Entrepreneurship development has increasingly become a global solution to address the problem of rising unemployment. Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) have become important tools in improving the economic performance and social well-being of nations. When universities and industry work together to push the boundaries of knowledge, they become a powerful engine for innovation and economic growth. This paper is based on focus group interviews and discussions conducted with key players involved in the HIT-Sandown-UNDP Business Incubation Programme in Harare Zimbabwe. The business incubation project sought to support young Zimbabweans to transform their technical prototypes into commercially and socially viable ventures. As a result, a total of 10 prototypes were refined and investor ready business plans were developed for capital sourcing purposes. It was only through the coming together of the partners that real transformation of the lives of the participants was achieved through learning valuable business skills, coaching and mentoring. University-industry partnerships are a useful vehicle of setting up sustainable business incubation centres.
Industrial safety is one of the crucial agenda for Government as well as Manufacturing Industry. To cope with the needs, a great deal of policies and technical implementation have been proposed and implemented. With a great increasing attention on the Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory, industrial safety has received as a crucial agenda by the manufacturing industry in particular. Up until now, almost all of them have been made from the environmental aspects, rather than operator or workers. In this paper, we present our research results how to increase the workers' safety via smart factory technology, such as IoT and CPS. Our approach has been to see the problem from SE perspectives, to draw the real issues from the various stakeholders, and define how to solve the problem based on the emerging technologies. The developed systems can give conceptual framework for the 'smart' industrial safety system by providing solution architecture for how to monitor the location of workers, and moving equipments, and generate solutions how to avoid safety problems between them if detected.

Indonesia is well-known as biggest producer of seaweed especially for Eucheuma and Gracilaria and also has huge potential resources and capability to develop seaweed cultivation and product. There are several provinces which have potential resources and have been contributing on seaweed production. The next challenge about seaweed production is using integrated system on brackishwater and marine aquaculture. Furthermore, about 2,000,000 ton of potential seaweed production is not explored yet. This article also tries to figure out some related aspects which are technical, economical and forecasting aspect. There is a disease which named "ice-ice" is one of the main problem and giving a new challenge in developing of problem solving for seaweed cultivation method. Economical parameters are also main important key to find out the feasibility of seaweed cultivation industry. In addition, the seaweed cultivation and production in Indonesia also have potential performance on biofuel resources as a part for solving the world problem on energy demand.

Construction accidents are major problem in Turkish Construction industry and especially fatally rates are very high. Current legislative system on occupational safety in Turkey enforces employers to implement safety measures as well as safety management systems. However level of consciousness in the industry is unsatisfactory and safety are perceived as extra cost and unnecessary expenditure. Moreover, especially in small residential building constructions which have a big share in the industry and unfortunately safety measures to mitigate or abate construction risks do not exist. The study focuses on small residential building construction sites and in the scope of this study, thirty building projects are examined. For each building project, project cost including labour and material costs, service and consultancy costs for mechanical, electrical systems as well as architectural and structural services, costs for supervision and finally general expenditures for construction site facilities were calculated. On the other hand, occupational safety costs for personal protective equipment, collective protective measures, consultancy and training were determined. Work breakdown structures were established and for each work item firstly occupational risks were evaluated and furthermore according to risk scores safety measures to be implemented were defined and related costs were calculated. The study gave results for total safety cost on average, in terms of percentage of total project cost (3.73% of total project cost), safety cost per man-hour (0.40 USD) and safety cost in terms of unit construction area (11.60 USD per square meter). Since safety management is a part of whole project management process, study gives suggestions and techniques to calculate safety costs and implement safety measures as a part of project management service for professionals. Authors believe that suggested approach may easily developed by the usage of more data to establish a model for estimation not only for building construction sites but also for all construction projects.
The lack of industrial manpower that Korean companies have been suffering in 21st century is largely responsible for the low-fertility phenomenon. This research suggests an alternative solution with a program for fostering foreign laborers with technical skills in casting industry. Industrial manpower growth is feasible through accepting migrants who have had official education on the fundamental industrial technologies provided by Korean government. These technically trained migrants who can keep economical self-perpetuating ability are can help to effectively address the problem of the declining working-age population and the decreasing potential growth rate in Korea.
