Purpose: Traditionally, information technology acceptance have been considered one of the most important research issues. However non-acceptance, which was main objective of acceptance theories, have not been included in main research area by communities of information systems. This study is to identify the factors influencing non-acceptance of information technology and suggest a total research model for explaining the phenomena of non-acceptance. Design/methodology/approach: Grounded theory was adopted as a principal research method. which is an inductive technique of interpreting qualitative data about a social phenomenon to build theories about that phenomenon. Data were collected by depth interview and open question on potential non-adopters during 3 months. The collected data were coded by two main coding paradigm in ground theory, open coding and axis coding. Findings: Factors influencing non-acceptance, status quo, imitation, value evaluation, and concerning risk were extracted from open coding. These factors were integrated into system 1 thinking and system 2 thinking, which were from axis coding. More specifically, status quo and imitation are system 1 thinking which are more responsive and emotional thinking and value evaluation and concerning risk are system 2 thinking which are more rational and reasoning thinking.
The purpose of this study was to verify and analyze the factors that influence the acceptance intention of u-Commerce users under ubiquitous computing environments. To accomplish this, the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) of Davis(1989), which has widely been cited in new technologies such as information technology(IT) and information systems(IS) studies was used to develop the research model. First of all, personal characteristics affecting the acceptance intention of u-Commerce were identified as individual variables through literature review. Utilizing the use of the individual variables and the TAM model, the u-Commerce acceptance intention model was established. The research findings indicated that IT acceptance forms and frequencies in IT use did not have a significant impact on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of u-Commerce. It was also found that the perceived usefulness proposed in the u-Commerce acceptance model influenced the perceived usefulness. Both ease of use and usefulness were identified to influence attitude for use. Finally, usefulness and attitude for use also positively influenced acceptance intention. The contribution of this study was the examination of the factors affecting acceptance intention of users in u-Commerce and the verification of the usefulness of the TAM model in describing the acceptance of u-Commerce users using structure acceptance model. Furthermore, this study has empirically analyzed how personal characteristics widely used in the study of acceptance of IT can influence the acceptance of u-Commerce.

The technology acceptance model (TAM) is a lot of cited in information technology adoption and usage researches. TAM has a base in psychological research, is parsimonious, explains usage behavior quite well, and can be operationalized with valid and reliable instruments. But TAM has been conducted primarily in volitional environments of the adoption of new technology. This paper discusses technology acceptance in accounting information systems to examine TAM with subjective norm and perceived behavioral control in mandated using environments. The results show that in mandatory environments such as accounting information systems, subjective norm is not a significant effect on the behavioral intention. Perceived usefulness and perceived behavioral control are significant the factor on the behavioral intention. The implications of finding are that perceived usefulness and perceived behavioral control play major role in technology acceptance rather than subjective norm in accounting information systems with mandatory environments.

This study analyzed the users acceptance of e-Government services. Many IT(Information Technology) adoption studies appeared the TAM(technology adoption model) of Davis[1989] as a theoretical background. The TAM composed of three factors those are the perceived easy of use, the perceived usefulness, and intention to adoption of IT. However, TAM did not explain the consequences of intention to adoption and antecedents of the ease of use and usefulness in IT adoption. To overcome limitations of TAM, many technology acceptance studies done. In this study, the researcher suggested the IT acceptance model for explaining users adoption of e-Government service based on the model of IT acceptance of Wixom and Todd[2005]. The model of Wixom and Todd[2005] based on the TAM of Davis[1989], IT adoption model of Taylor and Todd[1995] and, IS(Information Systems) success model of Delone and Mclean[1992, 2003]. For testing our research model, the researcher collected data from 200 users of e-Government services. The researcher analyzed in measurement model and structural model using statistical software. This study analyzed relationships among interaction, information quality, Web systems quality, satisfaction, ease of use, usefulness, and attitude to explain and predict influences of the users acceptance of e-Government services. The results of this study will provide useful information about develop a strategy for usage spread of e-Government services.
This paper presents an exploratory research on the application of the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) to the domain of object orientation to investigate the validity of TAM in the perspective of its causal relationships. In the Management Information Systems(MIS) area, TAM has been applied to computer usage behavior as a specific technology adoption model. This paper also suggests the factors that affect the technology acceptance of object orientation in U.S. organizations through a modified TAM. Two major research questions are addressed. First, this research investigates the effect of these external variables on the dependent variable, the actual usage of object orientation in the viewpoint of knowledge interaction between structured methods and object orientation. Second, is TAM valid for the technology acceptance of object orientation in terms of its causal relationships? This study empirically explores the impact of the external variables on the level of actual usage of object orientation via the mediating variables in TAM. A structured questionnaire is administered to Data Processing Management Association(DPMA) professionals in US. The result of this study reveals one important contradictory finding that is not consistent with expectations based on related theory. TAM does not accommodate the technology acceptance of object orientation perhaps because object orientation is a complex and organization-level adoptive technology or the measures for the mediating constructs in TAM may not be appropriate in industry settings.

