  • Objectives The Korean Medicine (KM) PHR platform is a personalized healthcare service which allows individuals to keep and manage their own health records. When parents are reporting for their children from their memories, there is high possibility of recall errors. In these cases, it could be useful for doctors to collect the patient's symptoms through PHR platform. In this study, we aimed to investigate the clinical significance of the PHR by using the KM PHR platform in the pediatric clinic. Methods The PHR platform was used to collect child health information from parents and child care teachers. The collected data were analyzed in comparison with the results of screening by pediatrician. Results A total of 58 children were recruited, 44 of which health information were collected from their parents and their child care teachers. The remaining 14 children's health information were collected from their parents only. As a result the parents tended to perceive their children weaker than the child care teacher. Compared to other organs, there was a only significant difference in the heart weakness score and spleen weakness score in the comparison of the weak and healthy children. Conclusions Although the study was conducted on a small group of subjects, and used PHR platform developed specifically for adults to indirectly input child's symptoms, and analyzed their health information, there was a difference in health records between information providers. Development of PHR platform for children is needed to collect more reliable information.

  • This paper describes ASIC design of Multimedia application SoC platform based RISC processor with BTB(Branch Target Buffer). For performance enhancement of platform, we use a simple branch prediction scheme, BTB structure, that stores a target address for branch instruction to remove pipeline harzard. Also, the platform includes a number of peripheral such as VGA controller, AC97 controller, UART controller, SRAM interface and Debug interface. The platform is designed and verified on a Xilinx VERTEX-4 FPGA using a number of test programs for functional tests and timing constraints. Finally, the platform is implemented into a single ASIC chip which can be operated at 100MHz clock frequency using the Chartered 0.18um process. As a result of performance estimation, the proposed platform shows about 5~9% performance improvement in comparison with the previous SoC Platform.

  • The importance of software in the engineering field is increasing day by day, so the utilization and understanding of the simulation software in the engineering design stage has become the core competence of the engineer. This study presents a new software education method for multiple systems in the field of mechanical engineering using a workflow execution environment as a sub-module of a computational platform (called EDISON platform) that can incorporate in-house software tools developed by many simulation tool developers. It can execute not only individual software tools such as fluid flow, structure, optimal design, but also conduct connective executions of multiple software tools. Based on this simulation environment, a methodology was proposed that can be applied to convergence types of engineering educations. By properly using this methodology, it is expected that beginning engineers could encourage their specialties understanding the big pictures of the analysis processes.

  • Micro Grid is a new concept of electrical grid to solve several problems of Mega-Grid and it is under research and development at the national level around the world. With this background, Micro Grid Common Platform has been developed for interoperability technology of devices-systems in Micro Grid and securing enabler for new market. For supporting business models, Micro Grid Common Platform provides electric power information to Third-Party licensee via Open API function. Licensee, who want to develop electric power application by connecting to Micro Grid Common Platform, needs IDE(Integrated Development Environment) for service development and distribution. The paper proposes a service development tool for developing applications of Micro Grid Common Platform as a PaaS (Platform as a Service).

  • SLGT (Superconducting Low-frequency Gravitational-wave Telescope) platform has three arms whose ends support six superconducting test masses. Therefore, any motion of the platform could cause noises on measuring the displacements of test masses which contain the effect of gravitational waves passing by. Thermal motions of the platform are the main noise source, and are related to resonant motions of the platform structure. We briefly report preliminary results of nodal analysis in finite element method performed for various platform configurations including 2-m, 30-m, 50-m and 100-m arm lengths. Platform designs giving resonant frequencies outside of the signal bandwidth (e.g., 0.1~10 Hz) have been identified.

  • This study is a preliminary study to develop an evaluation framework necessary for evaluating the DataON platform. The first objective is to examine expert perceptions of the level of DataON platform construction. The second objective is to evaluate the importance, stability, and usability of DataON platform features over OpenAIRE features. The third objective is to derive weights from the evaluation perspective for future DataON platform evaluation. The fourth objective is to examine the preferences of experts in each evaluation perspective and to derive unbiased evaluation criteria. This study used a survey method for potential stakeholders of the DataON platform. The survey included 12 professionals with at least 10 years of experience in the field. The 57 overall functions and services were measured at 3.1 out of 5 for importance. Stability was -0.07 point and usability was measured as -0.05 point. The 42 features and services scored 3.04 points in importance. Stability was -0.58 points and usability was -0.51 points. In particular, the stability and usability scores of the 42 functions and services provided as of 2018 were higher than the total functions were, which is attributed to the stable and user-friendly improvement after development. In terms of the weight of the evaluation point, the collection quality has the highest weight of 27%. Interface usability is then weighted 22%. Subsequently, service quality is weighted 19%, and finally system performance efficiency and user feedback solicitation are equally weighted 16%.

  • We have developed an information management tool for the EDISON (EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net) open platform. EDISON is, at present, a web-based simulation service for education and research in five computational areas, namely, nanophysics, fluid dynamics, chemistry, structural dynamics, and computer aided optimal design. The EDISON open platform consists of three tiers: EDISON application framework, EDISON middleware, and EDISON infra-resources. The platform provides web portals for education and research in areas such as computational fluid dynamics, computational chemistry, computational nanophysics, computational structural dynamics, and computer aided optimal design along with user service. The main purpose of this research is to test the behavior of the release version of the EDISON Open-Platform under normal operating conditions. This management tool has been implemented using the RESTful API designed in EDISON middleware. The intention is to check co-operation between the middleware and the infrastructure. Suggested tools include User management, Simulation and Job management, and Simulation software (i.e., solver) testing. Finally, it is considered meaningful to develop a management tool that is not supported in other web-based online simulation services.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) is commonly referred to as a future internet technology to provide advanced services by interconnecting physical and virtual things, collecting and using many data from them. The IoT platform is a server platform with a common architecture to collect and share the data independent of the IoT devices and services. Recently, oneM2M, the global standards initiative for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications and the IoT announced the availability of oneM2M Release 2 specifications. Accordingly, this paper presents a new oneM2M-compliant IoT platform called Mobius 2.0 and proposes its application to collect the biosignal data from wearable IoT devices for emotion recognition. Experimental results show that we can collect various biosignal data seamlessly and extract meaningful features from the biosignal data to recognize two emotions of joy and sadness.
