Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore health-related experiences of the foreign wives. Methods: A qualitative research design was used to understand the health-related experiences of foreign wives. Ten informants were interviewed from December 2007 to December 2009. Results: The health related life experiences of foreign wives were analyzed within a self development process; Choice and struggle, Change and opportunity, and Settlement and expectation. The theme of choice and struggle includes physical and emotional stress in the initial stage of marriage. The second process of change and opportunity focused on the coping strategies of the women having power after knowledge acquisition from the multicultural family support center. The last theme was health and happiness from the women' perspectives. Conclusion: This study has emphasized the health condition of the foreign wives. Since foreign wives are members of Korean society, health care professionals need to design health services to meet their needs.

Author outlines briefly developments of policies relating to telecommunication infrastructure and databases since latter half of 1970′s. There exist three phases. The first phase was from later 1970′s to 1985, which was an initial stage of electronic information service in Japan. In the second phase, 1985～1990, basic policy change made possible the privatization of telecommunication services and proliferation of database products and vendors, The third phase began in early 1990′s with downsizing in computer usage, wide-spreading information networks and rapid dissemination of personal computers. Then author describes offers on policy formation for "novel information infrastructure" and current situation concerning the "Internet" in Japan. Finally, tasks and problems for implementing new generation program for information infrastructure and database usage are pointed out, These are knowledge resource, cost, copyrights and cultural problems including language.

The major problem at a branch point for point-to-multipoint available bit rate(ABR) services in asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks is how to consolidate backward resource management(BRM) cells from each branch for a multicast connection. In this paper, we propose an efficient feedback consolidation algorithm based on an adaptive dynamic threshold(ADT) to eliminate the consolidation noise and the reduce the consolidation delay. The main idea of the ADT algorithm lies in that each branch point estimates the ABR traffic condition of the network through the virtual queue estimation and the transmission threshold of the queue level in branch points is adaptively controlled according to the estimation. Simulation results show that the proposed ADT algorithm can achieve a faster response in congestion status and a higher link utilization compared with the previous works.

Multiple Antenna Technologies such as Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) and Beamforming provide the increase of channel capacity and the reliability of wireless link. To obtain these advantages, WiBro, Mobile WiMAX and $4^{th}$ Generation System are employing multiple antenna technologies. There exist, however, many technical issues in considering the application of the technologies or the providing of services using them. In this paper, various technical topics are discussed and simple solutions are proposed. Beamforming has several technical issues which include coverage imbalance, difficulties in providing Multicast-Broadcast Service (MBS). In Addition, network planning is a critical point from a cell extension and initial network entry point of view. In case of MIMO, network deployment is discussed in that cellular data network such as WiBro has many repeaters. MIMO mode selection for maximizing the cell capacity is also covered.

In this article, the current technological state of OPC (Openness, Productivity, and Collaboration; formerly "OLE for Process Control") standards and the problem statement of these OPC standards are discussed. The development of an OPC clientserver framework for monitoring and control systems is introduced by using the new OPC Unified Architecture (UA) specifications, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services, XML, etc. The developed framework in turn minimizes the efforts of developers in learning new techniques and allows system architects and designers to perform dependency analysis on the development of monitoring and control applications. The potential areas of the proposed framework and the redundancy strategies to increase the efficiency and reliability of the system are also represented according to the initial results from the system that was developed by the Visual Studio 2008 and OPC UA SDK.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of multizone simulation that enables to grasp of details about microbial contaminant problem in an multistoried apartment. We used actual indoor test data to figure up microbial contaminant level as initial value for the multizone simulation and estimated the various effects of indoor occupant infected with germs such as bacteria and fungus and the performance of air sterilization by using multizone simulation in substitute for infeasible experimental approach. The results show that natural ventilation make ourselves generally useful for removing indoor microbial contaminants. The results also show that the performance of air sterilization reach the maximum in the case of using mechanical ventilation and UVGI air sterilizer. The conclusion is that this multizone simulation is useful tool for actual design method for immune building systems.

Developing an interactive satellite multi­media system, such as a digital video broadcasting (DVB) return channel via satellite (RCS) system, is gaining popularity over the world To accommodate the increasing traffic demand we are motivated to investigate an alternative for improving return channel utilization We develop an efficient method for optimal packet scheduling in an interactive satellite multimedia system using hybrid CDMA/TDMA channels. We formulate the timeslot-code assignment problem as a binary integer programming (BIP) problem, where the throughput maximization is the objective, and decompose this BIP problem into two sub-problems for the purpose of solution efficiency. With this decomposition, we promote the computational efficiency in finding the optimal solution of the original BIP problem Since 2001, ETRI has been involved in a development project where we have successfully completed an initial system integration test on broadband mobile Internet access via Ku-band channels using the proposed resource allocation algorithm.

In the field of Internet of Things (IoT), smarter embedded devices offer functions via web services. The Quality-of-Service (QoS) prediction is a key measure that guarantees successful IoT service applications. In this study, a collaborative filtering method is presented for predicting response time of IoT service due to time-awareness characteristics of IoT. First, a calculation method of service response time similarity between different users is proposed. Then, to improve prediction accuracy, initial similarity values are adjusted and similar neighbors are selected by a similarity threshold. Finally, via a densified user-item matrix, service response time is predicted by collaborative filtering for current active users. The presented method is validated by experiments on a real web service QoS dataset. Experimental results indicate that better prediction accuracy can be achieved with the presented method.

I propose adding users’Media Access Control (MAC) addresses to standard X.509 certificates to provide more secure authentication. The MAC address can be added by the issuing Certification Authority (CA) to the "extensions" section of the X.509 certificate. I demonstrate that when two users with MAC address information on their digital certificates communicate, the MAC address on the first user’s certificate can be easily verified by the second user. In this way, security can be improved without markedly degrading system performance and the level of initial trust between participants in virtual communities will be improved.

Web Services 기술의 발전과 더불어 Service-Oriented Architecture(SOA)에 기반을 둔 많은 프로젝트들이 발생하고 있다. 그러나 실질적으로는 SOA에 대한 개념의 부족으로 인하여 효율적인 프로젝트 관리가 이루어지고 있지 못하고 있다. 특히 SOA 개념을 EAI 프로젝트에 적용하는 경우에는 많은 연관된 작업들이 있음에도 불구하고 체계적인 프로젝트 절차가 마련되어 있지 못한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 산업계 전반에 많이 소개되고 있는 Project Management Institute에서 제안한 PMI 모델을 기반으로 SOA 프로젝트 착수 및 계획 단계의 특징 및 차이점을 살펴보고, 국내 현실에 맞는 착수 및 계획 단계의 산출물을 정의하고 이를 기반으로 착수 및 계획 단계의 관리 모형을 제시하고자 한다.
