  • Multivariate data analysis tools were used to improve the understanding of the wet end chemistry and white water system of the Papermill at NorskeCanada Crofton Division. Specifically, the analysis was aimed at identifying what variables were contributing to increased retention aid use and wet end instability. Several models were developed using data sets with up to 88 process variables and over 3000 observations. It was found that increased retention aid use was driven primarily by PCC and TMP usage as well as the addition of Alaskan White Spruce to the TMP furnish.

  • Aerospace industry is a combination of high technologies which has several characteristics such as product reliability, precision, light weight, and energy efficiency. Nowadays, each country is trying to invigorating knowledge and information sharing between the companies for the synergy effect of aerospace industry. However, the research and empirical analysis on the vitalization of aerospace industry cluster are insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to firstly classify the supporting functions of government for aerospace industry cluster into five types by analyzing existing literatures and status reports issued by government. Secondly, companies are surveyed on the five classified types of supporting functions by questionnaire. Questionnaire survey responded by 30 aerospace companies in Gyeongnam aerospace industry cluster are analyzed. Quantitative analysis methods were used for statistical analysis. Based on the analysis, improvement directions of government supporting functions are suggested. The results of this study is expected to help policy making for invigorating the aerospace industry cluster.

  • Purpose - In order to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of cultural tourism creative industries in the region, different grade cities should adapt to local conditions and differentiated development as the angle. It can promote the optimization of regional tourism industry structure, and make relevant suggestions accordingly. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on the characteristics of cultural tourism creative industry, 24 indicators are selected from four aspects. The comprehensive competitiveness evaluation index system of cultural tourism creative industry is constructed. The essay use factor analysis to quantitatively evaluate 27 cities in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta, and use cluster analysis to classify the competitiveness of cultural tourism creative industries in each city into five types. Results - The results of cluster analysis show that the whole area presents five kinds of step-like features, which are mature leading type, the advantageous development type, comparatively advantageous type, well-grounded type and difference-promotion type. Conclusions - The factor analysis method was used to quantitatively evaluate 27 cities in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta, and cluster analysis was used to classify the cultural tourism creative industry competitiveness of each city into fives type city. Based on the differentiation of cultural tourism creative industry competitiveness and 27 cities in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta, the relevant strategies were proposed.

  • Purpose - This study shows that which country has more competitiveness in aerospace industry. The reason why author choose aerospace industry for research is aerospace industry is one of major business in every country in the world instead of infant industry. Research design and methodology - In order to research this topic, there are 3 tools to analyze competitiveness in aerospace industry. To achieve analysis of competitiveness between USA and England, UN comtrade program which provides huge database including time serial data. Results - All of TSI are over zero (0) which means that from 2000 to 2018, USA aerospace industry is export specialization as USA aerospace industry has comparative advantage against England aerospace industry. All of TSI in USA are approaching to figure +1 as export specialization except 2010. Conclusions - Even though RCA value in 2000 is 6.313, however, when time goes by and they are 8.997 in 2005, 8.007 in 2010 and 8.389 in 2015 respectively and RCA value is slightly going down as figure 7 in 2018. we review above market share analysis data, USA has overpoweringly superior competitive power against British aerospace industry.

  • The media industry is becoming more important around the world and there are changes over this industry. Therefore this is the time that the economic impacts is needed about media industry. This study attempts to examine the economic impacts of the media industry using an inter-industry analysis. Specifically, the study investigates production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect and employ-inducing effect of the media industry based on demand-driven model and the study deals with supply shortage effect and sectoral price effect of the media industry by using supply-driven model and Leontief price model. The results of this analyses are presented; 0.5461 won in production-inducing effect, 0.3143 won in value added inducing effect when 1 won is produced by media industry, 5.0459 persons in employ-inducing effect when 1 billion won is produced, 1 won of supply shortage in this industry results 0.7353 won in supply shortage effect which affect the other industries. Sectoral price effect is 0.2389% due to the 10% increase of price.

  • Considering the intensified ties between Korean service industry and the other industries in China and Japan, this study empirically analyzes the inter-industry network between the service industry in the Korean capital region and 10 industrial sectors in 20 city-regions of China, Japan, and Korea(CJK). Firstly, unit structures are constructed based on the estimated CJK interregional input-output tables to understand the production connection. Moreover, the reorganized unit structures are visualized as networks and examined from various angles. As the results of the analysis, the inter-industry network of the service industry in the Seoul Metropolitan Area is still mostly dependent on domestic industries, especially on manufacturing industry, while it shows the tendency to be weakly connected to the industries in Chinese and Japanese city-regions.
