A study on the efficient calculation method of the motion data in the industrial robot (산업용 로보트의 효율적인 작동 데이터 산출방법에 관한 연구)

  • The robot motion control in the industrial robot is generally executed by the teach pendant. But, it requires much teaching time and workload to the operators. This study suggests the use of the robot motion control method by the computed keyboard in the industrial robot instead of the teach pendant. TES/CCS(Teaching Expert System/Cartesian Coordinate System) and TES/WCS(Teaching Expert System/World Coordinate System) that have been proposed to improve the robot motion control are applied for this concept. This study is intended to improve the robot motion control in TES/CCS. Parameter limitation problems in getting the motion data on position and posture of the robot in macro motion control are solved by proposed geometric algorithm. This result demonstrates reduction of the average teaching task time to the teaching position.

A Study on the Performance Level of Industrial Robot Cell Safety Function Control System (산업용 로봇 셀 안전기능 제어시스템 성능수준 연구)

  • Most existing industrial robots have fences installed around them to ensure safety. However, industrial sites are recently being transformed into workspaces shared by both robots and humans working cooperatively, wherein the robots are without security fencing owing to the development of sensor technology. However, in the last five years (2017-2021), 16 deaths have occurred due to robots at industrial sites, with the main cause of the accidents being workers approaching an industrial robot in operation and getting entangled with or colliding into the robot and its peripherals. To prevent such accidents, multilateral research is needed. To this end, this study analyzes the nonconforming contents of safety inspections for industrial robots and demonstrates the safety performance of the safety function control system implemented in an industrial robot cell. In addition, to ensure the fundamental safety of industrial robots, this study proposes the introduction of a safety certification system so that safety functions can be implemented in the design, manufacturing, and installation stages of the robots.

  • This paper described a relationship between motion speed and working accuracy of industrial articulated robot arms. Working accuracy of the robot arm deteriorates at high speed operation caused by a nonlinear transformation of the kinematics and the time delay of the robot arm dynamic. The deterioration of the following trajectory was expressed as a linear function of the squares of the robot arm motion speed, depending upon a posture of the robot arm and division interval of the objective trajectory.

  • The docking and recharging system for a mobile robot must guarantee the ability to perform its tasks continuously without human intervention. This paper proposes two docking mechanisms with localization error-compensation capability for an auto recharging system. The mechanisms use friction forces or magnetic forces between the docking parts of the robot and those of the docking station. It is a structure to improve the allowance ranges of lateral and directional docking offsets, in which the robot is able to dock into the docking station. In this paper, auto-recharging system and the features of the proposed mechanisms are verified with experimental results using simple homing method.

  • The design of a control unit for a playback-type industrial robot is studied. Implemented for the cylindrical-coordinate type industrial robot with 5 degrees of freedom, the control unit constructed for the study consists of (i) z-80 .mu.p-based .mu.-computer control system (ii) Teach-Box for work command, and (iii) various softwares for generating signals for servo driving unit and operating the robot as playback-type. Softwares are developed by using high level Basic Language and low level z-80 Assembly Language for ease of programming and speed of program execution. To show the effectiveness, and example is included.
