밀양지역의 PM2.5 농도 및 성분특성 (The PM2.5 Concentration and Components Characteristics in Miryang)

  • This study summarizes the relations among $PM_{2.5}$ concentration, water-soluble ions concentration, metallic element Components characteristics and SPSS in negative ion and metallic element of $PM_{2.5}$ particle in Miryang.(By the urban area, the industrial complex area and the suburban area according to the season) $PM_{2.5}$ concentration of total 72 samples collected from 3 sites turned out to range from 3.47 to 34.7 ${\mu}g/m^3$, and the average concentration was the suburban area-the kin nup(16.00 ${\mu}g/m^3$) > the urban area-the roof of the old Miryang university(10.32 ${\mu}g/m^3$) > the industrial complex-Sapo industrial complex(10.29 ${\mu}g/m^3$). In particular, the suburban area had $PM_{2.5}$ concentration 1.5 times those of urban area, industrial complex. It was thought although the site was suburban and farm-side without pollutants around, it had a higher concentration value influenced by external factors including the brickyard, small-scale incinerator, driving range construction, construction on the Daegu-Busan express and the widening of the four-lane road between Miryang-Anyang nearby. As for water-soluble ions among $PM_{2.5}$ particle collected in Miryang area, $SO4_{2^-}$ accounted for 60% and $NO_{3^-}$, was 30% in spring and summer. And $NO_{3^-}$ accounted for 50% and $SO4_{2^-}$ was 35% in fall and winter. The AI value of metallic Components among $PM_{2.5}$ particle collected in Miryang area had a high value influenced by the apartment complex construction and the extension work of road. The industrial complex area had Zn concentration 3 times, and Fe concentration 2 times those of urban area and suburb area. When it comes to the relation with metallic elements in urban area, the highest coefficient of correlation was between Cr-Fe with 0.85, and Pb-Cd turned out in the reverse correlation. Among metallic elements, the coefficients of correlation between Zn and Cr, Mn, Fe, NI were high in industrial complex area. The highest coefficient of correlation was between Mn-Zn with 0.88, meanwhile Ni and Cu, Cd turned out in the reverse correlation in the suburb area. These coefficients of correlation are attributed to the difference in pollutant sources, rather than difference in pollutant and non-pollutant.

몇 가지 환경 시료 중에 함유된 다이옥신류 이성질체들의 분포에 대한 상관성 연구 (The Study of distribution relationship of dioxin isomers in some environmental matrix)

  • 최근 환경 잔류성 유기오염 물질과 내분비계 장애물질로 지정된 다이옥신은 가장 중요한 환경 물질로 취급되어 인체위해성 평가, 배출 오염원 측정 및 분석 방법, 저감대책, 환경에의 농도 및 영향 평가를 위한 다양한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 폐기물 소각 등 모든 연소과정에서 주로 생성된 후 대기 순환 등을 통하여 환경 중에 확산된 다이옥신 등은 토양에 축적된다. 본 연구에서는 산업 폐기물 소각장 배출 가스, 생활 쓰레기 소각장 배출 가스 및 대기 그리고 토양의 시료로부터 다이옥신의 이성질체 분포에 대한 상관성을 비교하였다. PCDDs와 PCDFs를 OCDD를 기준으로 하여 그 비율에 기초하여 곡선을 작성하여 그 형태로부터 유사성을 비교한 결과 산업 폐기물 소각장 배출 가스와 대기 중에서의 이성질체 분포 곡률과 비율이 거의 일치함을 볼 수 있다. PCDDs와 PCDFs의 결과를 비교하였을 때 서로 유사한 곡률과 비율에 대한 결론을 나타내었으며 따라서 환경 중에 노출되는 다이옥신은 생활 쓰레기 소각장 배출 가스보다는 산업 폐기물 소각장 배출가스에 좀 더 의존적임을 알 수 있었다. 토양 시료의 경우 농약 등 다른 오염원의 가능성 및 자연 분해 정도를 배제할 수는 없지만 곡률의 형태는 배출가스들과 유사함을 보여 토양 오염 또한 소각장 배출 가스들에 기인함을 유추할 수 있었다.

