  • This paper proposes an adaptive pricing system with scheduling to balance the demand for contents and to realize an effective use of resources in contents delivery networks. In the proposed adaptive pricing system, the table of the service levels and prices (tariff) is shown to each user at the start of service and each user chooses one of the service classes. These prices are decided adaptively reflecting the congestion state of the networks. Then, by the proposed scheduling algorithm, these requests are scheduled so as to keep the service level agreements completely.

  • There is a growing trend in developing system for distributed mobile system that supports services - job flow management, video conference, replicated data management and resource allocation. Supporting these services, applications have to use causally ordered message delivery. Previous proposals that provide causally ordered message delivery have problems such as communication overhead, message delaying, scalability, computing overload of mobile host. In this paper, we proposed efficient protocol for causally ordered message delivery using the methods that MSS maintains dependency information matrix between MSS and MH, Piggybacking dependency information about each immediate predecessor message. Proposed algorithm, when compared with previous proposals, provides a low message overhead, and low probability of unnecessary inhibition in delivering messages. Also, it consider resource restriction of MH and low bandwidth of wireless communication by computing most of algorithm at MSS, and reduce processing delay by executing causally ordered message delivery a unit of MH.

  • In this paper, we suggest a method of analysis for daily food delivery & consumption trends through big data of the post-Covid-19 era. Through analysis of big data and the database system, four analyzed factors, excluding weather, was proved to have significant correlation with delivery sales for 'Baedarui Minjok' of a catering delivery application. The research found that KBS, MBC and SBS Media showed remarkable results in food delivery & consumption sales soaring up to about 60 percent increase on the day after the Covid-19 related new article was issued. In addition, it proved that mobile media and web surfing were the main factors in increasing sales of food delivery & consumption applications, suggesting that viral marketing and emotional analysis by crawling data from SNS used by Millennials might be an important factor in sales growth. It can contribute the companies in the economic recession era to survive by providing the method for analyzing the big data and increasing their sales.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) is utilizing CAD technology in a way that ultimately ties all the components of a building together as objects imbedded with information, and has been changing the way we design and build over the last 20-30 years. In Polytechnic Institute of NYU, there are four BIM courses offered which provide students with different levels of knowledge regarding BIM Technique, BIM Standards, BIM Guideline and Roadmap for Private and Public Implementation, BIM Application in Real Projects, the Cooperation of BIM and IPD for Public Works in New York City. With advanced BIM technology, BIM's integration into the construction process and its incorporation into project delivery systems, especially Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) are the bridges between technology, industry and research. This paper presents an integrated BIM curriculum with three modules: 1) BIM functions and Bid Preparation; 2) Time-Cost Trade-off Analysis; and 3) Problems Solving in BIM/IPD Environment. In this project-based curriculum developed by the common efforts of academia, public agency and industry, the objectives are: (1) to provide the information and skills needed to successfully implement BIM into the construction phase; (2) to identify BIM's role in construction and the project delivery system; (3) to develop a module in conjunction with leading BIM into project delivery system, particularly coordination between BIM and IPD; (4) to connect technology and research into industry. The course assessment was conducted and the results indicate that it is a successful reform in construction management education.

  • For contents delivery systems, the service is considered in which the utility depends on each priority class. This paper deals with the multiple priority class of the contents delivery system from the viewpoint of the utility. The willingness to pay (WTP) is introduced as a measure of utility, and the optimum condition is analyzed to maximize the total user's utility. For the system with multiple priority classes, the optimum condition is given in terms of the traffic load, wating time for service for each priority class. Systems with the priority classes, 1, 2 and 3 are analyzed, and the effect of the number of priority classes is examined.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the document delivery service(DDS) of the academic libraries and suggest its improvement model in Korea. DDS means providing copies of information requests in any format and from any source. And DDS is gaining in importance as libraries turn to 'just-in-time' access rather than 'just-in-case' collection to meet user information needs. By good fortune, rising journal subscription prices, declining financial resources, canceling some of journal subscriptions, electronic transmission technologies, and the rise of commercial document delivery services have allowed libraries to begin to deliver articles to users in a much more rapid and acceptable time frame. Therefore, the library paradigm for the 2000s must be the creation of new document delivery structures which capitalize on the access tolls and structures created by librarians during the past generations. First of all, library-based document service requires a close review of existing library-to-library delivery mechanisms, application of technology to transfer of facsimiles of materials and facilitated use of existing fee-based document sources. The ideal document delivery system would feature a transparent, seamless electronic service incorporating searching and browsing identification and marking of desired items, and transmission and fulfillment of requests. And requested items would be supplied from library collection, commercial suppliers, or other sources. But the future of DDS will succeed when physical resources, policies, personnel, and practices are organized to provide timely information delivery to users.

  • Recently, food delivery apps are seeing rapid growth into a market worth 1 trillion won under a simple but unique business model of connecting nearby restaurants with consumers via smartphone. Though basic similarities with social commerce exists in aspects such as mail-order sales intermediaries, startups, types of services and market competition structure, food delivery apps resemble social commerce in many ways in that they use excessive marketing to secure market dominance, causing a spike in consumer complaints. If the excessive marketing and increase in customer complaints are not rectified, the food delivery app could also see rapid decline as it gradually grows distant from consumers, just like social commerce. Accordingly, this study will identify the factors consumers recognize as important for continuous use vis-a-vis social commerce and food delivery apps to perform an empirical analysis on what areas need improvement. After deriving the four upper factors of product, information system and service along with eight sub-factors by referring to existing literature, the areas with opportunity for improvement were derived through satisfaction level and relative importance evaluation. The results of this study present a strategic direction for maintaining customers of social commerce and food delivery apps.

  • Before the delivery platform was established, when consumers ordered by phone to the store, a rider hired by the store directly delivered it or delivered it through a delivery agency. However, as the food service culture develops, delivery platforms grow and more people seek convenience, making it difficult to see orders without delivery platforms now. When ordering using the delivery platform in this way, there is a shortage of riders and a negative effect of increasing delivery costs for supply. Therefore, we propose a joint delivery chat app to solve the problems of the current delivery system and reduce delivery costs.

  • The unit of the digital content delivery is the web object. For the improvement of the content delivery based on the web, it id required analysis of reference characteristics of the web object. In this study, we analyze reference characteristics of the web object and evaluate the performance. Using these analysis results, we propose the digital content delivery system which is improved delivery efficiency. The goal of the proposed system are the improvement of the processing time through enhancement of the caching efficiency with reflect reference characteristics of the web object. And the experiment result, we verify the performance enhancement.

  • In this paper, we study the multi-objectives vehicle and drone routing problem with time windows, MOVDRPTW for short, which is defined in an urban delivery network. We consider the dual modal delivery system consisting of drones and vehicles. Drones are used as a complement to the vehicle and operate in a point to point manner between the depot and the customer. Customers make various requests. They prefer to receive delivery services within the predetermined time range and some customers require fast delivery. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effectiveness of the delivery strategy of using drones and vehicles together with a multi-objective measures. As experiment datasets, we use the instances generated based on actual courier delivery data. We propose a hybrid multi-objective evolutionary algorithm for solving MOVDRPTW. Our results confirm that the vehicle-drone mixed strategy has 30% cost advantage over vehicle only strategy.
