As buildings become more and more complicated, the importance of developing and managing facility management information is increasing. In a building fire situation, various information is generated and needed to be quickly shared among participants. However, the current fire response system fails to monitor the relevant information in a real time basis. This study aims to develop a system prototype for fire protection management which can quickly and accurately manage and effectively deliver the pertinent information to the target participants. The research contributes to the efficiency of fire protection endeavors by interpreting both dynamic and static fire information in an appropriate manner.

Many failures are due to incorrectly programmed transactions and data entry errors. System failure causes the loss or corruption of the contents of volatile storage. Although global processing protects data values to detect direct or indirect information effluence, security environments are very important in the recovery management of heterogeneous systems. Although transaction can't control system fault, the restart for the system can cause information effluence by low bandwith. From various faults, it is not easy to maintain the consistency and security of data. This paper proposes recovery management protocols to assure global multilevel secure one-copy quasi-serializability in security environments of heterogeneous systems with replicated data and proves its correctness. The proposed secure protocols guarantee the reliability and security of system when the system fault is happened.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the performance of knowledge management systems. To extend DeLone & MeLean's model, we included the user specialization in the information systems success model. The questionnaires are collected from 109 knowledge management system users. The major findings are summarized as followed. First, system characteristics such as ease of use, response time, and knowledge management process support affect the knowledge management systems usage. Second, knowledge characteristics such as relevancy, completeness, reliability, importance, and currency also affect the knowledge management systems usage. Third, the end-users are satisfied with the knowledge management systems because it is easy to use and relevant.

A web-based program life-cycle management(PLM) system is introduced to implement the system engineering processes and to provide the development traceability online. This information system aims for the realization of essential system engineering management techniques currently applied to the space launch system development program including management of configuration and data based on the work breakdown structure(WBS), WBS, bill of materials and mass properties. The system enhances communication and gives access to the development data with relevant information such as data-to-data relation and approval status/history through the web, and preserve all of the development data throughout the program life-cycle. Further improvement of the system is planned to implement the program management processes and co provide integrated information useful for the programmatic decision making.

In Korea, the railway history has more than 100 years and the KTX(Korean Express Railway) was launched on April 1, 2004. Nevertheless, the safety management of the railway has not been emphasized. Thus this paper proposed the novel frame of the railway safety management system which can secure the railway safety and administer the railway accidents via Management Systems from domestic to international. Secondly, we developed the prototype Management System for the railway accident based on GIS(Geographic Information System) by introducing the concept of "location". This Management System has two parts: space and attribute. Also it provides the map for emergency actions.

This paper considers the design and management of security MIB for EDI system. EDI system has to establish various securety wervices and mechanisms to protect against security threats. Hence, the EDIsystem requires appropriate security management to monitor and control the security obhects for its security services and mechanisms. In this paper, I identify security objects for management of secueity services defined in the EDIsystem, and propose the design of a security MIB and describe the use of SNMPnetwork management protocol in its management.

This paper describes an architecture information management system using XML. The purpose of the system is to manage the information stored in standard format, XML, that has many valuable properties. The proposed architecture information consists of project information, drawing information, and material information. Each information is expressed using XML and for each information, XML schema is presented in this paper. In this system, detail information of materials that exists on the supplier's homepage can be displayed when the user of the system wants to check the detail information. Also, drawings stored in STEP data can be browsed in this system. The reports of each information are prepared using XSL. The proposed system shows that XML can be used for a format to store architecture information and various functions can be implemented based on XML related standards.

The borderless global economy has accentuated the importance of knowledge as the most critical source of competitive advantage. Thus, knowledge management has become a strategic mandate for most world-class organizations. A key enabler for implementing an effective knowledge management system is advanced information technology. Strategies for developing an enterprise-wide knowledge management system Infrastructure with embedded information technology are discussed. In particular, this paper discusses the concept of a knowledge management life cycle- -knowledge capture, knowledge development, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization, and how applications of new information technology support each step of the knowledge management practices within and between organizations is suggested.
