사출성형공정에서 다수 품질 예측에 적용가능한 다중 작업 학습 구조 인공신경망의 정확성에 대한 연구 (A study on the accuracy of multi-task learning structure artificial neural network applicable to multi-quality prediction in injection molding process)

  • In this study, an artificial neural network(ANN) was constructed to establish the relationship between process condition prameters and the qualities of the injection-molded product in the injection molding process. Six process parmeters were set as input parameter for ANN: melt temperature, mold temperature, injection speed, packing pressure, packing time, and cooling time. As output parameters, the mass, nominal diameter, and height of the injection-molded product were set. Two learning structures were applied to the ANN. The single-task learning, in which all output parameters are learned in correlation with each other, and the multi-task learning structure in which each output parameters is individually learned according to the characteristics, were constructed. As a result of constructing an artificial neural network with two learning structures and evaluating the prediction performance, it was confirmed that the predicted value of the ANN to which the multi-task learning structure was applied had a low RMSE compared with the single-task learning structure. In addition, when comparing the quality specifications of injection molded products with the prediction values of the ANN, it was confirmed that the ANN of the multi-task learning structure satisfies the quality specifications for all of the mass, diameter, and height.

  • In the present study, warpage characteristics of mobile phone cover through injection molding process were investigated by using design of experiments. Warpage in plastic injection molding process has a significant effect on quality of product. Effects of injection time, packing pressure, packing time, mold temperature ana melt temperature on warpage of mobile phone cover were considered by CAE analysis and experiment with Taguchi method. The degree of warpage for the injection molded product was measured by using three dimensional CMM. It was shown that temperature parameter has more significant effect on the warpage of mobile phone cover than pressure parameter.

  • Recently, monitoring systems, such as POP, take a core role in scheduling or planning of manufacturing facilities for production, maintenance, and so on. Such monitoring systems require functionalities for real-time parameter monitoring and controlling to maximize efficiency of facilities. However, vendors usually do not provide internal communication protocols or interface to access the machine controller. Therefore, the values of parameters related to machine operations and controls cannot be easily accessed from external devices. In this paper, we propose an interface methodology for a real-time monitoring and controlling of injection molding machine parameters such as user input parameters, embedded sensor data and injection molding status information.

사출성형 시 성형제품치수에 미치는 패킹변수의 영향 (Effects of Packing Parameter on Plastic Article Dimensions in the Plastic Injection Molding)

  • The molding process can be divided into five separate steps: plastification, injection, holding, cooling, and finally ejection. In the plastic injection molding, the effect factor such as mold temperature, injection speed, packing pressure and inhomogeneous cooling under packing process affects both the article dimension and physical characteristics. Especially, the packing pressure is the most critical factor to affect molded articles quality among the packing parameters. In this paper, the CAE simulation considering the molding condition is performed to predict the faulty cause which appears in the packing process between cavities of injection molding machine. From the results of CAE simulation, the packing phenomena according to the product form and the gate position was investigated to improve the article quality and minimize the various molding defects. The effect of packing pressure and gate number on the injection molding was discussed.

  • Injection mold is a manufacturing process used to produce parts of complicated shape at a low cost. Many factors affect the quality of injection molded part during injection molding process. A study on the optimization of injection mold is progressed by using a simulation software like Moldflow. Filling, packing and cooling phases of injection molding processes are analyzed according to the mold design considering the shrinkage of molded part, the degree of filling rate and the wearing of a mold. Taguchi method is applied to analyze the significance of processing parameter and the dynamic characteristics according to the variation of processing parameters. From the results, the mold temperature and packing pressure influenced the shrinkage of injection molded part.

  • Double-color Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical, fluid power part and electric electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of double-color injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. Partial system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like pressure, flow rates, displacement at each node and so on. Analysis modeling and compared the data which gets from experiment and the analysis result which has a reliability got data. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit for developing a double-color injection molding machine.

  • So far, an alternator pulley has been formed by cold forging and casting with a metal due to the necessity of its high strength. Various advantages such as the light weight, the low cost, and the high productivity can be obtained by the injection molding process using engineering plastics. Engineering plastics have an excellent performance in the characteristics off strength vs. weight, a good forming ability and a productivity. The object of this study is to develop an alternator pulley, which has been made with a metal, using the injection molding process based on Taguchi methods. A sink mark is considered as a characteristic parameter to improve the quality. The FEM Simulation CAE tool, Moldflow, is used for the analysis of injection molding process.

  • In recently industry, with the miniaturization and high-precision of machine part, the development of mold manufacturing technology for mass production is accompanied by the development of new industrial field such as IT, NT and BT. The metal injection molding(MIM) process combines the well-known thermoplastic injection and powder metallurgy technologies to manufacture small parts for IT, NT, BT industrial. In this study, the bar type MIM mold with a 800um thickness is made for influence of feedstock material and injection parameter through an experiment.

  • A study to analyze and solve problems of plastic injection molding experiment has presented in this paper. We have taken Taguchi's parameter design approach, specifically orthogonal array, and determined the optimal levels of the selected variables through analysis of the experimental results using S/N ratio.