산업폐기물 소각장 근로자에서 요중 PAHs 대사산물과 혈중 aromatic-DNA adducts (Association of PAH-DNA adducts and Urinary PAH metabolites influenced by polymorphisms of xenobiotic metabolism enzymes in industrial wase incinerating workers)

  • This study evaluated the concentrations of urinary metabolites of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in industrial waste incineration workers. The effect of genetic polymorphisms of xenobiotic metabolism enzymes on urinary concentration of PAH metabolites was assessed. And, aromatic DNA adduct levels were also determined in total white blood cells. Fifty employees were recruited from a company handling industrial wastes located in Ansan, Korea: non-exposed group (n=21), exposed group (n=29). Sixteen ambient PAHs were determined by GC/MSD (NIOSH method) from personal breathing zone samples of nine subjects near incinerators. Urinary 1-hydroxypyrene glucuronide (1-OHPG), a major pyrene metabolite, was assayed by synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy after immunoaffinity purification using monoclonal antibody 8E11 (SFS/IAC). Multiplex PCR was used for genotyping for GSTMI/TI and PCR-RFLP for genotyping of CYP1A1 (MspI and Ile/Val). PAH-DNA adducts in peripheral blood WBC were measured by the nuclease P1-enhanced postlabeling assay. Smoking habit, demographic and occupational information were collected by self-administered questionnaire. The range of total ambient PAH levels were 0.00-7.00 mg/㎥ (mean 3.31). Urinary 1-OHPG levels were significantly higher in workers handling industrial wastes than in those with presumed lower exposure to PAHs (p=0.006, by Kruskal-Wallis test). There was a statistically significant dose-response increase in 1-OHPG levels with the number of cigarettes consumed per day (Pearson correlation coefficient=0.686, p<0.001). Urinary 1-OHPG levels in occupationally exposed smoking workers were highest compared with non-occupationally exposed smokers (p=0.053, by Kruskal-Wallis test). Smoking and GSTMI genotype were significant predictors for log-transformed 1-OHPG by multiple regression analysis (overall model R²=0.565, p<0.001), whereas smoking was the only significant predictor for log-transformed aromatic DNA adducts (overall model R²=0.249, p=0.201). Aromatic DNA adducts was also a significantly correlation between log transferred urinary 1-OHPG levels (pearson's correlation coefficient=0.307, p=0.04). However, the partial correlation coefficient adjusting for Age, Sex, and cigarette consumption was not significant (r=0.154, p=0.169). The significant association exists only in individuals with the GSTMI null genotype (pearsons correlation coefficient=0.516, p=0.010; partial correlation coefficient adjusting for age, sex, and cigarette consumption, r=0.363, p=0.038). Our results suggest that the significant increase in urinary 1-OHPG in the exposed workers is due to higher prevalence of smokers among them, and that the association between urinary PAH metabolites and aromatic DNA adducts in workers of industrial waste handling may be modulated by GSTMI genotype. There results remain to be confirmed in future larger studies.

시멘트산업에서 무기질 산업 폐·부산물의 재활용 (The Recycling of Inorganic Industrial Waste in Cement Industry)

  • 본 연구에서는 시멘트 산업에서 이용 가능한 무기질 산업폐기물의 발생현황 및 물성을 조사하여 시멘트원료, mineralizer/flux, 시멘트 혼합재, 특수시멘트 제조원료 등 용도별 재활용 방안을 결정하고 적용실험을 하였다. 산업폐기물의 시멘트 원료로의 이용에 있어, 철질원료 대체용으로는 Cu-slag, Zn-slag, 전기로 슬래그 및 전로 슬래그 등이, 규석질 원료의 대체용으로 폐주물사가 사용되었다. 제당회사에서 발생되는 $CaF_2$가 주성분인 폐소석회와 아연제련 공정에서 부산되는 폐기물인 jarosite를 mineralizer/flux로 사용하여 클린커의 소성온도를 약 $100{\sim}150^{\circ}C$ 낮출 수 있었다. 혼합재료의 이용에 있어, Cu-slag와 STS sludge를 혼합 첨가한 경우 시멘트 혼합재로서의 충분한 물성을 얻을 수 있었고, fly ash 및 석회석도 시멘트의 혼합재로 적당량 첨가함으로서 시멘트의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있었다. 특수 시멘트의 원료로의 이용에 있어서는, 알루미늄 폐슬러지를 원료로 속경성 클린커를 제조하고 이를 이용하여 2시간내에 $300kg/cm^2$강도를 발현하는 초속경 시멘트를 제조하였고, 두 종류의 도시쓰레기 소각회를 원료로 이용하여 $C_3S(3CaO{\cdot}SiO_2)$$C_{11}A_7{\cdot}CaCl_2(11CaO{\cdot}7Al_2O_3{\cdot}CaCl_2)$가 주요 광물인 시멘트를 제조할 수 있었다.

