  • This study is to adjust the focus on the statistical survey about the rates of application for the 2005 Susi second semester admission to Universities in Daegu, Kyungbook. The decrease of population for university admission and the change of paradigm of selecting a field of specialization in university will have an adverse effect on ratios of admission. This is very important to the future of university in Daegu, Kyungbook.

건설안전정보시스템 구축에 관한 연구 (Development of the Construction Safety Information System)

  • In construction industry, workers' accident rates are relatively high compared to those of other industries. These high accidents rates are mostly due to the characteristics of construction process. In order to effectively reduce the accident rates, it is required to develop not only immediate measures but also long-term programs of instruction, training, and education. In addition, well-analyzed information on past history is required for the prevention of accidents. By examining about 800 cases of construction accidents that happened between Jan. 1992 and Dec. 2000, this paper developed an information system that provides appropriated safety information to the construction workers. This system is expected to contribute to the workers' safety in construction industry.

Can Coupon Holding Duration and Message Framing Increase the Effect of Push Notifications on Mobile Coupon Redemption? Evidence from A Randomized Field Experiment

  • We propose a mobile coupon strategy designed to increase the effect of push notifications on redemption. The proposed strategy recommends that firms deliver mobile coupons with distant expiration dates and remind them through push notifications framed negatively once these expiration dates become imminent, rather than frequently sending coupons with near expiration dates. We test the effectiveness of the proposed strategy using data collected through a randomized field experiment. The findings indicate that push notifications enhance coupon redemption rates for coupons that are held longer by customers than those that are recently received. Additionally, we found that sending negatively framed push notification messages to remind customers of imminent coupon expiration dates further resulted in higher coupon redemption rates. The findings can be employed to offer useful guidance on how to effectively design mobile coupons for achieving higher redemption rates.

  • This paper deals with logistic regression models for analysing separation rates from majors. The model building procedure shows how to incoporate the effects of some factors causing from three-way nested sampling scheme and discusses what type of characteristics as independent variables directly affecting the rates should be considered.

  • 단계적 금리자율화의 시행을 계기로 금융계에서는 시장금리의 체계적 예측이 중요한 문제점으로 대두되고 있다. 금융의 자율화, 국제화, 대형화는 금융기관간의 경쟁유발과 금융시장의 판도에 심각한 변화를 초래하였다. 또한 시장금리의 변화는 금융기관의 수익에 결정적인 영향을 미친다. 따라서 대부분의 금융기관은 시장금리를 과학적이고 체계적으로 해석하기 위하여 금리결정요인에 대한 연구 및 향후 금리수준을 예측하기 위한 금리예측모형의 개발을 활발히 진행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시계열분석에 근거하여 예측의 정확도를 높이고 컴퓨터환경의 체계화로 사용의 편리성을 극대화한 금리예측 시스템을 개발하고 이의 활용도에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

  • 이 논문에서는 OFDM 및 SC-FDE 시스템에서 다이버시티 기술의 적용이 채널부호화율에 미치는 상관관계에 대해서 살펴본다. OFDM 시스템에서는 채널의 다중경로 프로파일에 따라서 적절한 채널부호화율의 결정이 필요하며 순환지연 다이버시티 기술을 적용하는 경우가 시공간 부호화 기술을 적용하는 경우보다 더 낮은 채널부호화율을 필요로 한다. 이에 반해서 OFDM에 DFT 확산을 적용한 SC-FDE 시스템에서는 낮은 채널부호화율을 적용할 필요성이 없으며 다이버시티 기술의 적용과 상관없이 상대적으로 높은 채널부호화율이 사용될 수 있다.

Utilization of Simulation and Machine Learning to Analyze and Predict Win Rates of the Characters Battle

  • 최근, 대전 게임 분야에서, 가상 캐릭터들의 효과적인 설계를 위해 캐릭터의 승률을 효율적으로 예측할 수 있는 방법들이 매우 필요하다. 우리는 본 논문에서 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 시뮬레이션과 기계 학습을 결합하는 방법을 제안한다. 우선 대전 게임에서 가상 캐릭터의 대전 승률을 분석하기 위해서 시뮬레이션을 사용하고, 가상 캐릭터의 능력치에 따라서 승률을 예측하기 위해 회귀 모델에 기반한 기계 학습 기법을 적용한다. 제안한 기법으로 실험한 결과는 시뮬레이션 결과로 나온 승률과 기계 학습 기법이 예측한 승률이 거의 차이가 없다는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 간단한 회귀 모델에 기반한 기계 학습으로도 실험에서 좋은 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

Advanced ZigBee Baseband Processor with Variable Data Rates for Internet-of-things Applications

  • In this paper, an advanced ZigBee (AZB) system for internet-of-things (IoT) applications is proposed which can support various data rates from 31.25 Kbps to 2 Mbps, and the implementation results of the AZB baseband processor are presented. Repetition coding for 32-chip direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) symbol is applied for low rates under 250 Kbps to extend the coverage. Convolution coding, puncturing, and interleaving for non-DSSS symbol are performed for high rates from 500 Kbps to 2 Mbps for multi-media services. Simulation results show that the coverage increases at the rate of 51.8-77.3% for various environments compared with IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee. AZB baseband processor was implemented in 180 nm CMOS process and total gate counts are 260K with the size of $5.8mm^2$.

  • A poled lead zirconate titanate (PZT) rectangular parallelepiped specimen was subjected to through-thickness electric fields at five loading rates and four temperatures. The rates of the electric field were 0.01, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, and $1.00MVm^{-1}s^{-1}$; the temperatures were 20, 50, 80, and $110^{\circ}C$. From the measured polarization hysteresis responses, the so-called reference remnant polarization and strains were calculated. Using the calculated reference remnant polarization hysteresis loops, the effects of loading rates and temperature were discussed; using the calculated reference remnant strains, strain butterfly loops were calculated and compared with observations.

Emergence of Curbside Pickup: Consumers' Usage Intention Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

  • This study examines how consumers' intention to use a curbside pickup responds to the COVID-19 vaccination rates. With our first survey conducted in March 2021, we find that a low (high) vaccination rate is associated with consumers' high (low) intention to maintain contact avoidance and their high (low) anticipation for shipping delays. Heightened contact avoidance and anticipation for shipping delays may encourage consumers to use a curbside pickup. Our results also show that when a product is needed immediately, and a consumer expects shipping delays, s/he is more likely to use a curbside pickup. However, with our second survey conducted in November 2021, we find heterogeneous consumer responses to the vaccination rates. Specifically, consumers' political affiliation moderates the relationship between the vaccination rates and their intention to maintain contact avoidance. The association between the vaccination rates and the anticipation for shipping delays is also weakened compared to March 2021. Our empirical results illustrate how consumers' intention to use a curbside pickup emerges and changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
