  • Purpose: This study aims at developing and implementing Smart Safety Management System based on IoT/ICT Convergence for safety of high-risk groups working at disaster or industrial field. Its functions are as follows. Method: We will develop three devices for keeping the safety of high-risk jobs: Sensor of inactivity, Lora based Refitting technology for communication between high-risk workers, and Lora Gateway for monitoring entire situations. Then we will test three devices in respect of their functions, and propose their applicabilities in the field. Results: The system can send and receive safety tags and danger signals by which sensor technology can detect dangerous state of workers. And its command terminal was developed by low-power wireless communication technology and LoRa Gateway, which can fulfill the lifting functions between safety tags. And, furthermore, the command terminal can monitor dangerous situations of disaster sites in real time and can perform the preemptive rescues. Conclusion: This study proves the functional efficacy of Smart Safety Management System for worker safety in various high-risk occupational groups, and also suggests ways to secure worker safety in disaster area and various high risk industrial sites.

  • Shortages and delays in a humanitarian logistics system can contribute to the pain and suffering of survivors or other affected people. Humanitarian logistics budgets should be sufficient to prevent such shortages or delays. Unlike commercial supply chain systems, the budgets for relief supply chain systems should be able to satisfy demand. This study describes a comprehensive model in an effort to satisfy the total relief demand by minimizing logistics operations costs. We herein propose a strategic model which determines the locations of distribution centers and the total inventory to be stocked for each distribution center where a flood or other catastrophe may occur. The proposed model is formulated and solved as a mixed-integer programming problem that integrates facility location and inventory decisions by considering capacity constraints and time restrictions in order to minimize the total cost of relief operations. The proposed model is then applied to a real flood case involving 47 disaster areas and 13 distribution centers in Thailand. Finally, we discuss the sensitivity analysis of the model and the managerial implications of this research.

  • Premium rate should be applied the insurance objects are classified reasonably, depending on the degree of exposure to disaster risk. But the existing premium rate is applied same basic rate each cities and districts without the degree of exposure to disaster risk. In this study, we analyzed the exposure to flood risk using channel buffering and suggested way to classify the premium rate by reflecting the analysis results in order to improve its. It is determined that this study would contribute to calculate the storm and flood insurance basic rate reflected risk and make and analysis of flood risk of the local river that conditions of inundation simulation is insufficient.

  • The main purpose of this work is to analyse damages caused by debris flows during the heavy rainfall at Inje province in Kangwondo, Korea. A series of site investigations have been performed to survey the characteristics of debris flows occurred during the summer season of 2006. It has been found that major losses and costs are triggered by discharge of soil and rock fragments from landslides. During the rainfall unexpectedly high precipitation rate of 113.5mm/hour and 355mm/day was recorded, which could happen at a 80-500 year period. Comparing the period of the rainfall with the time of the landslides, it has been found that the occurrence of the landslides is directly related to heavy rainfalls. At present, several debris barriers have been built at the valleys and natural slopes have been protected by the seed spray method. It is intended to propose an appropriate solutions of restoration of landslide damages and maintenance based on findings from the current study.

  • Road sides safety barrier system is the last safety during traffic accident. The structural performance of a roadside safety barrier should be kept above expectations. It is possible to protect the passenger's life. End treatment part is installed in the end of the barrier it prevents a phenomenon in which for the vehicle for the guardrail during a vehicle collision it is facility of the absorbing of car crashed impact. By repeated analysis through computer simulation for improving the vehicle crash it will be able to develop crash barriers to respond appropriately to various parameters.

  • The current contractor for use in performance compared to the performance study of industrial byproducts. Due to the stagnation of the construction business and the rise of raw materials, the contractor of the cost savings and environmental issues, and present a variety of ways for research actively being. Through special about the compressive strength characteristics of the mixed concrete, carbonation resistance and chloride penetration resistance of this study, previous studies have been a lot of progress, industrial byproducts, fly ash and blast furnace slag concrete structures were applied to evaluate.

  • If the industrial control system is infected by malicious worm such as Stuxnet, national disaster could be caused inevitably. Therefore, most of the industrial control system defence is focused on intrusion detection in network to protect against these threats. Conventional method is effective to monitor network traffic and detect anomalous patterns, but normal traffic pattern attacks using MITM technique are difficult to be detected. This study analyzes the PROFINET/DCP protocol and weaknesses with the data collected in real industrial control system. And add the authentication data field to secure the protocol, find out the applicability. Improved protocol may prevent the national disaster and defend against MITM attacks.

  • Purpose: This research proposes an optimization model for effective evacuation routing and scheduling of civilians near the border area when full-scale war threats heighten. Method: To reflect the reality, administrative unit network is created using Kruscal's Algorithm, Harmony Search, CCRP based on the geographical features, population, and traffic data of real cities, and then, optimal civilian evacuation routes are found. Results: Optimal evacuation routes and schedules are computed by repetitive experiments, and it is found that the scenario that minimizes the average civilian evacuation time is effective for the civilian evacuation plan. Conclusion: By using the civilian evacuation plan this research proposes, at the time of establishing the actual civilian evacuation plan, quantitative analysis is used for the effective plan making rather than only depending.

  • Although the working environment has changed significantly compared to the past, such as the implementation of the five-day work week and the aging of the population, it is not reflected in the current industrial accident index calculation such as frequency rate, severity rate, and safe T-score. In this study, statistical data were used to understand time-series trends such as increase in life expectancy, working age, shortening of working hours, and average age of death by accident. As a result of time series trend analysis of statistical data, life expectancy increased to 83.3 years, and the legal working age was raised to 65 years due to the aging of the population. Also, with the advent of the 5-day work week since 2001, the average annual working hours decreased to 2008.1 hours. It can be confirmed through statistical data that these phenomena are applied to the current working environment due to a complex action, and these environmental changes affect the calculation results of the industrial accident index.

  • In this paper, we implement the mobile application for disaster and safety accident response that can be easily accessed through smart phones to prevent the loss of life and poor awareness of safety to the increased number of disasters and accidents. A few of related mobile applications for accident response are served, and the most of them have the manual interfaces. In this paper, we implement the mobile application for scenario of the disaster such as earthquake and safety accident that can occur in daily life. It is organized in a form of a clear action option with user-friendly visual characters and can be used regardless of age group.
