  • The purpose of this study is to look into the necessity of strengthening the knowledge base about longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system in secondary educational curriculum. GPS based location service increases the use of longitude and latitude coordinate system. And many developed countries including USA and Japan have already included this contents in secondary education curriculum. But the secondary school Curriculum of Korea does not include the detailed contents regarding longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system theory, and as a result the level of Korean students knowledge on this subject is low. The frequency of appearing of the information related to longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate systems in newspaper articles in Korea has been steadily increasing since after 2000. And a lot of articles appearing in newspapers provide the location information in the form of longitude and latitude coordinates, so the readers would be able to apply that. It was found out that the situation in schools is developed good enough for the use of spatial information system based upon the longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system. The conclusion is that geography education in Korea needs systematical implementation of the knowledge base of longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system.

  • One of the most important concepts in the 7th curriculum of Korea is the student-centered education. Since educational evaluation has significant influence on the whole curriculum, if we realize the importance of the student-center education on the curriculum we should establish the student-centered educational evaluation system. Educational evaluation is defined by the theory of information to permit information users to identify, to measure, to manipulate and to communicate useful educational information concerning an educational curriculum for making decisions. If we accept the above definitions, the demands of information users are significant in the light of conceptual framework of educational evaluation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the conceptual framework of educational evaluation from information users' perspectives and to investigate the qualitative characteristics which satisfy information users' need for making decisions. We also show that students aren't provided sufficient evaluation results information to decide for their study plans by analyzing an evaluation study of the 7th primary curriculum. Finally, this study suggests how to improve an evaluation system for students in mathematics.

  • The objective of this study is to develop an IS curriculum and its action plan for footwear industry based on the Instructional System Design(ISD) that is widely used in curriculum developments. To this end, six steps, including a goal setting, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are employed. Firstly, the explicit goal of IS curriculum development is defined and demands of IS education from the footwear companies are identified with questionnaires and interviews. In the design stage, the IS curriculum map is presented. With this map, the specific IT courses are established, classified by a type of industry, a function, and a level of skills. For the implementations, such particular actions as a selection of textbooks, places, managing trainees, and a training support plan are explained. Finally, the various evaluation methods are presented. The suggested IS curriculum can be applied to IS educations for the footwear companies and other related industries.

For this study, three types of previously developed textbooks for information literacy education were analyzed, and curriculum content structure, and textbook structure of the draft version of the textbook 'Media and Information Life' developed in 2019-2020 were analyzed. The analysis results are as follows. the information literacy education textbook applied the information problem solving process model and contained the contents of print, and digital media and the media literacy necessary for democratic citizens, but it was necessary to add the types of libraries and media in sequence. Second, library, media, information, and reading literacy were major learning elements that made up the contents of the information literacy curriculum. Third, the "media and information life" textbook needed to present subject competencies, generalized knowledge, content system, and achievement standards in accordance with the system of the 2015 revised curriculum. • Social attention to information security field is inspired, and manpower demand forecast of this area is getting high. This study surveyed information security knowledge of practitioners who work in a field of information security such as computer and network system. We analyzed a connection between survey data, information protection job system that was suggested by NICE, IT skills that NCS and KISA classified and security field classification system. Base on data that analyzed, this study suggests a curriculum that trains professional manpower who perform duties in the field of information security. Suggested curriculum can be applied to 2 year college, 3 year college and 4 year college. Suggested curriculum provides courses that students who want to work in a field of information security must learn during the college. Suggested courses are closely connected to a related field and detailed guideline is indicated to each course to educate. Suggested curriculum is required, and it combines a theoretical education that become basis and a practical education so that it is not weighted to learn theory and is not only focusing on learning simple commands. This curriculum is established to educate students countermeasures of hacking and security defend that based on scenario that connected to executive ability. This curriculum helps to achieve certificates related to a field more than paper qualification. Also, we expect this curriculum helps to train convergent information security manpower for next generation.

  • The importance of information education is recognized at home and abroad, and education policies are changing in the direction of expanding informatics education. Therefore, in this study, an elementary school information curriculum content system was developed by forming an expert group consisting of professors at the University of Education and the College of Education working in the Department of Computer Education and elementary and secondary information teachers with experience in curriculum development. Specifically, a content system was developed for the area of elementary school information education with linkage and hierarchy with the secondary information curriculum in the 2022 revised curriculum, core ideas for each area, content elements for each area, and instructional content for each grade level. Through this study, connectivity was secured in information education in elementary and secondary schools, and it is meaningful that the content elements of digital literacy were included in each content area. It is expected that the content system of the elementary school information curriculum proposed in this study will be helpful as a basic data for the development of certified textbooks and independence of information subjects in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate awareness of librarian's job prospects, and to do this a survey was conducted with 502 college students in 14 Departments of Library and Information Science around Korea and 753 librarians in libraries and related agencies. The study results are as follows. First, satisfaction with educational curriculum was higher in students than librarians. Second, both students and librarians regarded workplace based practical training as employment requirements and also evaluated certifications and academic performance as important requirements. Third, both groups asked that information on employment rates be available in a timely manner, and perceived that the librarian's job prospects were not bright. Therefore, in order to improve employment of librarians, it will be necessary to establish a job information system, reorganize the current educational curriculum into a practice-oriented curriculum, and introduce the national curriculum statements (NCS)-based curriculum.
