A note on the geometric structure of the t-distribution

  • The Fisher information matrix plays a significant role in statistical inference in connection with estimation and properties of variance of estimators. In this paper, the parameter space of the t-distribution using its Fisher's matrix is de ned. The ${\alpha}$-scalar curvatures to parameter space are calculated.

  • In this paper, we propose the new FEC(Forward Error Correction) code method, so called RCNC(Random Connection Node Convolutional) code with security property. Recently, many wireless communication systems, which can prouide integrated semices of various media types and hil rales, are required to haue the ability of secreting information and error correclion. This code system is a kind qf conuolulional code, but it Ius various code formats as each node is connected differently. And systems hy using RCNC codes haue all. ability of error correction as well as information protection. We describe the principle of operating RCNC codes, including operation examples. In this paper, we also show the peiformance of BER(Bit Error Rate) and verify authority of network system with computer simulation.

  • From the view point of VLSI implementation, a new teaming algorithm suited for network with quantized connection weights is desired. This paper presents a new teaming algorithm for the DBM(deterministic Boltzmann machine) network with quantized connection weight. The performance of proposed algorithm is tested with the 2-input XOR problem and the 3-input parity problem through computer simulations. The simulation results show that our algorithm is efficient for quantized connection neural networks.

Segmentation of region strings using connection-characteristic function (연결특성함수를 이용한 문서화상에서의 영역 분리와 문자열 추출)

  • This paper describes a method for region segmentation and string extractionin documents which are mixed with text, graphic and picture images by the use of the structural characteristic of connceted components. In segmentation of non-text regionas, with connection-characteristic functions which are made by structural characteristic of connected components, segmentation process is progressed. In the string extraction, first we organize basic-unit-region of which vertical and horizontal length are 1/4 of average length of connection components. Second, by merging the basic-unit-regions one other that have smaller values than a given connection intensity threshold. Third, by linking the word blocks with similar block anagles, initial strings are cresed. Finally the whold strings are generated by merging remaining word blocks whose angles are not decided, if their height and prosition are similar to the initial strings. This method can extract strings that are neither horizontal nor of various character sizes. Through computer exteriments with different style documents, we have shown that the feasibility of our method successes.

Predictive Connection Admission Control for Broadband ATM Satellite Systems

  • In this paper, we propose a predictive(transient) connection admission control(CAC) scheme for satellite systems that supports on-board packet switching of multimedia traffic with predefined quality of service(QoS) requirements. The CAC scheme incorporates the unique characteristics of satellite systems, e.g. large propagation delays, no onboard buffer, and low computational requirement. The CAC scheme requires the estimation of the On-Off traffic characteristics ($\lambda$, $\mu$) of the traffic sources. These estimated values are used to predict the transient cell loss ratio at each downlink. In case the QoS requirements are not met the proposed CAC scheme rejects the new connection. The numerical results obtained suggest that the proposed scheme is an excellent candidate for real time burst and cell level connection prediction and control in broadband on-board satellite networks.

  • In this paper, we present formal three methodologies for intranet connection to remote and mobile user. The most important issue is information communication security in intranet solution. The structure of this methodology is composed of several remote and mobile connection methods. By three methodologies and experimental building network, we suggest direction for valid solution of intranet connection.

  • 어플리케이션의 데이터베이스 시스템 사용이 증가하면서, 사용자 급증에 따른 데이터베이스 시스템에 동시접속 하는 커넥션 처리 방법에 있어 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 이러한 데이터베이스의 커넥션을 효과적으로 처리하기 위해 데이터베이스 커넥션 풀이 도입되었으나, 동시접속이 증가하는 형태에 따른 커넥션 처리는 미비한 실정이다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 커넥션 아키텍처를 개선하여 주 커넥션 풀과 보조 커넥션 풀, 두 커넥션 풀의 연결을 할당하기 위한 커넥션 브로커 관계에 있어 새로운 아키텍처를 정의하였고, 실험을 통하여 기존 데이터베이스 커넥션 풀 구조와 비교해서 100% 가량 성능이 향상된 결과를 제시하였다.

  • The thinning algorithms using 8-neighbors connection value can extract the skeleton of a character almost similar to the original pattern by using the connection value representing connectivity of each pixel. This paper considers the erosion phenomenon which appears in the thinning algorithm using 8-neighbors connection value without skeleton disappearance phenomenon. The experimental results show that the proposed thinning algorithm can be applied to the application of both a straight line segment and a curved line segment.

  • 웹 어플리케이션 개발 시 데이터베이스 시스템의 사용이 증가함에 따라 데이터베이스 시스템에 접속하는 커넥션 리소스 관리에 대한 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 논문은 웹 어플리케이션 구축 시 사용하는 데이터베이스 접속 풀(Database connection Pool)의 성능을 평가하고 진단하는 도구를 제안한다. 본 도구는 성능 및 진단을 통하여 웹 어플리케이션에 가장 적합한 최적화된 DB 커넥션 풀을 최적화하는 방법을 제시한다. 아울러 제안된 도구를 사용한 효과적인 데이터베이스 접속 풀(Database Connection Pool)의 관리 결과에 대하여 기술한다.

  • 인터넷 사용자의 급증에 따라, 인터넷을 통한 각종 침해사고 역시 크게 증가되고 있다 이러한 각종 침해사고로부터의 대응 방법으로 해킹을 시도하는 해커의 실제 위치를 실시간으로 추적하는 침입자 역추적 기술에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 TCP Connection Traceback 기술에서 사용되는 기법 중에 하나인 패킷 워터마킹 역추적 기법에서 TCP Hijacking 해킹기술을 이용하여 Reply 패킷의 Connection 유지 어려움을 해결하는 방법을 제시한다.
