged, intercooled, 2.5 L VM Motori CIDI engine equipped with a cooled EGR system. Water injection in the intake system demonstrated the potential for significant reductions in engine outlet $NO_x$ emissions. The system has reduced engine outlet $NO_x$ emissions by 40-50%, but caused significant increases in CO and HC emissions, particularly at low loads. Fuel consumption effects were minimal.

  • The design of delivery system is one of the most important subject in injection molding. Delivery system is a channel to flow the polymer melt from the injection molding machine to the mold cavities and affect quality and productivity of the part. The synthesis of delivery system of injection molding has been done empirically, since it requires profound knowledge about the moldability and causal effects on the properties of the part, which are not available to designers through the current CAD systems. A knowledge-based CAD system is constructed by adding the knowledge module to an existing geometric modeler and contains knowledge to permit non-experts ad well as mold design experts to generate the acceptable geometries of gate and runner for injection molded parts.