Objectives: We assessed the public acceptance of a health information exchange (HIE) and examined factors that influenced the acceptance and associations among constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Methods: We collected data from a survey of 1,000 individuals in Korea, which was administered through a structured questionnaire. We assessed the validity and reliability of the survey instrument with exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha coefficients. We computed descriptive statistics to assess the acceptance and performed regression analyses with a structural equation model to estimate the magnitude and significance of influences among constructs of TAM. Results: Eighty-seven percent of the respondents were willing to use the technology, and the average level of agreement with the need for the technology was 4.16 on a 5-point Likert scale. The perception of ease of use of the technology significantly influenced perceptions of usefulness and attitudes about the need for HIE. Perceptions of usefulness influenced attitude and behavioral intention to use HIE, and attitude influenced intention. Age showed a wide range of influences throughout the model, and experience with offline-based information exchange and health status also showed noteworthy influences. Conclusions: The public acceptance of HIE was high, and influences posited by TAM were mostly confirmed by the study results. The study findings indicated a need for an education and communication strategy tailored by population age, health status, and prior experience with offline-based exchange to gain public buy-in for a successful introduction of the technology.
This paper focused on developing and empirically testing an EAM(Electronic-Store Acceptance Model), By basing upon Davis' TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) and reflecting the characteristics of EC(Electronic Commerce), the EAM was proposed. This EAM could be regarded as a revised and extended TAM in the EC area. The theoretical rationale of this model was as following: 1) Though Davis' TAM was proposed a powerful tool to explain and predict usage of Information Technology, nowadays, TAM variables(perceived usefulness and ease of use) are posited as key drivers of e-commerce acceptance. 2) In the e-commerce and e-business studies, trust has been emerging as a potentially important antecedent of IT adoption. A famous internet book store was chosen to empirically test the EAM. In order to evaluate reliability and validity of instrument, and validate the research model, SEM(Structured equation model) analysis was conducted. The results showed that perceived usefulness and trust significantly influenced e-Store Acceptance but perceived ease of use did not have significant influence on e-Store Acceptance.

This study explores the major factors that are likely to affect the acceptance and resistance of innovative products and services. The TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) has been widely used for understanding consumer acceptance of new technology. This model displays perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as antecedents of intention to adopt and use. However, research has reported a variety of preceding variables for technology acceptance. In addition, considering paradoxes of technology, research regarding both acceptance and resistance in an integrated model can explain consumer perception and behavior in detail. The results of this study states that relative benefits, degree of innovation in technology, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have had positive influence on the intention to adopt but negative impact on that of resistance. However, alterations of usage and perceived risk positively affects resistance, but also have negative effects on the intention to adopt. Finally, intention to adopt has comparatively greater influence than that of resistance on intention to use. Theoretical and managerial implications of the results are also discussed.

The main purpose of this research is to investigate relationships between the significant control factors on acceptance intention to User Experience (UX) sports smart wearable devices by applying Technology Readiness (TR) and Unified Theory of Technology (UTAUT). Research survey targeted on users of golf smart devices in Seoul. A total 534 questionnaires were collected and used for testing hypotheses. Methods to analyze the data included frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling in accordance with the purpose of the study by using SPSS and AMOS. The results are as follows; First, positive TR had a significantly positive effect on social influence, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, perceived enjoyment, performance expectancy. Second, negative TR had a significant negative effect on performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, perceived enjoyment. Third, TR had a no significantly effect on behavioral intention. Fourth, performance expectancy, perceived enjoyment and facilitating conditions had a significantly positive effect on behavioral intention. Fifth, behavioral intention had a significantly positive effect on use behavior. Thus it became crucial to identify the difference in acceptance intention models per each products are as follows. Positive TR of golf-related mobile application users has a positive effect on both technology acceptance belief and acceptance intention, whereas negative TR has no statistically significant effect on technology acceptance belief nor acceptance intention.

With the increased importance of groupware in organizations, groupware acceptance is regarded as an important outcome in the efforts of firms to leverage the potential of this information technology in their business activities and strategies. Despite significant investments in groupware, considerable diversity exists in how well firms have been able to implement groupware and leverage the business value of groupware. This study identifies important factors influencing user acceptance of groupware by extending TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) which includes perceived control, intrinsic motivation, and concentration as well as perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness from original TAM. The proposed model is tested in an organization among 104 employees using previous research measurements. According to the findings from the study, the usage intention of groupware can be explained by intrinsic motivation, perceived control, perceived ease of use, and Perceived usefulness. However, it fails to explain the effect of concentration on the intention.
