  • IMT-2000 appeared in order to satisfy the desires of the uses who wish to supply through wireless most of the services being provided through wire, such as Internet services and multimedia high-speed data information. However, during global roaming, the signal data and the user data get transmitted through the networks of other users. Also, it is judged that with the provision of high speed data communication the amount of data communication necessary for confidentiality protection will increase. It is planned that the recent IMT-2000 Project will begin its commercial service in 2002. From this viewpoint, wireless contents, due to their special characteristics, are greatly exposed to illegal actions by third persons. As a result, it can be said that security and certification issues in the mobile telecommunication environment are indispensable matters. For this purpose, it is intended that in this thesis through an analysis of the existent IMT-2000 certification method, a more safe and efficient authentication method is presented and, at the same time, a security protocol necessary in the provision of wireless contents is designed.

  • This study investigated and compared the tasks peformed by Consumer Agencies in Korea and Japan. It also investigated the variables influencing evaluation scores on consumer tasks. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, Japanese counselors were predominantly older, married females in contrast to the predominance of relatively young, single, male, Korean consumer counselors. In Korea, most consumer tasks were performed by Consumer Agencies in Seoul while internet counseling was popular. In addition, 13 counselors belong to Korean Consumer Agencies while 80 worked in the Korea Consumer Protection Board. In Japan, consumer tasks were peformed by Consumer Centers located broadly across the nation but no internet counseling was provided, while the average number of consumer counselors per Consumer Center was 8. The average number of consumer counseling sessions per day was greater in Korea than in Japan while the average monthly income was higher in Japan than in Korea. Second, evaluation of the tasks performed by Consumer Agencies revealed that the Korean Consumer Agencies scored higher performance than their Japanese counterparts. Third, the degree of job satisfaction significantly influenced evaluation scores in both consumer counseling tasks and provision of consumer information in Korea. In Korea, among the tasks concerning consumer education, job-training education was a significant variable while the number of Korean counselors in Consumer Agencies positively influenced scores on activities concerning consumer movement and alliance with other agencies. However, the degree of job satisfaction among counselors positively and significantly influenced evaluation scores in tasks concerning consumer counseling, provision of consumers'information, and consumer education. On the other hand, the number of counselors in Japanese Consumer Centers influenced the evaluation scores on tasks concerning consumer policy, consumer survey, and consumer campaign.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to determine the differences between the muscle activity of cranio-cervical flexion and extension muscles according to the types of tools used through a short-term intervention of cranio-cervical static stabilization exercises using small tools. METHODS: A total of fifteen male and female adults in their 20s who showed forward head posture in the overall body posture measurement system participated in this study. Each subject performed cranio-cervical static stabilization exercises about flexion and extension while using a sling, a foam roller, a TOGU ball, and without tools separately, and the muscle activity of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, scalenus anterior and splenius capitis was measured. Each value was measured for 10 seconds a total of three times. The maximum voluntary isometric contraction value was computed using the average during the middle four seconds. RESULTS: Cranio-cervical flexion exercises using various tool types, the average activity of the sternocleidomastoid and scalenus anterior muscles was significantly higher when applying the TOGU ball (p<.05). According to the results of implementing cranio-cervical flexion exercise using various tools, the maximum muscle activity of the sternocleidomastoid muscle was significantly higher for the TOGU ball (p<.05). CONCLUSION: Based on these results, the provision of an unstable surface using small tools rather than a stable surface is recommended as an exercise scheme for proprioceptive stimulation in a forward head posture. Particularly, we recommend using the TOGU ball for the provision of an unstable surface to increase the muscle activity of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and scalenus anterior.

  • Main advantages of an analytico-synthetic scheme are its flexibility and its ability to cope with new subjects as they arise. Accordingly the synthetic scheme can keep pace with changes in knowledge more easily than an enumerative scheme because new subjects often merely involve fresh combinations of basic unit parts already listed. The findings of the study are as follows: 1. Each part of the components of a complex subject is called phase in CC and we are able to obtain three levels of phase relations such as intra-facet phase relation, intra-array - phase relation and inter-subject phase relation. 2. Different digits are used in CC to represent different varieties of phase relation in each levels. 3. The mode of phase relation may be taken to indicate the strength of bond between the phase and may form a new main subject. 4. In the rules and grammar of the phase relation the extension of two-phase subject is possible up to any extent theoritically. 5. Phase relation in DDC was introduced in the 18th edition, but there was no provision for the kind and the level of phase relation. 6. Colon(:) of the UDC is used to represent phase relation but there was also no provision for the kind and the level of phase relation.

