Transcription factors govern diverse aspects of cell growth and differentiation as major switches of gene expression. Etv5, a member of the E26 transformation-specific family of transcription factors, has many stories to share when it comes to reproduction. Etv5 deficient mice show complex infertility phenotypes both in males and females. In males, the infertility phenotype exhibited by Etv5 deficiency is sexually dimorphic, and it involves both somatic cells and germ cells. In $Etv5^{-/-}$ female mice, the problem is more complicated by hormonal involvement. This review synthesizes old and new information on this versatile transcription factor-from the inadvertent discovery of its role in the testes to its newly discovered role in maintaining spermatogonial stem cells.

These days cities are in the stage of inter-competition and emboss the placeness which they have. The marketing is emphasized for urban regeneration in backward cities and the dominant position in the urban competition. This study focuses on the place marketing with potential factors which the places have. In addition, this study intends to research the marketing through showing centers and the method to commercialize the places with the factors to success, Planning-Group, Place Identity and Place Image, and Public-private Partnerships, in the case of the Dongdaemun Market. Finally, the study intends to show politic significance for preferable objects of place marketing for the network of the fashion-cluster, differentiation of the rapid productivity, the foreign information centers, the dongdaemun sewing association, and the merchant association as the consequence of comparable analysis.

The development of information & telecommunication technology and internet-based electronic commerce helps to create a new economic environment. Such an economic environment requires the companies to change themselves, while providing unlimited potential and opportunities to them. Thus, in order to help the companies engaged in a fair and free competition in the electronic market, a fair competition policy needs to be designed and operated. The electronic commerce has not only promote the competition but also impede it. The electronic commerces tend to violate the fair trade than the conventional commerces in terms of differentiation, monopoly, conference, limited competition and intellectual property rights, schumpeterian competition, Alliance competition. With such basic concepts in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the economic effects of the electronic commerce in the market and addressing the problems involving the application of the fair trade code to the electronic commerce, and thereby, suggesting the insights into our fair competition policy and reform measures.

This study aims to summarize and make a reference of Sagunjatang and Samultang by investigating and comparing the effects of prescriptions. In this process, this review surveyed all papers used Sagunjatang and Samultang in PubMed database and finally 36 papers were included. The publication year, the nations of authors, the type of materials, the formation of experiments, the type of herbal medicine, and their action and mechanisms were analyzed. The number of studies on Sagjunjatang and Samultang has increased since 1990's. The main formation of experiments was in vivo study and the portion was 55%. The proportion of the research using prescriptions was 71%. Sagunjatang was investigated in the field of GI track function, anticancer effect, radioprotective effect and etc. Samultang was studied in the field of anticancer effect, brain cognitive function, anti-inflammatory effect, cell protective effect, and etc. Based on these results, Sagunjatang and Samultang showed the different bioactivities. This study will provide the useful information on differentiation and analysis of the effect of herbal prescriptions by the theory of Korean traditional medicine.

Due to the rapid development of the hardware divisions, varied and low-price mobile devices were provided to not only end-users but also widespread industry. However, in the software divisions, the characteristics of the software such as closed and differentiation causing restrictions of development. Therefore, it requires high costs and long times in the development process. In this paper, we introduce the Mobile Platform Middleware based on L4 Microkernel which provides linux-like environment and services for other mobile application platforms such as BREW and WIPI to facilitate easily development and migration of applications for mobile devices.

In this study, I investigate the role of post-consonantal fundamental frequency (F0) as a cue for automatic distinction of types of Korean stops and affricates. Rather than examining data obtained by restricting contexts to a minimum to prevent the interference of irrelevant factors, a relatively natural speaker independent speech corpus is analysed. Automatic and statistical approaches are adopted to annotate data, to minimise speaker variability, and to evaluate the results. In spite of possible loss of information during those automatic analyses, statistics obtained suggest that vowel F0 is a useful cue for distinguishing manners of articulation of Korean non-continuant obstruents having the same place of articulation, especially of lax and aspirated stops and affricates. On the basis of the statistics, automatic classification is attempted over the relevant consonants in a specific context where the micro-prosodic effects appear to be maximised. The results confirm the usefulness of this effect in application for Korean phone recognition.

Personal Communication Networks will be composed of ATM-based broadband ISDN in the future. However, unlike the wired networks, many challenges will arise in the wireless communication service such as PCS. These callenges are frequency alteration of cell routing path, relatively very high error rate at transmission over the wireless interface, etc. Particularly, the alteration of cell routing path caused by handoff makes temporary deterioration of QoS. In this paper, the signaling flows of handoff scenarios which may occur on Personal Communication Networks are presented, and verified by Pertri-Net toolkit. In addition, the cell flow control scheme which minimizes the lagging gap between cells and maintains the cell sequence during handoff is proposed. The proposed scheme can be summarized as the differentiation of normal queue and handoff queue, and the cell flow control between these queues. For verification of the proposed scheme, we used two approaches, which are mathermatical manipulation and SLAM simulation.

Rapid changes in the period has altered the changes in consumption. The concept of consumption changed from simply being supplied with goods to the one that considers values' or buying images such as services and information along with the product. Diversification or individuality of values caused demands in store differentiation for companies in industrial activities and due to such demands, a necessity of visual merchandising needed for strategic image plans has been emphasized. Therefore, an objective of this research was to clarify differences of demographical variables of clothing purchase behavior according to the response level of department store VMD and to investigate about the correlations with clothing purchase behavior to provide fundamental guidelines in establishing strategies of VMD according to consumption motivation as a new perception about life style.

Primary brain tumor accounts for 1.4% of entire cancer. For males between the ages of 15 and 34 years, central nervous system tumors account for the leading cause of cancer death. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET has been reported that it can provide important diagnostic information relating to tumor grading and differentiation from non- tumorous condition. In addition, the degree of FDG metabolism carries prognostic significance. By mapping the metabolic pattern of heterogeneous tumors, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET can aid in targeting for stereotactic biopsy by selecting the subregions within the tumor that are most hypermetabolic and potentially have the highest grade. According to clinical research data, FOG PET is expected to be a helpful diagnostic tool in the management of brain tumors.

Traffic flows of real-time multimedia services such as Internet phone and IPTV are bounded on the end-to-end delay. Packets violating their delay limits will be dropped at a router because of not useful anymore. Service providers promise the quality of their providing services in terms of SLA(Service Level Agreement), and they, especially, have to guarantee the packet loss rates listed in the SLA. This paper is about a method to guarantee the required packet loss rate of each traffic flow keeping the high network resource utilization as well. In details, it assures the required loss rate by adjusting adaptively the timestamps of packets of the flow according to the difference between the required and measured loss rates in the lossy Weighted Fair Queuing(WFQ) scheduler. The proposed method is expected to be highly applicable because of assuring the packet loss rates regardless of the fluctuations of offered traffic load in terms of quality of services and statistical characteristics.
