Mixed acceptance sampling plans for quantity of products in prepackages are widely used for compliance testing. To pass testing, random samples jointly comply with two legal requirements: (i) the average net content of an inspection lot shall be not less than the labelled quantity and (ii) the numbers of under-filled prepackages in a sample are less than or equal to permitted numbers. This paper discusses some drawbacks of the acceptance sampling plans and requirements recommended in OIML R87 (KS A 50087 translated by Korean) developed by the International Organization of Legal Metrology and evaluates the producer's and consumer's risks. In addition, problem of determining a target value in filling processes of prepackages under the OIML R87 requirements is addressed and illustrated with a numerical example.

Post industrial technologies have improved human standard of living, however, a host of negative environmental consequences from the unlimited industrial appetite have posed serious global challenges. Remanufacturing is an industrial manufacturing process that is to restore old products to perform like a new and to save energy, natural resources, landfill space and to reduce air pollution by less re-smelting. By extending product lift cycle, remanufacturing gives us enormous opportunities for sustainable development of our society. This paper introduces needs and current state of the art in the field of remanufacturing, also analyzes old products in terms of product variety and wear conditions with an example of automobile alternators. Then, a general and a product-specified remanufacturing process will be determined with them. Finally, this paper shows systemized guidelines for remanufacturing process of the specified parts. The results could be also used as a basic information for further remanufacturing applications.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the problems and the sources of defective products and draw improvement plans in a small plastic boat manufacturing process using TOC (Theory Of Constraints) and statistical analysis. TOC is a methodology to present a scheme for optimization of production process by finding the CCR (Capacity Constraints Resource) in the organization or the all production process through the concentration improvement activity. In this paper, we found and reformed constraints and bottlenecks in plastic boat manufacturing process in the target company for less defect ratio and production cost by applying DBR (Drum, Buffer, Rope) scheduling. And we set the threshold values for the critical process variables using statistical analysis. The result can be summarized as follows. First, CCRs in inventory control, material mix, and oven setting were found and solutions were suggested by applying DBR method. Second, the logical thinking process was utilized to find core conflict factors and draw solutions. Third, to specify the solution plan, experiment data were statistically analyzed. Data were collected from the daily journal addressing the details of 96 products such as temperature, humidity, duration and temperature of heating process, rotation speed, duration time of cooling, and the temperature of removal process. Basic statistics and logistic regression analysis were conducted with the defection as the dependent variable. Finally, critical values for major processes were proposed based on the analysis. This paper has a practical importance in contribution to the quality level of the target company through theoretical approach, TOC, and statistical analysis. However, limited number of data might depreciate the significance of the analysis and therefore it will be interesting further research direction to specify the significant manufacturing conditions across different products and processes.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the exposure possibility of by-products during the semiconductor manufacturing processes. Methods: The authors investigated types of chemicals generated during semiconductor manufacturing processes by the qualitative experiment on generation of by-products at the laboratory and a literature survey. Results: By-products due to decomposition of photoresist by UV-light during the photo-lithography process, ionization of arsine during the ion implant process, and inter-reactions of chemicals used at diffusion and deposition processes can be generated in wafer fabrication line. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene and formaldehyde can be generated during the mold process due to decomposition of epoxy molding compound and mold cleaner in semiconductor chip assembly line. Conclusions: Various types of by-products can be generated during the semiconductor manufacturing processes. Therefore, by-products carcinogen such as benzene, formaldehyde, and arsenic as well as chemical substances used during the semiconductor manufacturing processes should be controlled carefully.
In the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, with its accelerating radical changes and innovation, fashion is rapidly advancing to sustain social changes introduced by technological convergence. In light of this, the study investigates the social and cultural characteristics of technologizing fashion products: creative modifications emerge from technological convergence with fashion products and result in a realm separate from technology. By focusing on the nature of fashion, this study analyzes the technologization of fashion products for added value creation in the fashion system. Based on the findings, it interprets different attitudes toward technologizing that changes fashion products. Accordingly, this study reviews previous literature and qualitatively examines empirical cases based on inductive reasoning. In particular, it analyzes commercialized cases of fashion-technology convergence in fashion products found on online fashion media outlets between January 2007 and May 2021, a central period in intellectual and technological innovation. The characteristics of technologized fashion products are identified as follows: expansion of physical functions and categories, interaction with emotional sensibilities, artistry through combination with technologies, and computer-generated imagery(CGI) fashion as digital goods. Therefore, this study analyzes the characteristics of technologization, focusing on the social and cultural properties of fashion products. The findings provide opportunities to understand the paradigm shift of these products that was catalyzed by technologizing.

