  • This study aimed to clarify the effect of information technology (IT) education on the efficiency and effectiveness of working processes among agriculture corporations. Survey data on information levels from 222 agriculture corporations were collected from the Korean Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (EPIS) for a governmental white paper. Structural equation modeling was used for analysis. This study found that IT education increases the ratio of the use of information systems in working processes, especially given the use of data accumulated through information and communications technologies (ICT). The findings of this study suggest that the use of ICT data as an aspect of IT education is beneficial for the agricultural sector.

  • These days, a conversion of the fast-advancing ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) and the IoT (Internet of Things) has been in progress. However, these conversion Technology could lead to many of the security threat existing in the ICT environment. The security threats of car in the IoT environment could cause the property damage and casualty. There are the inadequate preparations for the car security and the difficulty of detection for the security threats by itself. In this paper, we proposed the decision-making framework for the anomaly detection and found out what are the threats of car in the IoT environment. The discrimination of the factor, path and type of threats from the attack against the car should take priority over the self-inspection and the swift handling of the attack on control system.

  • Advances in mobile and wireless networking technologies have enabled mobile ad hoc networks applicable to a wide range of areas. Many cases of even such ad hoc networks demand to be accessible to the global network. Owing to be diversified in features depending on applications, however, some those networks may consist of devices or nodes which do not facilitate all the same transport protocols. This results in unreachable situations of establishing ad hoc network: such as non-existence of all required access points, faults or contention in a path of particular protocol communication. Interworking between different transport protocols can alleviate such problems. This paper proposes an interworking scheme to improve data transport performance and network accessibility, especially in such a mobile ad hoc network that is applicable to data communications among ships or user's convenient u-health services. Modeling and simulation analysis are used to verify the improvement.

  • Full-mesh IPSec tunnels pass through a black ("unsecure") network (B-NET) to any red ("secure") networks (RNETs). These are needed in military environments, because they enable dynamically changing R-NETs to be reached from a BNET. A dynamically reconfiguring security policy database (SPD) is very difficult to manage, since the R-NETs are mobile. This paper proposes advertisement process technologies in association with the tunnel gateway's protocol that sends 'hello' and 'prefix advertisement (ADV)' packets periodically to a multicast IP address to solve mobility and security issues. We focus on the tunnel gateway's security policy (SP) adaptation protocol that enables R-NETs to adapt to mobile environments and allows them to renew services rapidly soon after their redeployment. The prefix ADV process enables tunnel gateways to gather information associated with the dynamic changes of prefixes and the tunnel gateway's status (that is, 'down'/restart). Finally, we observe two different types of performance results. First, we explore the effects of different levels of R-NET movements on SP adaptation latency. Next, we derive the other SP adaptation latency. This can suffer from dynamic deployments of tunnel gateways, during which the protocol data traffic associated with the prefix ADV protocol data unit is expected to be severe, especially when a certain tunnel gateway restarts.

  • A communications profile is a system that acquires information from communication links to an ambulance or other vehicle moving on a road and compiles a database based on this information. The equipment (six sets of HDTVs, fish-eye camera, satellite antenna with tracking system, and receiving power from the satellite beacon of the N-star) mounted on the roof of the vehicle, image data were obtained at Yokohama Japan. From these data, the polygon of the building was actually produced and has arranged on the map of the Geographical Survey Institute of a 50 m-mesh. The optical study (relationship between visibility rate and elevation angle) were performed on actual data taken by fish-eye lens, and simulated data by 3D-Map with polygons. There was no big difference. This 3D map system then predicts the communication links that will be available at a given location. For line-of-sight communication, optical analysis allows approximation if the frequency is sufficiently high. For non-line-of-sight communication, previously obtained electric power data can be used as reference information for approximation in certain cases when combined with predicted values calculated based on a 3D map. 3D maps are more effective than 2D maps for landing emergency medical helicopters on public roadways in the event of a disaster. Using advanced imaging technologies, we have produced a semi-automatic creation of a high-precision 3D map at Yokohama Yamashita Park and vicinity and assessed its effectiveness on telecommunications and ambulatory merits.

  • Smart hospitals involve the use of recent ICT (information and communications technology) technologies to improve healthcare access, efficiency, and effectiveness. Standardization in smart hospital technologies is crucial for interoperability, scalability, policy formulation, quality control, and maintenance. This study reviewed relevant international standards for smart hospitals and the organizations that develop them. Specific attention was paid to robotics in smart hospitals and the potential for standardization in this area. The study used online resources and existing standards to analyze technologies, standards, and practices in smart hospitals. Key technologies of smart hospitals were identified. Relevant standards from ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) were mapped to each core technology. Korea's leadership in smart hospital technology were highlighted. Approaches for standardizing smart hospitals were proposed. Finally, potential new international standard items for robotics in smart hospitals were identified and categorized by function: sampling, remote operation, delivery, disinfection, and movement tracking/contact tracing. Standardization in smart hospital technologies is crucial for ensuring interoperability, scalability, ethical use of artificial intelligence, and quality control. Implementing international standards in smart hospitals is expected to benefit individuals, healthcare institutions, nations, and industry by improving healthcare access, quality, and competitiveness.

  • A key issue toward mobile multimedia communications is to create technologies for broadband signal transmission that can support high quality services. Such a broadband mobile communications system should be able to overcome severe distortion caused by timevarying multi-path fading channel, while providing high spectral efficiency and low power consumption. For these reasons, an adaptive suboptimum decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for the single-carrier shortburst transmissions system is considered as one of the feasible solutions. For the performance improvement of the system with the short-burst format including the short training sequence, in this paper, the multiple-training least mean square (MTLMS) based DFE scheme with soft decision feedback is proposed and its performance is investigated in mobile wireless channels throughout computer simulation.