Linerboards and corrugating mediums are being produced using recycled old corrugated containers (OCC) as major raw materials. The utilization rate of recycled fibers is expected to increase further in the future to reduce raw material cost. Use of recycled fibers as raw materials for linerboard, however, causes many problems for papermakers. As the utilization rate of recycled fiber and number of recycling of fibers increases, quality and process problems including strength reduction and deterioration of machine runnability will increase. To overcome the problem of strength reduction associated with the use of recycled fibrous materials for producing quality linerboards, diverse extensive research efforts and new technological approaches have been taken. In this study, disintegration characteristics of aee was evaluated by determining the unslushed contents. The amount of unslushed content of KOCC was lower than AOCC. But contaminants content of KOCC was higher than AOCC. As the consistency in disintegration increased, the amount of unslushed fiber content decreased.
It is well known that the use of PCC as a filler for printing paper making brought about the serious deterioration of strength properties of paper, although PCC could be helpful to reduce the energy consumption. The use of modified PCC with NCC was tried to solve and/or reduce the strength deterioration problem. NCC was prepared from SwBKP by the acid hydrolysis. There was no significant changes in chemical properties and crystalline structure. However the cyrstallinity of NCC was higher than those of SwBKP. The different dosage of NCC was applied to modify the properties of PCC. 0.1% of NCC dosage was enough to improve ash retention and paper properties. The use of modified PCC with NCC as a filler improved ash retention, bulk, opacity and formation without the serious deterioration of strength properties. Thus the use of modified PCC with NCC might be helpful for not only reduction of energy consumption but also increase of filler dosage without the significant sacrifice of strength properties by the optimization of retention system.
The base paper of corrugated board is mainly produced from Korean old corrugated container (KOCC), and thus the recycling rate of KOCC is very high. However, there is a problem that the pulp quality is very low while the recycling rate of OCC is high. The fines content in KOCC, the main source of the corrugated board, amounts to nearly the half of the total stock, and its formation increases as recycling process repeats due to the hornification of fiber. There have been attempts to improve the drainage property of OCC by increasing the headbox concentration of the paper machine or by applying drainage-promoting polymer additives. However, these conventional methods have problems of weakened paper strength and lowered converting fitness caused by paper formation hindrance. The strength of linerboard could not be increased in case KOCC is used, because hornified OCC pulp can-not be sufficiently refined due to the lowered drainage property caused by fines formation. We studied about a new technique consisting of froth-flotation for fractionating pulp stock into a long fiber portion and fines fraction. This study will be developed in order to enhance the drainage and strength properties of a recycled OCC pulp by selective treatment of flocculant on fractionated OCC Fines.
Increase in the utilization rate of recycled paper and closing level of papermaking system increased the problem associated with stickies that include decrease in process runnability and product quality. It is required to establish a process for removing the micro stickies to solve the problems associated with stickies. In this study, the application of flotation process as a method to remove micro stickies was examined. Model micro stickies (MMS) were prepared using microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA), and the influence of three nonionic surfactants on the removal efficiency of MMS from flotation process was examined. Also the effect of surfactants on the deposition of micro stickies that remaining in the papermaking wet end onto wire was examined. Removal efficiency of MMS by flotation was increased when the proportion of nonionic surfactant with propylene oxide (PO) type hydrophilic tail was increased and stock pH was 7. It was suggested that this nonionic surfactant minimized the increase of surface energy of hydrophobic MMS. The MMS with high hydrophobicity remaining in the papermaking system, however, would cause more serious deposition problems on papermaking wet end. Therefore, it is of great importance to increase the removal efficiency of MMS in flotation process for the prevention of papermaking system contamination caused by stickies deposition.
Printed mottle of coated paper is one of the most common but the most difficult problem in offset printing. Printed mottle is caused by an uneven penetration of Ink into the paper, binder migration, etc. For a high quality printing, development of new paper coating technologies to prevent print mottle is required. So for, the study of solving printed mottle is coated paper absorption controlled by base paper sizing and coating layer binder migration control. As a results, printed mottle has improved in coated paper. But printing is worked by interaction of printing ink, coated paper and printing pressure, then we need to understand of interaction printing work and coated paper. This research focused on a way of improving printed mottle by investigating various printing conditions such as ink dispersion, nip condition and amount of ink transfer using IGT printability tester.
