  • This study is intended to provide navigator with specific information necessary to assist the avoidance of collision and the operation of ships to evaluate the maneuverability of dead weight tonnage 8,000 tons Oil/Chemical tanker. The actual maneuvering characteristics of ship can be adequately judged from the results of typical ship trials. Author carried out sea trials based full scale for turning test in ballast condition and full load condition, semi balanced rudder and flap rudder. The turning circle maneuvering were performed on the starboard and port sides with $35^{\circ}$ rudder angle at the normal continuous rating. The results from tests could be compared directly with the standards of maneuverability of IMO and consequently the maneuvering qualities of the ship is full satisfied with its.

  • Researches on the emissions of greenhouse gases in the construction industry, which accounts for 40% of raw materials, 30% of energy consumption, and 30% of $CO_2$ emissions in the entire industry, are mainly focused on studies of LCA. However, it is assessed that $CO_2$ emissions are higher in construction sequence than in operation sequence. Also, it is considered that construction machinery using fossil fuel is a main factor causing environmental load in construction sequence. Therefore, this study analyzes the workload and engine RPM characteristics of the excavator which is the second largest number of registered construction machinery in Korea and the highest utilization rate in actual construction site. The excavator is divided into non-load states and load states where power is transmitted to the excavator. The exhaust gas is analyzed by a direct measurement method using PEMS equipment. $CO_2$ emissions are estimated by analyzing the relationship between RPM and exhaust emission characteristics according to the actual driving conditions. Additionally, we analyze the difference between $CO_2$ emissions of construction machine calculated by this study and $CO_2$ emissions calculated by using carbon emission coefficient.

  • The present study is concept research on the operation cost management of shipping firms, especially considering technology for economical ship operation of existing ships in units of voyage. The factors that influence economical ship operation management were identified by analyzing the current status of the shipping industry, the development of economical ship operation technologies, technological requirements, and the cost factors of ship operation. Economical operation of existing ships, especially, the economical operation of the units of each voyage, may minimize fuel cost and port charges. This requires low-load streaming cruise control, ballast control, optimal trim, optimal routing, terminal work efficiency improvement, and ship energy management. Optimal routing and terminal work efficiency improvement manage the time saved. To determine the low-load streaming, cruise control, ballast control, optimal trim and ship energy management are meeting the recommendations.

  • The studies on semiconductor industrial accident in korea have been focused on the frequencies of each type of safety management employee, characteristics, cause and unsafe conditions, acts and so on. Those attributes of semiconductor industrial accidents were usually analyzed independently, so that it was hard to provides a wel-developed process and systematic guidelines for efficient safety management. Therefore, there were a few studies based on comprehensive survey in terms of the shape type of safe management. The questionnaire survey carried out for the 284 workers who were responsible for safety management in center with cooperation companies in semiconductor industry factor analysis showed that there were three factors of safety management. First, investment and operation and management for accident prevention, Second, unsafe act and condition, safety management Third, general human error and behavior. The industries of respondents were correlative with three groups. Three groups showed statistically significant differences on the number of cases. Actually, the group with the larger investment and the more unsafe cause, human error of accidents prevention had a smaller causes of accident cases.

To construct this kind of logistics industrial complex, it needs logistics system through proper policy and freight transportation co-operation. Especially, efficient management through logistics hierarchy construction in industrial complex is very important for low cost and eco-friendly point of view. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze logistics system and suggest operation model to present logistics complex construction base data.

  • Because paper industry spends lots amount of water, the recycling of water is very important in economical as well as environmental aspects. In order to optimize the process water recycling system, the efficiency of unit operation for water circulation, such as save-all system, CDS and settling tank, plays an important role in. In this study, the sedimentation efficiency of process water was evaluated by SS measurement with the different amounts of flocculent addition. 3 different kinds of process water were collected from fine paper mill, and applied in laboratory sedimentation equipment for the measurement of settling efficiency of SS materials. The addition amounts of alum and PAC were resulted in optimum efficiency of sediments in the condition of 100 ppm of alum and 500 ppm of PAC respectively. In the comparison of sedimentation efficiency between alum and PAC, alum showed more economical and efficient results. The SS of spill water and the particle size of suspended materials treated by alum flocculents were below 50 ppm and about 1 $\mu$m. It would be considered that the spill water can be substituted to superclear water grade.

  • The purpose of radiological Dispersal Device(RDD) is to kill people by explosives and to cause radiation exposure by dispersing radioactive materials. And It is a form of explosive that combines radioactive materials such as Co-60 and Ir-192 with improvised explosives. In this study, we tested and evaluated whether it was possible to read the internal structure of an explosive using X-rays in a radioactive explosive situation. The improvised explosive device was manufactured using 2 lb of model TNT explosives, one practice detonator, one 9V battery, and a timer switch in a leather briefcase measuring 41×35×10 cm3. The radioactive material used was the Co-60 source used in the low-level gamma ray irradiation device operated at the Advanced Radiation Research Institute of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. The radiation dose used was gamma ray energy of 1.17 MeV and 1.33 MeV from a Co-60 source of 2208 Ci. The dose rates are divided into 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 Gy/h, and the exposure time was divided into 1, 3, 5, and 10 minutes. Co-60 source was mixed with the manufactured explosive and X-ray image reading was performed. As a result of the experiment, the X-ray image appeared black in all conditions divided by dose rate and time, and it was impossible to confirm the internal structure of the explosive. This is because γ-rays emitted from radioactive explosives have higher energy and stronger penetrating power than X-rays, so it is believed that imaging using X-rays is limited By blackening the film. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for research and development of X-ray imaging that can read the internal structure of explosives in radioactive explosive situations.

A survey on the effect of evacuation guidance in case of ship blackout condition evacuation (선내 정전 시 피난유도기구가 피난에 미치는 영향에 관한 설문조사)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate consciousness for the effect of evacuation guidance in case of ship blackout condition evacuation. As a research result, 74.3% of respondents answered that evacuation guidance is strongly helpful in the event of ship blackout condition.
