Over the last decade the research of end-to-end behavior on computer network has grown by orders but it has few researching in hop-by-hop behavior. We think if we know hop-by-hop behavior it can make better understanding in network behavior. This paper represent ICMP time stamp request and time stamp reply as tool of network study for learning in hop-by-hop behavior to estimate link bandwidth and link structure. We describe our idea, experiment tools, experiment environment, result and analysis, and our discussion in our observative.

Compared with unicast, multicast over wireless ad-hoc networks do not support reliability due to their inability to exchange request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) and ACK packets with multiple recipients. Although several media access control (MAC) layer protocols have been proposed to provide reliable multicast, these introduce additional overhead, which degrades system performance. A novel MAC protocol for reliable wireless multicast is proposed in this paper. By adapting orthogonal frequency division multiple access characteristics in CTS and ACK packets, the protocol achieves reliability over wireless multicast with minimized overhead.

CORBA 2.0 규격에 따라 구현돈 인터넷 Java ORB인 iORB는 Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) 객체 호출을 위한 Basic Object Adapter (BOA)를 클라이언트와 서버 객체 사이의 연결 설정과 요청 처리를 분리한 다중 쓰레드 방식으로 제공하고 있다. 본 논문은 다중 쓰레드 방식을 지원하는 iORB의 BOA 설계 및 구현에 관한 것이다.

In this paper, we propose a modified Type-II HARQ system having adaptive power to channel and analyze its performance in terms of throughput and reliability. Its performance is also compared with Typd-I and Type-II HARQ ystems and is verified using computer simulations over AWGN and frequenyc-nonselective, slowly Rayleigh fading channels.

CORBA 환경에서 지속적으로 안정적인 객체 서비스를 제공하기 위한 방법의 하나로 복제 객체 그룹을 사용하는 방법이 있다. 객체 서비스를 이용하기 위해 필요한 객체 그룹과의 통신은 다중 전송 프로토콜을 통하여 이루어진다. 그러나 기존의 ORB는 단일 전송 프로토콜인 TCP/IP를 이용하여 객체간의 통신이 이루어지므로 객체 그룹과의 통신에 있어서는 적합하지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 객체 그룹과의 그룹 통신을 지원하기 위해 ORB를 확장하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 ORB는 클라이언트에게 그룹 통신의 투명성을 제공함으로써 기존의 ORB 응용과 상호 연동되며, 그룹 통신을 원하는 클라이언트도 다중 전송 프로토콜에 독립적으로 구현될 수 있다.

BioPlace의 일정관리 시스템은 특정 연구 분야의 연구자들 사이에 효과적이고 능률적인 일정관리를 지원하기 위한 웹기반 환경이다. 웹을 통한 공동작업의 경우 개인은 물론 그룹의 일정을 보다 효율적이고 체계적으로 수립하고 공지하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구를 충족시키기 위하여 BioPlace의 일정관리 작업에서 발생하는 이벤트의 흐름과 관련 데이터의 분석을 통한 데이터의 효율적인 관리방법을 기술하였다. 일정관리 작업에 사용되는 데이터의 효율적인 관리와 처리를 위한 방법으로 세션과 Request 객체를 이용하였다.

네트워크 환경이 발전하면서 사용자가 원하는 때에 서비스를 받을 수 있는 미디어 스트리밍 서비스에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 미디어 스트리밍 서비스는 특정 시간대 선호되는 미디어들에 대한 서비스가 집중되는 현상을 발생한다. 특정한 미디어에 대한 집중적 요구를 하는 다수의 사용자들을 만족시키기 위해서는 미디어 서버내의 메인 메모리를 효과적으로 사용할 수 있는 버퍼 관리 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 미디어 서버내의 버퍼 성능 향상을 위하여 사용자 선호도를 반영한 정책을 제안하고 평가한다.

In a packet based wireless system, an adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scheme is often employed with the use of channel quality information (CQI). However, the AMC can be operated improperly due to delayed CQI, causing performance degradation. In this paper, we consider the use of predicted CQI for the AMC considering the feedback delay and channel characteristics. We also consider the use of a hybrid automatic repeat request scheme with the proposed AMC for further improvement in high mobility environments.

현재 IMT-2000 시스템에 대한 일련의 국제 표준 스펙이 발표되고 있으며, 이를 개발하는데 각국의 정보통신업체들이 총력을 기울이고 있다. 또한, 기존의 IMT-2000 시스템의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 무선전송 기술로 적응 변조 및 부호화 방법, Hybrid Automatic Repeat request, 빠른 셀 선택 기법, 다중 입력 다중 출력 안테나 처리 등에 대한 연구 및 표준화 작업이 진행 중이다. 또한 사설 또는 공설의 유선 네트워크와 연동하여 사용할 수 있는 Broad-band Wireless Access를 제공하는 표준안 작성 작업이 완성단계에 있으며, 이는 IMT-2000 시스템의 보완물로써 새로운 모빌 플렛폼 또는 새로운 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 기회를 준다.
