The Impact of Leadership Capability, Job Stress and Work-Life Balance on Job Satisfaction in Vietnamese Logistics Industry: An Analysis Based on the Second-Order Constructs

  • Logistics industry is being an important industry in Vietnam with the contribution from 8-10% of GDP recently. This industry employs about 15 millions people. Increasing the employees' job satisfaction is become one of the most concerns of managers in logistics companies to strengthen the employee engagement and improve their business performance. The aim of this study is to investigate how employees' perceptions of job satisfaction are influenced by factors such as job stress, leadership capability, work-life balance, and demographics. 426 workers in the logistics sector in Vietnam were surveyed online. The acquired data was analyzed using a structural equation model. In total 16 hypotheses were established, 13 of which were deemed to be significant. The results demonstrate how the literature-informed second-order constructs can potentially explain the overall job stress, leadership capability, and work-life balance of employees in the Vietnamese logistics industry. These variables account for 54.8% of job satisfaction. This study makes a theoretical contribution to the extant literature by showing how researching second-order constructs can improve the theory's capacity to predict employees' job satisfaction. The paper concludes with a set of recommendations for the management of logistics firms in Vietnam.

창의적 리더십, 자아효능감이 학교적응력에 미치는 영향 : 일 간호대학을 중심으로 (Influence of Creative Leadership and Self-Efficacy on College Adaptability : Focused on a Nursing College)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 창의적 리더십과 자아효능감이 간호대학생들의 학교적응력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 연구를 위해 G시의 간호대학 학생들 380명을 대상으로 창의적 리더십 검사, 자아효능감 검사, 학교적응력 검사가 진행되었으며 SPSS24.0 프로그램을 통해 상관분석과 다중회귀분석이 실시되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 학교적응력은 자아효능감, 그리고 창의적 리더십의 하위변인인 개인적 리더십, 사회적 리더십, 문제해결적 리더십에서 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 둘째, 상관관계에서 유의한 차이를 나타낸 변인들을 중심으로 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 학교적응력에 주는 변인은 개인적 리더십, 사회적 리더십, 그리고 자아효능감 순으로 나타났으며 41.1%의 설명력을 나타내었다.

IT기업 경영자의 변혁적 리더십이 임파워먼트, 자기효능감, 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Impact of CEO's transformational leadership on empowerment, self-efficacy and job satisfaction in IT company)

  • Recently the small and medium sized companies are more difficult to find people than large companies. So it is natural that having a great interest in leadership and its effects in organizations. This study examines how transformational leaders influence on empowerment, self-efficacy and job satisfaction in IT company. Investigating the effect between transformational leadership and job satisfaction in IT company may also be a tip of an understanding of how to manage employee turnover. Samples of 387 employees in IT companies were analyzed by structural equation modeling using Lisrel 8.7 and it showed acceptable data-fit of proposed model and supported all of research hypotheses. The empirical results indicated that transformational leadership significantly influences empowerment, self-efficacy and job satisfaction and also it confirmed that empowerment and self-efficacy are effective mediators linking job satisfaction. That is the findings reveal that transformational leaders boost employee's job satisfaction indirectly.

항공사 종사원의 리더십이 리더십 유효성에 미치는 영향 (An Effect of Cabin Crew's Leadership on Leadership Effectiveness)

  • The purpose of this study is to describe upon the most effective leadership stlyes for Airlines based on the transformational and transactional leadership that Bernard M.Bass proposed. The outcome of leadership treated here will be employee's extra efforts, employee's satisfaction with the leader, the effectiveness of the leader, involvement by employees in the organization, and management outcomes perceived by employees. The result of correlation showed that transformational leadership factors had positive impacts on the outcomes of leadership, but the transactional leadership had a negative impact on outcomes of leadership. According to results of multiple regression analyses, transformational leadership had a grater positive impact on outcomes of leadership than did transactional leadership. Transformational leadership is expected to promote and enhance the effectiveness of the hotel leaders, as well as the airline employee's extra effort, their satisfaction with the leader, involvement in the organization, and their perception of management outcomes. It is imperative that the airline industry continues to develop transformational leader.

Role of Fashion Leadership Influencing the Effect of the Environmental Benefits of Second-hand Clothing on Continuance Usage Intention

  • Growth in the second-hand clothing (SHC) market has become noteworthy, especially for millennial consumers in Korea. This study identifies the moderating role of fashion leadership influencing the relationship between the perceived environmental benefits of SHC and continuance usage intention for millennial consumers. The hypotheses were statistically tested using online survey data, and the respondents were Korean female millennials aged between 25 and 39 years who had online shopping experiences of SHC within 3 months. Furthermore, 263 responses were analyzed by confirmatory factor, hierarchical regression, and conditional process analyses using SPSS, AMOS, and PROCESS v3.3. Results validated that the perceived environmental benefits of SHC and fashion leadership have positive effects on continuance usage intention of purchased second-hand items. Fashion leadership also moderates the relationship between the environmental benefits of SHC and continuance usage intention, showing that as the level of fashion leadership increases, the environmental benefits have more positive effects on continuance usage intention. Theoretical and practical implications were also discussed. This study will help bridge theoretical and practical gaps between purchasing and using SHC by focusing on the interaction effect of fashion leadership and its perceived environmental benefits.

