  • Automated driving car is drawing attention as a seminal service representing 4th industrial revolution era based on 5G network, AI, IOT and sensor technology. automated driving car is expected to evolve into the final level which does not require driver's input. Drivers are able to consume new additional time in private space. Many industries started to compete to control these time and space. Media industry is expecting quite big change due to the introduction of automated driving cars. This research examines the impact of the media industry and social & institutional issues of automated driving cars based on depth interviews of experts. The introduction of automated driving cars is giving new opportunity for media industry as contents provider. Telcos and IT corporations are expected to compete each other to get the control of infotainment systems of automated driving cars. The reform of current regulations regarding car driving is pointed as important task to protect private information and the introduction of automated driving cars.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution symbolized by the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence, various embedded devices are increasing exponentially. These devices have communication functions despite their low specifications, so the possibility of personal information leakage is increasing, and security threats are also increasing. Embedded devices can have security issues at most levels, from hardware to services over the network. In addition, it is difficult to apply general security techniques because it has characteristics of resource constraints such as low specifications and low power, and the related technology has not been standardized. In this study, we present vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations in applying SDN to embedded devices in consideration of structural characteristics and real-world discovered cases. This study presents vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations when applying SDN to embedded devices. From a hardware perspective, we consider the problems of Wi-Fi chips and Bluetooth, the problems of open flow implementation, SDN controllers, and examples of structural properties. SDN separates the data plane and the control plane, and provides a standardized interface between the two, enabling efficient communication control. It can respond to the security limitations of existing network technologies that are difficult to respond to rapid changes.

  • It has recently been noticed that the headway of unlicensed wireless technology is necessary as user's demands of wireless tech increase and the development of high-speed data service by using low-power short-range wireless network is needed. Hence, it is inevitable to study sharing and coexistence for broadband spectrum of diverse unlicensed application with wide bandwidth. In this paper, an interference examination between unlicensed WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) in the 6GHz and OB (Outside Broadcasting) system which is an incumbent service in the same frequency band was conducted and it suggests separation distance for the coexistence. Thus, MCL (Minimum Coupling Loss) and MC (Monte Carlo) methods were used to set up interference scenarios for the interference analysis and compute the separation distance between two systems according to the same frequency band and frequency separation.

  • In this study, we synthesized pH-controlled resorcinol-formaldehyde (RF) gels through the polymerization of two starting materials: resorcinol and formaldehyde. The prepared RF gels were dried using an acetone substitution method, and they were subsequently carbonized under nitrogen atmosphere to obtain carbon xerogels (CX_Y) prepared at different pH (Y). The carbon xerogels were utilized as active materials for coin-type organic supercapacitor electrodes to investigate the influence of pH on the electrochemical properties of the carbon xerogels. The carbon xerogels prepared at lower pH (CX_9.5 and CX_10) exhibited sufficient particle growth, with a three-dimensional network of particles during the RF gel formation, resulting in the development of abundant mesopores. Conversely, the carbon xerogels prepared at higher pH (CX_11 and CX_12) retained densely packed structures of small particles, leading to pore collapse and low specific surface areas. Consequently, CX_9.5 and CX_10 showed high specific surface areas, and provided ample adsorption sites for the formation of electric double layers with electrolyte ions. Moreover, the three-dimensional particle network in CX_9.5 and CX_10 significantly enhanced electrical conductivity. The presence of well-developed mesopores in these materials further facilitated the effective transport of electrolyte ions, contributing to their superior performance as organic supercapacitor electrodes. This study confirmed that pH-controlled carbon xerogels are one of the promising active materials for organic supercapacitor electrodes. Furthermore, we concluded that pH during RF gel formation is a crucial factor determining the electrode performance of the carbon xerogels, highlighting the need for precise pH control to obtain high-performance carbon xerogel electrodes.

  • Currently, the urban railway operating agency is improving the emergency telephone in operation into an IP-based "trackside integrated interface communication facility" that can support a variety of additional services in order to quickly respond to emergency situations within the tunnel. This study is based on this Analyze the needs of various stakeholders regarding the design of a system architecture that establishes an IoT sensor network environment to detect abnormal situations in the tunnel and transmits the collected information to the control center to predict disaster situations in advance, and defines the system requirements. In addition, a scenario model for disaster response was provided through the presentation of a service model. Through this, the perspective of responding to urban railway disasters changes from reactive response to proactive prevention, thereby ensuring safe operation of urban railways and preventing major industrial accidents.

  • The railway is a public transportation system that provides large-scale passenger transportation and service, whose reliability and safety is the top priority. The wiring of railway vehicles is classified into train control lines (train lines) and communication lines. The train lines are used for input / output signals related to vehicle driving and safety functions, and the communication lines are used for the input / output signals for passenger services such as broadcasting. In order to measure the reliability of railway vehicles, a train line is applied to the input / output interface of the control signals between the electric control devices in the vehicle, and there are many electromechanical devices such as relays and contactors for the control logic. In fact, since the vehicle control circuit is composed of several thousand contacts, it is difficult to check for errors such as contact failure, and it is impossible to check the real-time status, so a lot of manpower and time is required for regular maintenance. Therefore, we analyze the current state of the train line design of the electric equipment used for driving and services in domestic railway cars and propose three wiring reduction methods to improve it. Based on the analysis of domestic electric vehicles, it was confirmed that the wiring reduction effect is 35% or more.

  • Two-dimensional (2-D) X-ray computerized tomography (CT) equipments are widely used in industrial and medical fields, and nowadays studies on reconstruction algorithm for 3-D cone-beam acquisition systems are active for better utilization. The authors recent-By have proposed a fast reconstruction aigorithm using tree-structured filter bank for 2-D C1, and shown the algorithm is applicable to an approximate reconstruction of 3-D CT. For exact 3-D CT reconstruction, however, we have to backproject 1-D signal into 3-D space. This paper proposes a fast implementation method for this back-projection by use of tree-structured filter bank. and shows the proposed method works approximately 700 times faster than the direct one with almost same reconstruction image quality.