고정배출원의 먼지 크기별 (PM, PM10, PM2.5) 배출 특성 연구 (The Characterization of PM, PM10, and PM2.5 from Stationary Sources)

  • The objective of this study was to estimate the emission characteristics for PM, $PM_{10}$, and $PM_{2.5}$ in the various stationary sources. The particulate matters collected in the various stationary sources such as power plants (Coal and B-C oil), incinerators(municipal and industrial waste), and glass furnaces. The PM and $PM_{10}$, PM and $PM_{2.5}$, $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ samples were collected using the cyclone type $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$ samplers and 30 species(19 inorganic species, 9 ionic species, OC and EC) were analyzed by ICP, IC, and TOR/IMPROVE methods. The mass concentrations of PM, $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$ from nine stationary sources ranged $0.63{\sim}9.58mg/Sm^3$, $0.26{\sim}7.47mg/Sm^3$ and $0.13{\sim}6.34mg/Sm^3$, respectively. The level of $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$ portion in PM calculated 0.63~0.99, 0.38~0.94, respectively. In the case of emission trend for species, power plant showed high concentrations for Al, Mg, Na, Si, V and $SO_4{^{2-}}$, respectively. Also, Ca, Fe, K, Si, $Cl^-$, and $K^+$ showed high in incinerator. In the case of glass furnace, Na, Pb, K, Si, $Na^+$ and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ represented high concentrations. Power plant showed higher EC/OC concentrations than other sampling sites. These results suggest the possible role for complement establishment process of emission inventory and emission management for PM.

폐기물소각시설의 수은배출특성 연구 (A Study on the Emission Characteristics of Mercury in Municipal and Industrial Waste Incinerators)

  • The emission characteristics of mercury in waste incinerators were investigated to get basic data for the policy development on the emission reduction of mercury (Hg). For the study several important factors were analysed from 4 incinerators such as mercury concentration, emission factors and removal rate for control devices. The results are listed below. Mercury concentrations in the flue gas were 0.39~5.96 $\mu\textrm{g}$/S㎥ in MWI and 2.5~8.8 $\mu\textrm{g}$/S㎥ in IWI. The distributions of gaseous and particulate mercury in flue gas were above 99% and below 1 %, respectively. Therefore, in order to remove mercury effectively, it is important to control the gaseous mercury. Mercury concentrations in fly ash collected from control device were found as 16.2~35.6 mg/kg- ash in FF of MWI. Also mercury concentrations at the front and back point of control device of MWI were 33.45~62.65 $\mu\textrm{g}$/S㎥ and 0.88~3.49 $\mu\textrm{g}$/S㎥, respectively. Emission factors were estimated as 3.67~11.67 mg/ton in FF, 2.6~24.5 mg/ton in MWI with SNCR, SDR and FF, 54.9~192.7 mg/ton in IWI with Cyclone and FF. Emissions from Municipal Waste Incinerator were found both in minimum and maximum ranges. Annual mercury emissions emitted from MWI was estimated as 20.0 kg (6.0~33.9 kg).

메탄/공기 화염에서 연소실 압력변동이 연소특성과 국소 반응강도에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Changing Combustor Pressure on Combustion Characteristics and Local Reaction Intensity in the CH4/Air Flames)