In this paper we have tackled the outstanding inventory planning problems over new product launching period in a more holistic manner by addressing first the definition of efficient business rules to effectively control and reduce the inventory risks followed by the rigorous explanations on the implementation guide on suggested inventory planning rules. It is not unusual for many companies in the consumer electronics market to make a great effort to reduce the time to launch a new product because the ability to bring out higher performing products in such a short time period greatly increases the probability for them to remain competitive in the high tech market. Among so many newly developed products, those products with new features and technologies appeal to many potential customers while products which fail to win customers by design and prices rapidly disappear in the market. To adapt to this business environment, those companies have been trying to find the answer to minimize the inventory of old products so they can move to next generation products quickly with less obsolete material. In the experimental implementation of our rule-based inventory planning, Company 'S' reduced the inventory cost for the outgoing products as low as 49% of its peak level of its preceding product version in just 5 month after the adoption of rule-based inventory planning process and system. This paper concluded the subject with a suggestion that the best performance of rule-based inventory planning is guaranteed not from one-time campaign of process improvement along with system development but the decision maker's continuing support and attention even without seeing any upcoming business crisis.

Internal defects are a major concern in the casting process because they have a significant influence on the strength and fatigue life of casting products. In general, they cause stress concentration and can be a starting point of cracks. Therefore, it is important to understand the effects of internal defects on mechanical properties such as fatigue life. In this study, fatigue experiments on tensile specimens with internal defects were performed. The internal defects in the casting product were scanned by an industrial CT scanner, and its shape was simplified by ellipsoidal primitives for the structural and fatigue analysis. The analysis results were compared with experimental results for casting products with internal defects. It was demonstrated that it is possible to consider internal defects of casting products in stress and fatigue analysis. The proposed method provides a tool for the prediction of the fatigue life of casting products and the investigation of the effects of internal defects on mechanical performance.

Various elements of Fabrication (FAB), mass production of existing products, new product development and process improvement evaluation might increase the complexity of production process when products are produced at the same time. As a result, complex production operation makes it difficult to predict production capacity of facilities. In this environment, production forecasting is the basic information used for production plan, preventive maintenance, yield management, and new product development. In this paper, we tried to develop a multiple linear regression analysis model in order to improve the existing production capacity forecasting method, which is to estimate production capacity by using a simple trend analysis during short time periods. Specifically, we defined overall equipment effectiveness of facility as a performance measure to represent production capacity. Then, we considered the production capacities of interrelated facilities in the FAB production process during past several weeks as independent regression variables in order to reflect the impact of facility maintenance cycles and production sequences. By applying variable selection methods and selecting only some significant variables, we developed a multiple linear regression forecasting model. Through a numerical experiment, we showed the superiority of the proposed method by obtaining the mean residual error of 3.98%, and improving the previous one by 7.9%.

This present was carried out to evaluate the adaptability of stabilization method which was used industrial byproducts as the stabilization agency in the abandoned mine site. In order to investigate stabilization effect on As-contaminated soils treated by industrial by-products, batch tests and column tests were carried out with As-contaminated soils collected from farmland around the abandoned mine site. ZVI(zero valent iron) and SRS(steel refining slag) was shown a good treatment effect. After the column test, sequential extraction test and simple bioavailability extraction test(SBET) were carried out to analysis of the soil, and scanning electron micrograph(SEM) analysis was carried out to compare the morphology and structure of ZVI and SRS before and after reacting with arsenic in the soil. As a result, ZVI and SRS were shown 93%, 62% reduction of As concentration respectively by comparison with untreated soils. Therefore, if ZVI and SRS are used as treatment materials in As-contaminated soils, it is expected that the As leaching from soils is reduced effectively.
This research, we will begin our analysis of the types of research example of designers by the linguistic studies of products form. Specially, we had a mind to generate the linguistic concept of products form by the linguistic relations between tools and thinking, and analysed how activate the roles of form language in linguistic and non-linguistic areas. We understood the relations of design process about idea generation, same means of interpretation of form and the generation of form concept, by using of the roles of form language made in design process. We showed the research examples of Enzo Mari and the origins of form language in view point of design history. Also, we classified the form linguistic concerns of designers and scholars interested in design areas by dividing various factors in view point of language. Finally, through the process of this classification, the researches of form language call for further study, as more the examples of detailed design practises and the individualized form language of products than systematic researches and abstract theories about products, and emphasized this viewpoint, we suggest a going-on research theme, the individualized products' differences of form language and concerns viewpoint of inter-culture, the concept generation of form language of products can be inter-coexistent.