  • This study is to examine the possibility of applying the Article 35-4 of the Copyright Act and the relevant regulations of the enforcement decree of the same law to the construction and service of digital library. The background and necessity of the revision were understood by examining the related regulations and discussions in previous studies, including Articles 31 and 50 of the Copyright Act. Then, the detailed contents of the provision were analyzed by referring to the laws, enforcement decrees, and ordinance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In addition, through comparison with Articles 31 and 50 of the Copyright Act, the characteristics, significance, limitations, and problems of this provisions were analyzed. Based on this, we proposed four ways to increase the effectiveness of this provision.

  • Cyber incident collected from cyber-threat-intelligence sharing Center is growing rapidly due to expanding malicious code. It is difficult for Incident analysts to extract and classify similar features due to Cyber Attacks. To solve these problems the existing Similarity Analysis Method is based on single or multiple cyber observable of similar incidents from Cyber Attacks data mining. This method reduce the workload for the analysis but still has a problem with enhancing the unreality caused by the provision of improper and ambiguous information. We propose a incident analysis model performed similarity analysis on the hierarchically classified cyber observable based on cyber incident that can enhance both availability by the provision of proper information. Appling specific cyber incident analysis model, we will develop a system which will actually perform and verify our suggested model.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how the online brand community characteristics affect customer behavior according to self-construal level and gender difference. The characteristics of online community are divided into interaction, objectivity, information provision, and activity reward. First, interactivity and activity compensation among the characteristics of online community have a positive effect on brand community commitment. On the other hand, the effect of purpose and information provision is insufficient. Second, the greater the commitment to the brand community, the higher the WOM effect is. Finally, this study shows that customers with dependent self-construal tendencies have more brand community support than customers with independent self-construal tendencies, and females show more brand community support than males. This study suggests an efficient marketing approach to companies through a brand community commitment by understanding the intrinsic motivation of consumers' self-construal level.

  • This Paper assesses the relative efficiency of public library services by examining the relationship between library inputs and library outputs in library systems. Using Data Envelopment Analysis, this study derives efficiency scores in the provision of library services for 21 public libraries in Seoul. The data are survey observations for 2002. We employ total holdings, total serials, and total acquisitions as inputs, and total circulations and reader visits as outputs. The result shows that the subject libraries operate at just $71\%$ efficiency, i.e., inputs could be reduced by one-three without sacrificing output if all libraries were as efficient as the benchmark 4 identified by DEA. Too many total collections are the main source of inefficiency.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify nursing needs for hospice patients and their families in order to establish a foundation for appropriate Korean hospice care. To achieve the purpose of this study, 1 interviewed 50 patients who were going to die within 3 or 6 months and 42 family members of these patients who were registered in Pusan National University Hospital Hospice Program. The interview was done in the patient's room using semi-dialog style questionnaire. Data collection was done from March 1, 1999 to September 30. 1999. The important results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Nursing needs that patients and their families have experienced were classified into six nursing domains; physical, emotional, economic, educational, spiritual and postmortal care. 2. Nursing needs of hospice patients are; pain control(80%), physical comfort(72%), consideration from medical personnel(68%), provision of information(64%), best treatment(60%), help of volunteers(36%), and continuous hospital treatment(32%). 3. Nursing needs of the families are; pain-control in Patients(97.6%), best treatment(97.6%), physical comfort of patients(95.2%), continuous hospital treatment(92.8%), provision of information(80.9%), consideration from medical personnel(76.1%), expectation of recovery(66.6%), emotional support of family(61.9%), and physical comfort of family(40.4%). It is concluded that there is a real difference between the nursing needs of patients and the nursing needs of their families. Therefore we must examine and intervene for the demands of patients and their families using a holistic approach in order to meet their hospice needs.

  • Contracting out became popular in the public library sector since the early of 2000s. It is expected to lower cost of service provision, improve the quality of service provision, better timeliness of service through the discipline of the market and open competition. In practice the expectation was questionable. The numerous failures indicate either poor contract specification or unsuitability of the chosen contractor. The study analyzed 3 case studies of local governments where the entire entity of the public libraries service were decided contracting out and developed 5 criteria and 18 specific evaluation items as alternative evaluation structure. This evaluation model is expected to help to choose a suitable contractor in pubic library management.