  • The influence of combustor pressure on the local reaction characteristics of $CH_4$/air flames was investigated by measurements of local chemiluminescence intensity. Induced flow flames are often applied to the industrial boiler systems and incinerator in order to improve heat transfer and prevent exhaust gas leakage. In order to investigate combustion characteristics in the induced flow pattern, the combustor pressure index($P^*$) was controlled in the range of $0.7{\sim}1.3$ for each equivalence ratio in the present combustion system, where $P^*$ is defined as the ratio of absolute pressure to atmospheric one. Relationship between local reaction intensity and pressure index have been investigated by simultaneous $CH^*$, $C^*_2$ and $OH^*$ intensity measurements. It could be observed that flame length became longer with decreasing $P^*$ from $CH^*$ chemiluminescence intensity of axial direction. The mean value of $C^*_2$ and $CH^*$ chemiluminescence intensities, which indicates reaction intensity in the $CH_4$/air flames, decreased with decreasing pressure index for ${\Phi}{\leq}1$, but increased with decreasing pressure index for ${\Phi}$>1. $C^*_2/CH^*$ intensity ratio, which can be a good marker to demonstrate local equivalence ratio, was almost same for ${\Phi}{\leq}1$ regardless of pressure index change, while they showed high level for lower pressure index for ${\Phi}$>1 conditions.

울산지역 공단에서 발생되는 비산재를 이용한 제올라이트 합성 (Synthesis of Zeolite Using Discharged Fly Ash in an Industrial Complex in Ulsan)

  • 본 연구에서는 울산지역의 화력발전소 및 소각로에서 발생하는 비산재, 석탄계 비산재와 폐촉매를 이용하여 수열합성, 용융합성, 용융/수열합성법에 의해 제올라이트를 합성하였다. 석탄계 비산재(F-C1와 F-C2)와 폐촉매(F-W5)는 $SiO_2$$Al_2O_3$의 함량이 60.29~89.62 wt%이며, F-C1과 F-C2는 XRD 패턴 분석에서 quartz와 mullite를 포함하고 있었다. 석탄계 비산재와 폐촉매를 이용한 제올라이트 합성은 3가지 합성방법에서 모두 가능하였다. 석탄계 비산재와 폐촉매는 용융합성법에 의해 주로 Na-A형 제올라이트(Z-C1, Z-C2와 Z-W5)로 합성되었으며, 합성된 제올라이트(Z-C1 and Z-C2)는 비산재의 CaO 성분과 합성과정에서 첨가된 Na2CO3에 의해 불순물인 calcite 피크를 형성하였다.

  • Recently, there are growing interests on carbon emissions related in climate change which is worldwide emerging important issue. Some research works are now carrying out in order to reduce the carbon emission in pulp and paper industries by the synthesis of precipitated calcium carbonate using the exhaust carbon dioxide from combustion furnace or incinerator. However, for solving the original problems on carbon emission, we need to consider the analysis of basic methodology on $CO_2$ through the process efficiencies. There are two general tools for carbon emissions; one is the greenhouse gas inventory and the other is $LCCO_2$ method which is applied to particular items of raw materials and utilities in unit process. In this study, the carbon emissions in wood-containing printing paper production line were calculated by using $LCCO_2$ method. The general materials and utilities for paper production, such as fibrous materials, chemical additives, electric power, steam, and industrial water were analyzed. As the results, $Na_2SiO_3$ showed the highest loads in carbon emissions, and the total amount of carbon emissions was the highest in electricity. In the production line of printing paper using de-inked pulp and BTMP, as the mixing ratio of DIP was higher, the carbon emissions were decreased because of high use of electric power in TMP process.

방사성 폐기물 소각공정을 위한 선택적 촉매 환원법 연구 (A Study on Selective Catalytic Reduction(SCR) for the Radioactive Waste Incineration Process)

  • 방사성 폐기물 소각로의 배기가스 중에 포함되어 있는 NOx를 제거하기 위하여 선택적 촉매 환원법에 활용되는 촉매들의 특성을 조사하였다. 촉매는 $V_2O_5$, $MoO_3$, 그리고 $SnO_2$를 하니컴 형태의 $TiO_2$ 담체에 담지시켜 제조하였으며 촉매의 종류, 반응온도, feed의 조성, $NH_3$/NO 몰비의 영향 등이 반응특성에 미치는 영향을 실험실 규모의 반응기에서 조사하였다. 10% $V_2O_5/TiO_2$ 촉매가 $350^{\circ}C$에서 94.4%의 높은 $NO{\rightarrow}N_2$ 전환율을 보였으며 열적 안정성이 좋은 $MoO_3$의 첨가는 높은 전환율을 보이는 온도범위를 확장시켜 주었다.