  • This study focuses on the influence of followership on leadership and empowerment, and to verify based on the control variables taken in IT SME's to enhance competitiveness through innovation and improvement plan that have been taken. Because there can be a lot of information to be taken, the laws of Moderated Regression Multiple analysis(MMR) were used. Amos, due to the moderating effect of Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) has been employed to re-verify the results seen with Moderated Regression Multiple analysis. The paper focuses on determining whether transformational leadership or transactional leadership is effective as shown by the levels of empowerment derived from these two types of leadership under study. As a result, both the Moderated Regression Multiple analysis and structural equation model searched information on transformational and followership for empowerment having moderating effects. In the Moderated Regression Multiple analysis, results showed that empowerment for leadership in business in the regulation of followership role appeared not to be seen. However, using the structural equation modeling, moderating effects have been found.

Perceived Leadership Style of Korean Dietitians : Focusing on the Transformational and Transactional Leadership Styles

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the transformational or transactional leadership styles of Korean dietitians. The study was completed with Korean dietitians (n = 268, $67\%$ response) using mail survey. The leadership styles were divided into transformational (including charisma, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration) and transactional (contingent reward, management by exception) leadership found in the several literature. Overall, the score of Korean dietitians' transactional leadership was higher than that of the transformational leadership (p < .05). Among three sub-dimensions of the transformational leadership styles, the score of 'individualized consideration' was higher than 'charisma' and 'intellectual stimulation'. Between two sub-dimensions of the transactional leadership styles, Korean dietitians used more 'management-by-exception' than 'contingent reward'. ANOVA results suggested that the transformational leadership was more likely to be used by the younger dietitians, while the transactional leadership was more likely to be used by the older dietitians (p < .05). Data showed that dietitians having 3-6 year dietetic experience used more transformational leadership than other experienced dietitians (p < .05). It was also found that the Korean dietitians' leadership styles were influenced by the type of dietetic practice area. Data showed that 'charisma', 'intellectual stimulation', 'individualized consideration' and 'contingent reward' were more likely to be used by Korean dietitians from school than by dietitians from health. care and industry (p < .05). This study will be useful for dietitians to guide the application of appropriate leadership style in order to increase employees' job satisfaction as well as organizational performance. National Culture and Leadership Style on Restaurant Employees' Affective Commitment

  • The topics of leadership and culture have attracted substantial interest from both academics and practitioners. This study examines the effects of leadership styles and national culture on affective commitment in samples of the restaurant employees in US. In detail, this study examines how employees evaluate their leaders with different national cultures and the ways in which cultural similarity influences employees' affective commitment. The findings suggest that participative leadership style and supportive leadership style have effects on affective commitment but instrumental leadership style does not. In addition, the findings show that employees evaluate differently leaderships of their leaders with different national culture. Finally, in order to increase the employees' affective commitment, it is recommended for managers to employ supportive leadership style toward employees of different national cultures. Participative leadership style is more effective when a manager is familiar with his or her employees' national culture.

CEO의 리더십이 조직유효성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of CEO's Leadership on the Organiational Effectiveness)

  • 본 연구는 컨설팅산업에 있어서 첫째, CEO의 거래적 변혁적 리더십이 조직유효성에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 둘째, 개인주의 성향에 의한 집단구분에 따라 CEO의 리더십에 대한 인식과 조직유효성에 차이가 있는지를 분석한다. 실증분석 결과 CEO의 거래적 변혁적 리더십은 조직유효성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인주의 성향이 강한 컨설팅조직이 낮은 컨설팅조직에 비해서 카리스마 리더십에 대한 인식에서 차이가 있었다.

중국 소프트웨어 산업에서 변혁적 리더십이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향: 학습민첩성과 조직몰입의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Innovative Behavior in China's Software Industry: Focused on the mediating effect of Learning Agility and Organizational Commitment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 변혁적 리더십이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향과 학습민첩성 및 조직몰입의 매개효과를 검증하여 중국 소프트웨어 산업의 혁신과 리더십 개발에 대한 방향성을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 연구방법론으로서는 중국 소프트웨어 산업에 종사하는 종업원을 대상으로 전자 설문을 실시, 유효표본 271부를 사용하였으며, 분석을 위하여 AMOS 23.0과 SPSS 26.0을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 변혁적 리더십의 하위요인인 카리스마, 개별적 배려, 지적자극, 영감적 동기부여가 각각 혁신행동에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학습민첩성과 조직몰입이 모두 혁신행동에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 변혁적 리더십과 혁신행동 간에 학습민첩성과 조직몰입의 부분 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이러한 결과는 중국 소프트웨어 산업의 혁신행동에 있어 변혁적 리더십 개발과 학습 및 몰입 프로그램의 필요성을 제시한다.
